Fleet Sitrep for SD 14.0106 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Ardeous Brockman ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Captain Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** For once, CSO Mercedes McCarter goes into Sickbay without a struggle and without being unconscious. Before getting on with her appointment with Dr. Rogers, however, she gets a chance to meet the new CMO, Ensign Chip, who is an android. Assuring him that she made prior arrangements for this visit but will probably require his services in the future, Mercedes excuses herself just as Ian Rogers arrives on the scene. He takes her straight in for pre-op and dives right into the proceedure when she is readied. The next thing she knows, she is waking up again and Rogers lets her know the device they removed from inside her skull is in Security lockup just as she requested. She thanks him and leaves, causing Ensign Chip to protest. Rogers tells him that it is wiser to let Mercedes find her own place to rest than to keep her in Sickbay, and Chip takes the experienced staffmember's advice. Mercedes does go easy on herself, too, including leaving the New Year's party before her memories of last year's party become too stressful. The night is notto be completely relaxing, however, for Carter Gillespie, having somehow found out about not only her surgery but the romantic encounter with CO Judah Gibbons, tricks Yossarian McCarter into coming by to catch up after not having spoken to one another for some time. Another squabble occurred elsewhere when FO Miranda Sands and her fiance, CSciO Jur Lehron, disagreed about eggs after demonstrating their replicator's disfunction by asking for an egg and getting a chick. The CEO ignored the set-to while fixing the device then left for a part in Engineering to finish the job. Miranda caught up with her there to apologize for the silliness of their arguing about such a thing while she was trying to work. Jur later surprised Miranda with the chick and a black-and-white kitten. She named the kitten Rorschach, because of its sploches, and Jur named the chick Jeebis. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** To avoid problems with Lt. Later, Ayden takes OPS Blaze Starsinger up on his offer to help him get rid of more of his cybernetics. The SpecOps team continues their investigation into FCO Jarek Malaar's recent disappearances. Dr. Ulinian discovers that Malaar's short-term memory has been wiped, but his long-term memory hasn't. With a bit of luck, the FCO might be able to recall what happened during his absences. SpecOpsXO Nathan Cady receives word that Chug, an adversary from his time on Turkana IV, has captured his friend Madwyn. SOO Arkanis immediately mobilizes his team to free Madwyn. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Holding a staff meeting for the crew of the USS HERMES Ensign Jynn dal Narimor, is promoted to Lt.jg. Ens. After retrieving the searched for data, he returns to the NIGHTINGALE. Along the way he rescues CSO Choksha. Once back onboard, Mrell relates that he discovered that President Horth knew of the attack on the NIGHTINGALE before he came aboard. Horth readily admits as much. He says that he decided to let the attack proceed so that he could round-up those opposed to a settlement between the Helnai and Praq. The Praq representative, Mister Tilira, had been informed of this by President Horth and likewise used the attack in like manner. Stuart congratulates Choksha on a job well done. He even thanks Mrell for his actions. Though neither fully understands the other, a new level of awareness and respect is growing between Mrell and Stuart. Ensign T'Mal constructs a device to offset the warp inhibiting field. On the time-ship USS HERBERT G. WELLS, it is discovered that Angel has escaped. The future Canon and Stuart reminisce about their first meeting with Angel. They decide to not bother searching for Angel, as they know when he will make his next appearance. ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
