There is very little in the room she and Malaka have been locked in, but Mercedes brought along some toys in her boots. Her Exploding Shooter Marbles of Death, two pocket knives, and five M-80s she got from a Ferengi soon lie on the floor in front of her, emptied from the unobtrusive Starfleet issue footwear. Her creative mind begins cranking out escape plans, discarding those that will get them discovered and returned to the room or that will get either of them killed. Her boots slipped back on, one last tucked away item scrapes her leg. Her communicator! Mercedes laughs at herself for all the daring, unneeded plans she had concocted and contacts Ensign Chesney, on duty in one of the HAMILTON transporter rooms. Mercedes has Malaka delivered to her office and herself dropped outside the city. There she again encounters the artisan, gives him a replay of the traditional female response toa male attacker, and runs away full-tilt right into CNS Logaan Woods. After she lets him up and they greet one another, the Prime Minister's promised aid begins to race noisily into Kinaresh. Logaan explains at the top of his lungs as the huge vehicles haul disaster workers and supplies past. Once the roar has settled, they split up to search for FO Miranda Sands and her fiance, CSciO Jur Lehron. Just after Mercedes checks up on Logaan via communicator, the Science officer discovers the evil artisan. As they square off, Logaan asks what he is doing in Kinaresh, but the artisan only answers, "I have a blade with your name on it." Since the SF officer is still injured from their last encounter, it doesn't look too good for him unless he can get some telling blows in very quickly. CNS Logaan Woods and the artisan clash with weapons seized from the debris, but one of Logaan's parries sends both weapons flying. The artisan's tackle starts a flurry of kneeings, punchings, and various body blows until a sudden crack freezes both. At first, Logaan doesn't realize what has happened and he nudges the artisan. He doesn't move so Logaan shoves him off and his lack of resistence wakens dread his SF counsellor's heart. Logaan checks for a pulse. Nothing. In a daze, Logaan limps a short distance to find the others and is greatly relieved to see them walking toward him out of the stone-dust raised by the brawl. Of FO-aCO Miranda Sands, CSciO Jur Lehron, and Planetary Mediator Minuar Calvert, Jur immediately begins chattering about everything getting back to normal and about the dust's Rorschach-like qualities only to be shushed by his fiance Miranda) and Logaan. CSO Mercedes McCarter is drawn to the spot by more entrancing inner music. On the scene, she is transfixed by the sight of her dead tormentor until Miranda suggests they all beamup to the ship. Mercedes, in quarters, worries about what to wear to her dinner date with Logaan, but not enough to leave her comfy bed just yet, so her holographic friend Hawkeye says he'll look. Logaan, readied for a relaxing shower, gets instead a visit from his ex-fiance. When she says she still loves him and that she can only stay a few more days, he, after a long pause, angrily asks if he's supposed to insist she stay(-she- left -him). She then asks if there is someone and he says there might be, but its none of her business anyway and he's going to take a shower. When he comes back out she is gone. CEO Chandler McCarter watches Minuar's daughter Malaka until the girl falls asleep and Miranda calls the engineer. Chandler leaves Malaka with her husband-Mercedes' brother (Yossarian) and puts Minuar at ease about her child when they talk in the ready room with Miranda. After theacting Captain offers Minuar and her daughter sanctuary, the mediator says she is unsure what to decide and Miranda tells her to sleep on it and they'll talk in the morning. After escourting Minuar to guest quarters, Miranda tries to relax her case of Captain's worry out with a nice shower. That doesn't work, so her next attempt at a cure is a good sleep. If she can manage some shut-eye. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** (currently vacant) **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: LtCmdr James Burke GM: Ruud Visser ****************** CSO Kor buys a barrel of bloodwine and takes it to the party in the Mystery Bar. Most of the crew joins him there for a great night. Cady isn't too happy to see D'Art Storm, with whom he's been rather close up to lately, hang out with an old friend. Thanks to the SpecOps team, the Mystery Bar hasn't ended in a raid for the first time in months. Amy DeSantos is pregnant with Lt. Bordaq's child, but both this couldn't have happened if it wasn't for an ulterior force. The next morning, while most of the crew is suffering from various degrees of hangover, professor Chosky from the Shoemaker-Levy Institute of Cosmology comes aboard. He'll join the crew on their study of the Joyenova. Blaze Starsinger gets a call from his mother, who tells him his father has fallen ill again. Blaze decides he should be at home right now, and leaves the ship. Lt Storm, who moved from security to the ops department just this morning, takes over as chief of operations. When he accidentally takes away some of the SpecOps resources, Cady has an excuse to let out some of the anger over last night. With all between-missions stuff taken care of, the Horizon sets sail for the Jerjoye system for the new mission. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Grayham Tyler ******************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** The second Sehimlaeti bomber is found. He arrives on the station's transporter pad - in several incomplete sections - along with a note from those responsible for the dismemberment. An attempt is made to re-trace the transporter signal, but all evidence is gone. Roberts suggests that perhaps a ship's transporter system was used and this is quickly checked. Kersh's son, Jackson, makes friends with a young Deyhui boy. In the past the Sehimlaeti invaded the Deyhui homeworld, driving off survivors and destroying the ecosystem. Perhaps a Deyhui killed the Sehimlaeti in revenge. The investigation continues. Stryker suggests using the dismembered Sehimlaeti's DNA as the basis for a station-wide sensor scan in an attempt to find where the body came from. The know Sehimlaiti aboard the station are gathered together so they can easily be eliminated during the scan. Transporter logs from ships docked at the Station are quickly eliminated as a possible source. ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Commander Pol Canon GM: Marc Boon ********************************** Planning for Dr mcCuen's fare-well party continues on the 'Gale Meanwhile on Qun: news off the delayed arrival off the 'Gale forces Eustis, Council Leader and head-of-state for the Qun world to push back his timetable. The 'Gale's timebeacon is off by 25 seconds, which causes them to drop out off warp in order to be able to run a level 1 diagnostics. It looks like the timebeacon has been tampered with, maybe even sabotaged. When the 'Gale arives at Qun II, they discover Qun 3 to be a "failed star". Lt Zaxx puts the 'Gale in orbit and they hail the Qun **********************************************************
