Fleet Sitrep for SD 14.0203 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Ardeous Brockman ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Captain Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** With his FO semi-obediently in Sickbay, CO Judah Gibbons turns to his other doctor-avoiding officer. After getting her to (in the line of duty) admit that there is no current need for her at Tactical, he tells CSO Mercedes McCarter to report to Sickbay as well. Naturally, she resists at first, but ends up going "to humor him." Her burns treated, McCarter is at a loss how to occupy her time. As she passes the counsellor's office, she decides to pop in on him and talk to her friend. She notices him rubbing his neck and offers to give him a massage, making him quite uncomfortable. Counsellor/patient relations are not supposed to go where he finds himself wanting their relationship to go and the pangs of his conscience drive him to make Mercedes stop the massage. Just as he is explaining his discomfort, Captain Gibbons drops by. Already nervous and embarrassed, Woods leaps to attention and bangs his leg on his desk. Gibbons smilingly cautions the counsellor, then asks to speak with McCarter and they leave him, mercifully leaving Woods to his bruised shin. When FO Miranda Sands is cleared for duty again, Gibbons asks for a second opinion on ship status. She agrees with his assessment that the ship is capable of continuing, but it would be very risky. Sands volunteers to check with each department individually to get a finer-tuned perspective from which to decide if they should make some information-gathering runs before leaving the area or if they should return to OMEGA for repairs right away. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** CSciO Melody Cuen dreams of being banished from somewhere, and throughout the day she continues to have difficulty concentrating on her work. CSO James Mauler gets trapped on the holodeck due to the blackout caused by the mutated virus, but manages to escape. CMO Bill Patton slowly recovers from the flu infection and remains under the care of his girlfriend, Ensign Kathy Rhule, for the next several hours. OPS Blaze Starsinger interfaces with the computer in order to rid it of the virus, which is slowly wreaking havoc aboard the ship. CNS Bordaq (Tal) and his fiancéée Amy (Human) ask Patton if it's possible for them to have a baby. To their joy, they hear it's possible - although it's a rather complicated process. Later, Bill takes another step towards a relationship with Kathy, and invites her for dinner. Just then, CEO Dariale runs into sickbay with the good news that she's found a cure for the flu virus. They take it to Starsinger, who brings it into the computer systems to battle the digital virus as well. Just as everyone and everything starts to recover, Ensign Electra Threin arrives via D-Warp. Although Patton doesn't know yet, she'll be taking over from him as CMO. Dr. Wednesday, the man who twice abducted FCO Jarek Malaar into another reality, has somehow appeared aboard the Horizon. He's taken into custody, but soon escapes. A search party is sent out, which will hopefully lead to some answers about him. On Kindela, Starsinger's homeworld, a scientist is looking for volunteers to take a trip to a number of alternate realities - or alternities, as she calls them. Arkanis, Cady and the rest of the SpecOps team respond to a summon from Chug, a bully from Cady's youth. Shortly after their arrival, Garal, an old enemy from the Horizon, and a couple of Trasiens take on the likelinesses of the SpecOps members and make their way to the Horizon. There, Garal wants to take revenge on Cmdr. Haynes, former FO, who is visiting the ship. With the help of Ambassador P'Nehbuddar, Captain Tergin succeeds in spoiling her plans. In the meantime, Cady has to fight Chug to be reunited with his boyfriend Madwyn. Cady can keep Chug from killing Madwyn, but Chug manages to escape Cady's rage. Not much later, he returns to kill Madwyn after all. Just when Cady is about to kill Chug, D'Art shoots the boy officer unconscious. Using the Horizon's old stardrive section - which Garal had procured for her plans -, the SpecOps team returns to the Horizon just in time to save Tergin, P'Nehbuddar, Haynes and Garal from the new stardrive, which Haynes had set to self-destruct as revenge on Garal. The next day, Tergin announces he has been promoted to Admiral and will leave to take command of Emerald Fleet. Dr. Patton will also leave; he'll be transferring to the USS Yorktown. Fortunately for him, Kathy can come along as his head nurse. When the staff meeting is over, Bill asks her to marry him. She happily says yes. At the Utopia Planitia Shipyards, LtCmdr. James Burke receives orders to pack on move to the Cocoon. He'll become the new CO of the USS Horizon. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Grayham Tyler ******************************** Omega Star Base: With the trial of Qoensal still under way, Ganston the prosecutor starts off quite strong, but as soon as Nadine Schmidt takes the floor, the proceeding then shifts again as she produces her star witness Ensign Ch'Iv Ss, who brought into the trial some of his own experiences that he had gone through, during the times the Intel Officer was tortured by the Jem Hader. After a few comments being thrown back and forward, from Lt. Ganston and Lt.jg Schmitd, Qoensal starts having some sort of attack, falling to the ground, with his temperature rising so much, Rentarian burnout, filling the room with smoke, blowing his defense lawyer almost 10 feet away from him, as she was doing her very best to try and keep him cool but to no avail. Moments later, McKendrick was spotted, by Nadine Schmitd, pointing and looking throw the smoke filled room, and knows that he has something to do with what just went on. USS Hermes: Thinking that he is going a little senile, Ensign N'Borga (CEO) had his first encounter with Newton an AI program which introduced itself, but due to the nature of the CEO, didn't believe what was going on and went to Sickbay, to make sure he wasn't going crazy, only to find out that everyone does know about Newton. The arrival of the ships new XO, LtCmdr Joshua Ryan arrives. ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** Ensign Goose is able to determine the LEGACY's course to the Degrad System. Marta recovers in Sickbay and accepts Dryden marriage proposal. Foley's and Nonac's evening is interrupted by a visit from her prospective employer. Foley negotiates a better deal before agreeing to her working at a new gaming establishment. TRAX is launched with LtCmdr Fischer, Goose, and Poynton aboard to stop LEGACY's attack. Upon interception, TRAX cooperates with a Degrad Fleet. Speeder is able to open a hole in LEGACY's shields and Fischer, Goose, and Poynton beam aboard. The LEGACY is equipped with the Xu'sorfian planet-buster weapon, all it needs is the interface program in Roberts head. It is being prepared to fire. Fischer, Goose, and Poynton materialize on LEGACY's Bridge. A few well placed phaser shots takes care of the opposition and Axalon is back in control of the ship. Unfortunately the planet-buster weapon is still set on automatic and unable to be stopped. Axalon drops all shields. Roberts, Fischer, Goose, and Poynton beam back to Trax. All ships open fire and destroy the LEGACY and Axalon before the planet-buster fires. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy ************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith (SitRep by Don Ratliff) ********************************** NIGHTINGALE is on her way to DS 101. Canon suggests a procedure to Doctor McCuen that might lead to Kennala's spinal injury being repaired. Plans are made to attempt the surgery the next morning. Pol, Abigail, Paly'n and Kari spend some time on the Holodeck. Thayer speaks with her family via a subspace transmission. T'Mal takes a tour of the ship, purely unintended... he got lost before finally finding his quarters. Lt Thayer has a dream... "Like Sands Through The Hourglass, So Are The Stardates Of Our Lives." NRPG: I suggest that everyone go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/uss-nightingale/ and read posts numbered 662 and 663. They will bring a smile to your face. :-) ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Activity has been reported in the Holack sector, despite the Veil's blockage of subspace communication. The USS HERMES has been sent to investigate. Reports of Talonid invasion into the Cocoon have been determined to be false. The USS JOHN GLENN has reportedly found debris from the destruction of the USS COCHRANE. Search for survivors continues, but none have been found at this time. ***************************************************** Amgine Sector and Andromeda Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
