Fleet Sitrep for SD 14.0120 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Ardeous Brockman ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Captain Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** With the mysterious device now outside her skull, CSO Mercedes McCarter ponders its origin, why it malfunctioned, and its installation. After thinking for some time over the possibilities, she realizes suddenly that it is one of her own designs from when she worked for that villian Jelek. It does now have added mind-control-by-pain functionality, but the other components and the design as a whole scream her name. As far as the malfuncitoning, it probably wasn't designed with SFI dream-channel communication in mind, so Anderson might have indirectly done some good after all. The third question, about when/how it got installed, was the easiest. Considering Jelek's vast network of nefarious cronies, it was undoubtedly implanted while she was lying injured in a medical facility at some point after leaving his employ. Having worked out the mystery to her own satisfaction, Mercedes is now faced with the difficulty of deciding how much to reveal to CO Judah Gibbons, but as she agonizes over this new problem a glance at her chronometershows she is late for her dinner with the captain. In orbit of the moon on which the second COMBINANCE and the recently visited temple rest, HAMILTON suddenly loses the downed ship from sensors, to FO Miranda Sands' surprise. Coordinating with Engineering, they discover that the vessel was never there; a hologram. They return to the moon on which they located the first COMBINANCE and, under heavy fire from the Jiev, find that this ship-in-distress was a fake too. After losing shields and sustaining other damage, Gibbons orders the ship 2 lightyears outside the system so they can reconsider the situation from a distance more condusive to analytical thought. Whoever kept the Jiev from arriving early enough to keep HAMILTON completely at bay was quite helpful, but the SF crew isn't about to duck back in to say their thank yous until some repair work has been done! ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** In order to get rid of her bad dreams, CMO Bill Patton gives CSciO Melody Cuen some medication to ease her tiredness. With the jippaloma flu rapidly spreading amongst the crew, Captain Tergin and CEO Dariale come up with the idea to use holograms to help the Malvedian vets. That way, the animals being transported can receive proper care without the risk of them being contaminated by flu-infected assistants. The cyberpathic OPS Blaze Starsinger interfaces with the computer to do some work there. Unknown to him, the flu virus develops into a digitalform and spreads into the ship's computer. Soon, lights go out and system failures occur all over the Horizon. CNS Bordaq helps Ensign Brander get over the loss of his wife, now over three years ago. The disappearances of FCO/2O Jarek Malaar are caused by a Dr. Wednesday and his worker, Gilbert. They live on Earth in an alternate timeline, and have created a Reality Engine which can transport people from other timelines and dimensions. Malaar doesn't know all of this yet, but is slowly starting to remember his "visit" to Dr. Wednesday's laboratory. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Grayham Tyler ******************************** Getting settled in the new CNS, Ensign Lafayette handles her first patient, but finds that working on a star ship means that even when taking a short break, tends to make extra work. With her next patient being N'borga which is over the Holo programming incident, was finally shut down by Lt.jg Jynn Dal Narimor, but Ens. Ss the CSciO ensures that he will get to the bottom of the situation. Arriving at the Space Station OMEGA, Halifax, CO, meets up with the prosecuting officer Lt. Alex Ganston, for the Qoensal case, the CO attempts to squeeze some information out of him concerning the Court Marshall and any relevant information about the destruction of the USS TYNE. But Lt. Ganston doesn't give much away, and is eager to get the trial started as soon as possible, due to other commitments the CO wasn't able to get much information out of Ganston, but instead had to introduce the new FO of the Hermes, LtCmdr. Joshua Ryan. Informing the now 2O, and CMO, LtComdr. Reetaw'agah, seems to be pleased, allowing her to continue what she loved to do. But with the Hermes currently docked, some of the crew, decide to take a breather and relax in the ships Bar. Qoensal flashbacks seem to be occurring more and more, and with the trial coming up, with a keen interest his Defence Lawyer needs to know what he actually went through and what the Jem hadar did to the Intel officer. ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** The Welcome Home gathering continues for a time. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
