Every muscle and nerve in the calves of your legs are relaxed now. Concentrate on relaxing every muscle and nerve in the calves of your legs as you feel this soothing feeling move through your knees and into your thighs and feel your thighs relax completely. So very, very relaxed and very, very comfortable.
Feel every muscle and nerve in your thighs relax. Make them relax. And feel your hips relax. Feel every muscle and nerve in your hips relax completely. Your hips are very relaxed and comfortable.
Now you feel this warm, soft, soothing feeling enter your stomach and feel every muscle and every nerve in your stomach relax completely. Feel all the tenseness and tightness in your stomach leave you. There is no tenseness, there is no tightness in your stomach. All the muscles are relaxed. Completely relaxed. So very, very, relaxed and very comfortable.
Now feel your chest relax. With every breath you take, your breathing becomes easier and easier. Every muscle and every nerve in your chest is relaxed. So very relaxed and comfortable. You have no cares - you have no worries. You are in that wonderful, beautiful, soothing land of relaxation and you hear every word I speak and you go deeper and deeper asleep with every word I speak and every breath you take.
Feel this feeling of relaxation enter your shoulders and feel your shoulders relax. Make every muscle and every nerve in your shoulders relax as you feel this feeling of relaxation enter your arms and feel all the muscles and nerves in your upper arms relax completely.
Your upper arms are relaxed. And you feel this feeling of relaxation move through your elbows into your forearms. Make your forearms relax. Feel this feeling of relaxation move through your wrist and into your hands and fingers and feel your hands and fingers relax completely. So very, very relaxed and very comfortable.

Now I want you to picture in your mind's eye a softly lit, carpeted stairway of a beautiful color. Your favorite color. The light is so soft, so pleasing to you that it engulfs you in complete relaxation. You are standing at the bottom of the stairway and know that when you reach the top you will be completely relaxed in every way.
As I count from 1 to 10 you will walk slowly up the stairway, relaxing with every breath you take, every step you take, and every word I speak. You will always hear, understand, and respond to, my voice.
1, now begin your trip up the stairway to complete relaxation. 2, going up slowly, so very, very relaxed and very comfortable. 3, it is such a pleasant trip. Soft light surrounds you. It engulfs you with complete relaxation. 4, going up slowly. 5, going deeper and deeper asleep. 6, the carpet is so soft to your feet and so beautiful to your eyes. 7, going up slowly. 8, walking slowly up the stairway - almost at the top now and going deeper and deeper asleep. 9, one step to go. 10, all the way up, all the way up to complete relaxation.
Now you are deep and fast asleep. And you will form a mental image now of yourself looking as slim and trim as you want to be. You are many pounds lighter and physically healthier because you are slimmer. Now form this image of a slim and healthy you. Form the image of yourself looking slim and trim as you want to be.
The image will stay with you as a personal goal to attain. You will decide now to lose weight by reducing your intake of food. You will lose the desire for any food that will put fat on your body. You are growing stronger now with each passing moment in your desire to attain the goal of a slim and healthy you.
The positive affirmation, "I will lose weight", will be a part of your thinking until your goal is reached. Form the image now and see you at a table with food. Take small portions for your plate. Eat less than normal and push the plate away. No second helpings. That's right, except for sweets and deserts, eat the food you like. Eat less of it than normal. See the image of a slim and healthy you.

Now in a moment I am going to awaken you. You will be relaxed, refreshed, alert and committed to achieving the weight loss goal you have set for yourself. When I count to 3 you will be wide awake. 1, you want to wake up. 2, you feel renewed life forces flowing through you body. You can and you will open your eyes. 3, 4, 5, wide awake now.
