aFO Abi Seldon and OPS/a2O D'Art Storm continue with their CGT training
program.

After agreeing to receive the creature from the Yeager, 
CO James Burke heads to the Ship's Edge to deal with the 
hostage situation. Cady has gotten the hostage taker, 
Pembleton, one of professor Chosky's students, to let 
CMO Electra Threin in to take a look at Chosky. Threin 
pretends the professor is still alive and Pembleton lets 
her and two others carry him to sickbay. Outside the lounge, 
Threin informs Burke that Chosky is in fact dead. Just then,
 Ensign Alex McRae, the new counsellor, arrives and offers 
to help. The easiest end to the situation would be to beam 
Pembleton out, but he will have to be separated from Ad'am 
first. Burke decides to offer a hostage exchange, the CO 
for Ad'am, hoping the separation will occur during the 
exchange. Although a good plan, H'llstam, the metamorph 
from the SpecOps team, already takes care of the situation.

The USS Renegade, commanded by former Horizon FCO Jarek Malaar, 
is captured by the Q and shrunk to be put in a bottle in the 
Horizon's lounge.

The next day, Burke tells Seldon and Storm their CGT training
 was in fact the real test. They passed and are now full FO 
and 2O, respectively. The creature is taken over from the 
Yeager and secured for delivery to SB Omega. Burke proceeds
 to the Fleet CO's office upon their arrival at the starbase.
 Admiral O'Connor promotes him to full Commander for the 
solid job he has done as the Horizon's CO.

The rescue team will be shuttled in, with another shuttle in sentry
duty. Canon finally gets around to do his physical, where he is
confronted by the 12 cadets. Meanwhile, on the Hiraku, they link up with
the Gale to boost up the sensor efficiency

The two shuttles locate the original hiraku awayteam.  Except, off
course, the kidnapped CNS, who they locate some 15 km away at the base
off a castle.

On the 'Gale's bridge in the meantime,  Thayer uses an ancient earpiece
to be able to communicate to the Fleming. As the captain enters the
bridge after his physical.  He tells her that Mccuen will pay.

With the predatory creature captured and transferred to the HORIZON, the
YEAGER continues on its mission, the investigation of Gaia-1 and Juun-1
comm relay stations.  But not before a Memorial Service is held for the
first of the YEAGER's crew to loose their lives.

The only clue to the silence of the comm relay stations was a seed found
at Gaia-1, a seed whose DNA is constantly changing as it grows in YEAGER
's Science Lab.  It is decided to separate the ship to investigate both
relay stations at the same time.
