Fleet Sitrep for SD 14.0113 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Ardeous Brockman ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Captain Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** Since the Jiev so desperately want the D-warp shuttle, CO Judah Gibbons is determined not to let them have it. FO Miranda Sands sets course for where the shuttle will emerge from warp and alerts all those who will so they can do a hot relaunch. One outbound passenger is their annoying ex-crewmate Anderson who, in spite of having behaved himself reasonably well recently, is still a liability. In position, the HAMILTON stirs up a hornets' nest of activity on the nearby planet in the form of multiple vessel launches from both the surface and nearby installations. The intercept group begins heading for the far larger SF ship, but Sands assures Gibbons that they will complete the maneuver before the Jiev can interfere. On cue, the D-warp makes its appearance and HAMILTON turns to provide the clearest approach vector. The shuttle is unloaded hastily then boarded before relaunching and going to warp as soon as it safely can. The tasty little prize gone, the Jiev vessels return to their bases and the HAMILTON crew breathes a sighof relief. CSO Mercedes McCarter and Civ Yossarian McCarter are tricked into talking again by their mutual friend Civ Carter Gillespie. After their initial biting comments, Mercedes' remark that you can't pick who you love strikes a chord in her twin brother. Her point sinks into his betrayed-feeling heart and helps him realize in his feelings as well as his brain that she didn't fall in love with Gibbons to hurt him. If she could pick who she fell for, afterall, she likely would --not-- have picked the one man aboard her brother hated. In recognition of having made up, the twins split one of their traditional twin banana popsicles. And just in time to see the new year in, too. Still distraught after talking to her holofriend Mojo, T'krn comes to Gibbons' readyroom to talk about her immoral father Kevala's death. After some soothing and insightful words, Gibbons tells her to take some personal time off to sort out her feelings and her plans for the future. After she accepts this, he offers the use of his listening ear anytime and gives her a sympathetic and brotherly hug before she goes. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** CSciO Melody Cuen has a dream about being banished from the Q Continuum and everyone she holds dear. Problems arise in the Holodeck, where a new crew man decided to spend a few hours relaxing before starting his shift as the new CEO of the HERMES. Following the program which the Ens. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes.
