Stuart, McKinnley, and Mrell return to the NIGHTINGALE with their
prisoner and the NIGHTINGALE begins preparations to depart the Usari
system escorting the transport ships loaded with refugees.  The
situation with the Usari planet will be left for the HIKARU to handle.
Already the Usari on the 'Gale are beginning to feel claustrophobic.
Their need for open spaces promises to make the return journey, a one
month cruise,  an interesting one.  The 'Gale is so stuffed with
personnel that the trip will put a severe strain on life support, and on
personalities.  The prisoner, Tigo Holman, is taken to a holodeck by
Mrell and McKinnley.  With a little intimidation and mild 'Chinese water
torture', Holman soon confesses that he is working for for the Usari
High Bulpim and his sect.  The plan was to destroy the Usari sun with
Holman's torpedoes and move the Usari planet from orbit.  The stellar
explosion would hurl the Usari planet into interstellar space, where in
twelve hundred years it would obtain a new orbit in Holman's home
system.

On the unknown planet Ens Naalauilos returns with Lt Green.  Green is
suffering from malnutrition and from some disease he picked up during
his adventure.  In a confused state he attempts a river crossing, only
to get swept away by the current.  Naalauilos and Fischer jump in to try
a rescue.   After a bit of white-water body-rafting, they manage to drag
the injured Green once again to shore.
