Lt. Einicrox emphasizes their two most urgent objectives: remove all
physical evidence of the Chupacabra and rescue the Vulcan from the Spanish
Inquisition prison. Lt<jg> O'Brady offers to lead a team to get the Vulcan
out and also to erase the short-term memories of those he came into contact
with. O'Brady doesn't want Ambassador Pendar to go to the surface, or any
non-Humans to go into populated areas. Pendar doesn't like this, but there's
nothing he can do about it. He'll have to find another way to get his hands
on Federation technology. Einicrox trusts him enough to allow him some
access to the Horizon's systems, so he can help them attain their mission
goals.

The rescue team assembles in the transporter room. O'Brady will act as Grand
Inquisitor, coming to take the prisoner elsewhere for interrogation.
Einicrox joins him despite his objections, dressed in armour covering her
from head to toe. She feels totally uncomfortable, not in the least because
O'Brady will practically lead the team. Linguist Marc Slater goes along to
do the talking, and the rest of the team consists of security and medical
personnel. Everyone is assigned a role and they are dressed up accordingly.

Before long, the Inquisition rescue team and seventy-two other teams are
down on the planet, marking the largest extra-ship mission in the Horizon's
history. Captain Burke hopes everything will work out. CPO Jesus Esperanto
is part of a team going to the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan, a metropolis with
300,000 inhabitants.

Meanwhile, the Horizon's scientists are working on nanomachines that can
convert the Chupacabra's materials into water vapour, so nothing will have
to be beamed off the surface.
