She discusses with him the possibility that he may be called back to the planet's surface or that someone of higher rank may assume command and decide to remove her from the ship or even that she herself may decide to send Karen away if she obstructs the mission in any way. He accepts these potential outcomes. Chandler then asks after his sister, Sarah, who lapsed into a coma during the battle against Nengie and only momentarily regained consciousness at the battle's climax. Logaan admits that there has been no positive change and that the doctors are not hopeful. Chandler then offers the use of her sympathetic ear anytime he needs to pour out his troubles. By the time CSO Mercedes McCarter arrives in Sickbay to retrieve her troublesome duckling, Logaan has returned to his sister's bedside and she experiencesa moment of discomfort having found him there. To cover it, she chides Quackers while the young fowl uses his powers of duck persuasion to avoid immediate removal. She leaves saying she will send Hawkeye, her holographic friend, to bring Quackers back to her quarters. Logaan rushes after her; first apologizing for the way he talked to her, then inviting her to dinner when the mission is over. Mercedes doesn't say in so many words that she will come, but it's plain she will. When the urge to kiss her nearly overwhelms him, he hurriedly says goodbye and returns to his vigil at his sister's bedside. Planetside, the Away Team passes the night in relative safety. No one disturbs them in the city courtyard waystation they occupied shortly after their skratla ride. In fact, the night passes with their own watch change and the passing of a drunk as the only occurances of note. CSciO Jur Lehron even manages to whip up a breakfast of green tea and sweet rolls over which they discuss where they will begin their search for Planetary Arbitrator Minuar Calvert's daughter, Malaka. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** (currently vacant) **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: LtCmdr James Burke GM: Ruud Visser ****************** The weakened alien ship is no match for the Horizon. Heavily damaged, it ejects a dozen lifeboats and sets course for the jump-gate to get back to their own universe. They never reach home, though, as the jump-gate is too instable to allow passage. Eleven of the lifeboats warp away, the twelfth one stays behind and is captured by the Meade. Later, Captain Burke learns Lavender/Green's mate is aboard, as well as. They have no hostile intentions and Burke allows them the freedom L/G asks. CEO Kuaar takes an engineering team over to the Meade to help with repairs. SpecOps XO Cady is also on the team, undercover, to execute the orders Burke received at the start of the mission: to retrieve Professor Haptfield's orders. Cady manages to do so without being discovered by the Meade's crew, bringing yet another Horizon mission to a successful end. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Everyone takes advantage of the change to re-connect with loved ones and friends. Kersh gets a surprise birthday party. A double wedding is in the planning stages. On approach, Fischer and Stryker reminisce about their first Star Fleet postings. Ens Fitzpatrick (NPC), CURIE's CNS, returns to her office aboard the ship to find Kersh's boxes have taken over the compartment. The boxes are beamed to storage. Roberts checks with Dr Poynton about Alex. She continues in her coma. Fischer spends some time sitting with Alex. Touching her hand, Fischer experiences a vision, or perhaps a memory from Alex, of the future. Alyza, Roberts, and himself are aboard DS 101. But a drastically damaged DS 101. The station is under hostile fire from ships exiting a dimensional rift. He sees Alyza and Roberts, bodies burnt, slumped over a console. "Traitor", he hears... then awakens. Stryker discovers a mini-blackhole in the vicinity. Fischer receives orders from Admiral Deric to the effect that Lt Mike is arriving to test a new engine prototype. Fischer is specifically ordered to give Lt Mike whatever he asks and to keep Roberts from participating in the testing. At the Hetarot Embassy Ri'eta meets with Naemah. Initial conversation hints at a future time travel. Ri'eta is accompanied by a Human, Phillip Granger of Mariposa. He had been summoned four months ago, during the as yet to happen time-travel mission. Ri'eta has created a device that would allow any vessel to go back in time. Her plan is to go back in time 2500 years, and collect DNA samples from those of her race, thus hoping to re-populate her endangered species. Their mission arrives in the past safely and preparations begin. On Cardassia IX, Alyza and Canon continue their search for the Bajoran artifact. The find an Orb Case, which when opened releases a Dal'Rok, a malevolent telepathic energy being. The Dal'Rok feeds upon and intensifies feelings of conflict, aggression,... just down-right evil thoughts. Acting upon their knowledge of Bajoran history, Alyza and Canon begins to tell 'happy' stories. This seems to diminish the Dal'Rok's effects upon those present. The Away Team comes under attack from Cardassian security guards. Using the Storyteller's Stick and the Orb Case, they are able to confine the Dal'Rok back in the case. They quickly are beamed back to the shuttle and set course for home. NIGHTINGALE's prisoners from TASMANIA are transferred to the USS YORKTOWN and the NIGHTINGALE sets course for DS 101 to re-supply. Much to Stuart's chagrin he learns that Kathryn Collins, an old love, has been assigned to NIGHTINGALE as the liaison with the Federation Red Cross. Ens Liam MacKinnley, after being suspended in a temporal anomaly for two years, reports aboard as Chief Security Officer. Upon arrival he meets Mrell and Stuart. MacKinnley is not exactly pleased to be assigned to a medical ship... he was hoping for more 'action'. Stuart promises that he will see all the action he wants, perhaps more than he desires. MacKinnley keeps his thoughts to himself and settles into his duties. On Cardassia IX, Alyza and Canon continue their search for the Bajoran artifact. The tests will be supervised by Lt Mike, Roberts' brother. Mike wastes no time and meets with Roberts shortly after arrival. Mike tells his brother that Starfleet has devised a way for Mike to regain his memory of past events during his life on Twentieth Century Earth. However, after learning that Roberts was the one who help the aliens plot his kidnapping, Mike tells his brother that he has decided not to undergo the procedure. Additional he tells his brother that he wishes to have nothing further to do with him. Captain Alyza and Commander Canon return from their mission on Cardassia IX. After stopping at Starbase Omega to leave the Orb Case, Dal'Rok, and the Storyteller's Staff with the Admiral, they set course for DS 101. Along the way they receive a distress call from a merchant vessel under attack by three Raptor-Class Juun fighters. They warn the fighters to break off, but the attack continues. After sending a message to DS 101, relayed to the NIGHTINGALE, Alyza and Canon rush to the freighter's rescue. The HIKARU departs DS 101 to lend assistance. The NIGHTINGALE responds as quickly as possible. Newly arrived CSO Ens MacKinnley takes advantage of the travel time to plan a tactical response. Once upon arrival at the site of battle, MacKinnley leads a nine-ship flight of NIGHTINGALE's armed shuttles to the rescue. In themidst of battle, Lt Zaxx (NIGHTINGALE's newly assigned FCO), arrives on the scene aboard a runabout. He, too, enters the fray. By now the Juun fighters have been reinforced by twelve more Raptor-Class fighters. Fifteen enemy fighters against nine armed runabouts/shuttles from the NIGHTINGALE, Zaxx's runabout, and Alyza and Canon in Mrell's shuttle. The situation is not looking good for our heros. ********************************** ********************************** NRPG: Since I forgot last week Fleet SITREP, this week report combines the two. **********************************************************
