In Sickbay, the poor Bajoran care giver is anxious to find out if she hurt Sarah in some way, but it turns out to be completely inexplicable. Nengie most likely is responsible. Her blood pressure and heart rate shoot up while her brain activity goes off the charts, then the initial symptoms subside and her brain begins to shut down. The EMH gives her about a month before it becomes terminal. Planet-side, Logan and CSciO Jur Lehron seem to have it made. After the courteous greeting from Prime Minister Xark, they are welcomed by a friendly, curious horde just inside the palace. From there, they are led into a dining hall where the table is swiftly loaded with odd-looking, scrumptious dishes. Afterward, Xark begins the 'dance of negotiation.' Having two left feet, Logan is quickly "out of breath" and sits down. Jur goes with him and Xark reappears to check onthem. Jur suggests getting down to business, but Xark puts him off and invites them to roam the grounds after being shown their quarters. Two of the guard lead Logan and Jur to adjoining rooms, then leave. Jur decides to take a walk in the brisk night air, but Logan dresses for bed and begins reading a romance novel he brought. A native woman walks in before he reads much and expertly kisses his stuttering, protesting lips. He insists he can't accept her advances since there is someone else and when she swiftly draws a barbed dagger he reassures her that it's not because she's bad looking. She says, "Uglak yerin!" proving that Nengie's influence can ruin the most idyllic assignment. He is driven at knife-point out of the city and into the desert for an energy-sapping jog to a far off campsite. There his "escort" gives him a trader's outfit to replace his shredded, uninsulating pajamas before they settle in for the night. CSO Mercedes McCarter has a native guide as well. The strange man from the city has led her and CMO Chip to the settlement where he serves as holyman. After being greeted by the leader, she walks among the dwellings, looking at the people dying horribly from Nengie's touch. Later, Mercedes unsuccessfully tries to get to sleep. After hearing some music, she searches for its source and is led to a cave from which comes a chant of the name these people call her, "Shakia." In the cave, CSO Mercedes McCarter re-experiences the day her mother was killed. The argument, the gunshots, the barn going up in flames, the murderer holding her back, the threat against her life if she ever told; all was exactly as she remembered it. When she wakes, the tiny cut he made with his threat was there again, bleeding. And the chant in the cave had switched to "Nengie." In the desert, CNS Logaan Woods gets a fatally poisoned needle in his foot. After suffering horribly and being convinced he died, he wakes the next morning a short distance from the camp. His kidnapper gives him some water for his parched throat just before a shuttle flies overhead. Logaan frantically pieces back together the mess of electronics his commbadge turned into overnight and manages to contact CSciO Jur Lehron, the shuttle's pilot. When Jur returns, Logaan's native friend insists on riding a superfast chicken-lizard she whistles up instead of the shuttle. As she leads, chestpains precede --something-- taking over Logaan's body. The Logaan-creature demands that they get CEO Chandler T'krn-McCarter. Jur dares ask about Miranda, and it bellows she is unimportant, Chandler is needed. Logaan shakes off whatever it is and says to get Miranda, which Jur heads out to do, slyly leaving dye-bomb markers to mark the way. The Exec has some fun of her own, chasing down the arbitrator they are here to save. Apparently, her captors released her sothey could play a little game. If she makes it to Kinaresh in two days, she and her daughter will live. If she uses a transporter, they will use tracking devices to immediately hunt her down. After agreeing to help Calvert, Miranda signals the Away Teams to report. CMO Chip needs to go back to the ship to treat an officer's broken ankle. Chandler has finished her assignment and wishes to go to the ship also. Jur (before picking up Logaan) asks after the counsellor and is told to come pick up Miranda so they can both look. While she is waiting, Chip and Chandler report they are about to leave and Miranda asks after Mercedes. No one has seen her since she wandered off from her Away Team as she always does. When Jur finally arrives, he comes out of the shuttle saying, "Honey, I've got a bit of a problem." Just what problem that is becomes clear when Logaan-creature comes out of the shuttle and makes sure they are all covered by its phaser. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** (currently vacant) **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: LtCmdr James Burke GM: Ruud Visser ****************** The alien emissary apologizes for accessing the Horizon's computer without telling, and severs the connection. On his ship, however, another alien species isn't happy with the Horizon crew's quick discovery. The Clan Leader intents to carry out his scouting mission no matter what resistance the Horizon offers. Still not fully trusting Lavender/Green, the alien emissary, CSO Kor wants to get some scans of the pod's internal structure. He decides to use gravity waves, hoping the alien won't perceive them as a scanning device. Captain Burke offers to adapt the VIP quarters to the emissary's environmental needs. Lavender/Green gladly accepts, as this might enablehim to gather more information on the Horizon. Ensign Kor and CNS Bordaq leave to prepare the quarters, which Burke wisely wants surrounded by forcefields. Meanwhile, Burke pays a visit to his wife in sickbay. He still blames himself for her injuries, saying they shouldn't have moved to the Horizon, but she doesn't want to hear it. She's happy aboard the Horizon and she'll take everything as it comes. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Grayham Tyler ******************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff and USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Commander Pol Canon GM: Marc Boon ***************** Stryker has a lock on the away team and while awaiting the beam-out order he starts working on a "Stryker-Tornado" simulation, he plans to use to blow all the dust out into space. Kari contacts the local Doctor, or Healer as they call it, and finds out that men from the Tasmania drew attention because "their mouths did not match their words". When she leaves him she tries to contact Start, but she gets no reply. The away team lead by Lt. Card found the first escape pod, punctured deliberately, the crew with tied hands. Meanwhile the Curie tows one off the Tasmania's shuttles out off the artificial snowstorm, capturing the three crewmen inside. Meanwhile Stuart is severely beaten up by Bruno, barely conscious, and retreats in his mind to a distant part. As he comes to he is standing over a dead Bruno, without recollection off killing him and leaves his prison without being spotted Stryker, Chief Science Officer aboard the CURIE, comes up with a plan to use an artificially created tornado to cover the removal the contaminated dust particles and lifting the TASMANIA from the planet's surface. Fischer and his team are safely back aboard the CURIE. While searching for escape pods in the forest around the TASMANIA, Kersh finds himself under fire. Stuart, NIGHTINGALE's FO, rendezvouses with Kari and Hakon at the village Temple. There they are met by the local Priestess, Mother Saiya. She knows who they are and is aware of the other Starfleet personnel on the planet. She reveals that for tens of thousands of years select members of the Nescio species have been able to interact with special underground sites and get a dim view of different time-lines. Although their visions and influence may be less that they think. A Cultural Survey five years before discovered this aspect of Nescio culture. Thus Starfleet Intel became interested and sent its own expedition to Nescio. Now a cabal of Intel officers have set out on their own unapproved mission. Aboard the CURIE interrogation of some of TASMANIA's crew leads to the conclusion that their mission is not a legal one. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy ************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ********************************** ********************************** **********************************************************
