Fleet Sitrep for SD 15.0608 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* acting Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral S'Telk ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Captain Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** Being the patient sort he is (cough cough), CSciO Jur Lehron, currently in charge of the ship, is mildly concerned about the relative absence of his officer colleagues. That is to say, he has sent a message to all parts of the ship as well as to all active commbadges on the planet's surface demanding they report in. And then scares the poor dutyman only minutes later by vociferously exclaiming his displeasure at his compatriots' reticence. The poor fellow is probably pleading for the other command staff to return at this point. Before winding up on the ledge CSO Mercedes McCarter and CNS Logaan Woods discovered her on, CO Miranda Sands had quite a wild ride. Just after being washed out of the room both she and the counsellor were in when the flood hit, she had a wrestling match with their 'rescuer' Veris. He seemed awfully well prepared for what Miranda had assumed was a natural disaster of some sort and his underwater breathing gear gave him something of an unfair advantage in their boxing match. It is quite difficult to hang on to an unrestrained, unwilling guest underwater, though, and Miranda managed to break away. When the swells of water washed her into the chamber with the rock ledge just out of the liquid's reach, it seemed an ideal place to play dead. Not realizing she was alive, Mercedes and Logaan said nothing as they approached and were quite surprised when she threw Logaan into a headlock and held a Klingon knife to his throat. From his silence and lack of struggle, Miranda doubted she had captured her attacker and examined her prize more closely. Seeing it was her very own CNS, she released him and regaled them with her adventure. They decide to stick close together going in the same direction Mercedes and Logaan had been travelling to keep an eye out for the rest of the missing Away Team members. ********* **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** (currently vacant) **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: LtCmdr James Burke GM: Ruud Visser ****************** CMO Electra Threin tries to figure out how to use early-23rd-century tricorders. She gets some strange readings from the away team. Meanwhile, Sasha Kali is settling into her new role as FO of the Emerald Fleet's flagship, the USS Audre Lorde. She is glad to be with Admiral Tergin again. OPS/2O D'Art Storm tries to figure out how to use the Horizon-1000's navigations console. Captain Stuart Mann wonders what to do with the non-responsive ship and asks for FO Abi Seldon's advice, but she doesn't really answer him. On the Horizon-825002, the bridge crew tries to figure out what has happened to the away team. Captain James Burke is called to the transporter room, where the "away team" has returned: the better part of the 1000's senior staff. Elsewhere, a group of Challia scientists are monitoring both Horizon's displaced teams. The Challia are ungendered and are studying the behaviour of gendered species. The relationship between Storm and CSO Nathan Cady catches their interest, and they decide to run a little experiment on them. Suddenly, Storm and Cady cannot stay off of each other. On the 1000, CEO Stan the Man discovers that he is no longer a hologram, but instead a being of flesh and blood. His counterpart on the 825002 discovers that he has become a hologram. ************************ USS ATHENE CO: Cpt Demetrius Simms GM: Currently Vacant *********************** NO POSTS THUS NO REPORT SUBMITTED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander J'eran GM: Currently Vacant ******************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Demitrius Simms. ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff and USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Commander Pol Canon GM: Marc Boon ***************** On the Usari homeworld, a gigantic engine - embedded in the planet's crust - comes on-line in an attempt to move the planet from the damaging stellar radiation. Its origin is at the site of Kersh's abduction. It had been constructed in secret by a separate sect of the Usari. Severe earthquakes ravage the geosphere. Even if the engine was stopped, the consequences of its use would be almost impossible to reverse. Already the planet is headed to a new orbit around its primary. While Alyza and Canon meet with the Usari leaders, the evacuation continues. Stuart, McKinnley, and Mrell manage to gain control over their kidnappers the same ones who fired the torpedo which destabilized the Usari sun. ************************** ************************************* USS YEAGER CO: Commander Rudolf Fischer GM: Currently Vacant ************************************* On board YEAGER's saucer section, scans of the relay station failed to reveal Fischer and his Away Team. They do, however, show where and perhaps how they had been transported off the relay station. The destination of that transporter beam is determined and the saucer section and the stardrive section arrange to get back together to investigate. Meanwhile on the planet, Fischer and the rest of his stranded Away Team find the missing Lt Green. ****************************************
