Kallesin n'Galeda is in Main Engineering to be refitted with a new layer of
skin. Vymora Einicrox is with him and tells him she dislikes it how he let
himself be treated like a work drone on Athel Loren II. Kallesin agrees to
be more observant of situations where his rights as a person are hurt. In
return he chides her for risking her life in the battle with the
P'ronflrr'ecx. Vymora replies that it had been the only option to
surrendering to the entity and certain death. She is troubled by the death
of all living creatures in the Athel Loren system because of the exploding
star. Kallesin explains to her that it was the only way for the Guardians to
end the P'ronflrr'ecx threat for all time. He feels a certain kinship with
the ancient Guardians and Vymora realizes how lonely he must be among the
organics at times. They discuss offspring and being illogical and find
comfort in having one another.



Ensign Gabriel Goose is surprised by LtCmdr Nova'Song's offer of a position
as bridge medic but he gladly accepts. He is fascinated by her and hopes to
become friends with her in the future. Later, he has a subspace
communication with his parents and realizes how proud he makes them and how
blissfully ignorant they are of his job. Afterwards he visits his only other
friend aboard, the Xindi-Aquatic xenobiologist Tik, and has a comforting
talk with her about settling into new places and duties.



Onboard the WILD WEASEL. 1LT Jim Peterson finds himself and his ship
transported suddenly into the shuttlebay of the HORIZON. Before he or his
squads can find out what happened he receives an invitation to the bridge.
He and gunnery sergeant Gross head there.



LtCmdr Nova'Song is in her quarters and uses an old Indaran remedy to get
rid of her pains and find rest. The next morning she is refreshed and meets
the captain in his ready room to talk shop.



Vymora and Kallesin are babysitting Cassandra Burke. The presence of the
child has each one thinking about procreation and the possible future.
Kallesin tells Vymora then that he wants to end their relationship because
he won't be able to fulfill her needs to be a mother, and because he thinks
his logical programming is disrupted because of the relationship. He also
thinks the relationship interferes with his duties as an officer. Vymora
dismisses these thoughts with his own arguments, that his reasoning is
faulty because he is in love, and that he is acting silly. She tells him
that she loves him just the way he is and that she would accept him as
father of her -in whatever way created- future child. When she proposes to
him, Kallesin finally understands and surrenders.



On the way to the captain's ready room, 1LT Peterson and Sgt. Gross talk
about accommodations and the lack of personnel even on the Cocoon's flag
ship. They report to the captain on the bridge, which is still being cleaned
up, and follow Burke to his ready room. They discuss their orders and are
being invited to the senior staff meeting later that day.
