Fleet Sitrep for SD 15.0323 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* acting Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral S'Telk ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Captain Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** CSciO Jur Lehron, left in charge by his fiance, aCO Miranda Sands, has an interesting time trying to satisfy OPS Mara Thull's Klingon sense of honor. She believes herself dishonored by not only having given an order to a higher ranked officer, but also having usurped yet another superior officer's perrogative to have given that order. Jur feels it was simply a suggestion blurted out in the heat of battle, but "punishes" her by ordering her to live on and assigning her the task of researching 5 other species' codes of honor. Once Mara has left, Jur longs again for Miranda to be safely rescued because he hears that "official" tone sneaking into his voice. Unsatisfied with her "punishment," Mara decides to perform a ritual similar to the Ascension but, in this case, involving 14 Honor Guard armed with painsticks instead of 10. Jur is in agonies to stop it, but Mercedes restrains him and gets him to let Mara finish for her Klingon peace of mind. Past all of the Guard, Mara begins to thank them for respecting her wishes in spite of their misgivings, but collapses from shock before she has spoken all her mind. Jur hovers over her, showing his worry and strain by commenting about people who inflict pain on themselves to make themselves feel better about themselves. When he says the Deltan way of making love and not 'war' is better then realises that it could be interpreted as an offer, he begins "What I meant was"ing until Mercedes laughs and says they know what he meant. Just as they get Mara to Sickbay, Jur is informed by the bridg that they have lost contact with the second Away Team as well. He asks Mercedes if she'd like to take a shot at cracking the planet's mystery and she answers, "Are Deltans bald?" Deltan Jur Lehron understands this to mean, "Of course!" and Mercedes asks Mara if she feels up to coming along. Merceds team of 8 splits at the tunnel intersection that CNS Logaan Woods split his team of 4 at and they lose contact with one another at about the same point that the previous team did. They also run afoul of the same booby traps and when the same 'natives' come by to take Mercedes to the underground village, she slugs the guy nearest her and takes off. The water she shortly finds herself splashing through as she makes her way down the tunnel swiftly becomes deep enough to swim in. Her silent, lithe strokes bring her into abrupt contact with an object under the water, though, and surfacing, dazed, she first sees her dead mother encouraging her to come closer. The image is replaced with Logaan calling for her and she gladly paddles over. ********* **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** (currently vacant) **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: LtCmdr James Burke GM: Ruud Visser ****************** CMO Electra Threin continues her treatment on SOXO Nathan Cady and the young man is almost back to his natural age now. The rapid ageing and de-ageing have resulted in pains and fatigue, but he'll feel better in a few days. Still, Threin is worrying that she might never fully restore him. Abi Seldon and D'Art Storm, both just promoted to FO and 2O, respectively, head to the holodeck. At Storm's request, Cady joins them to create some tough CGT simulations. After a while, as Seldon and Storm are busy saving the holographic ship, CO James Burke enters the control hub and has a little talk with Cady. He tells Cady he has an opening for CSO and could use him. Cady agrees. ************************ USS ATHENE CO: Cpt Demetrius Simms GM: Currently Vacant SITREP by: Clark Goble *********************** No Posts/No Report Submitted ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. They are a mix between insect and reptilian, with endo- and exoskeletons and lungs. Cannon pays a visit to Holodeck 2 with Abigail for a pick nick in a Betazed type landscape. Meanwhile the Hikaru gets a message from the Usari asking if they knew what happened. The Hiraku tries to scan the surface, while they get a map locating possible shelter areas from the Usari. Cmdr Thar suggests an awayteam to install a relay beacon and conduct a ground based search dressed up in radiation suits. They should have 48 hours to complete this away mission. Once on the surface they have trouble contacting the Hiraku. So they decide to beam to the next location, the USARI's sacred mountain, where the counselor is abducted by some winged beast. ************************************ ************************************* USS YEAGER CO: Commander Rudolf Fischer GM: Currently Vacant SITREP by: Raven ************************************* With the discovery of the dismember body, Fischer orders the deck sealed and a search for intruders intitiated. A temperature anomaly is noted near a sensor-blind area. Investigation of this area reveals more of the protein residue, similar to that present in the deuterium tanks. Ya-Nar, Chief Operations Officer, begins to set up a 'crew-monitoring' scan when he notices that crew on decks 2-9 appeared to be spontaneously disappearing and re-appearing from the scans. ****************************************
