Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.1230 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Ardeous Brockman ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Captain Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** The explosion in the brig obliterated the imitators' bodies but their true-selves as bright green energy balls were unaffected and left immediately for Engineering. The three aliens shut down as many systems as possible on their way, then enter and bring down the warp core as well. That done, the three green sparks zip off to the nearest shuttle bay and commandeer one of the craft. After demanding that CSciO Jur Lehron (who was left in charge of the ship) to evacuate HAMILTON within the next 10 minutes, the balls of emerald light abduct CEO William Johnson. Lehron refuses to be dictated to and informs them that the crew will not be leaving the ship. He then repeats his offer to peaceably negotiate for whatever it is they are after, asking them to respond in the next 6 minutes. Johnson awakens aboard the shuttle at approximately the same time and begins watching the shuttle readouts to figure out what his captors are doing. Soon he comes to realize the light globes are preparing to slingshot the antimatterunit they set adrift straight into HAMILTON. Valiantly Johnson decides to sacrifice himself to save the HAMILTON crew and suggests that to the green lights that they tune their tractor beam to 472.8 MHz to avoid feedback from the antimatter unit's containment field. The aliens take his advice at face value, but that frequency disrupts the containment field and blows the antimatter unit, the shuttle, and William Johnson to smithereens, leaving them adrift in the vacuum of space. Meanwhile on the planet, CO Judah Gibbons and CSO Mercedes McCarter decide to follow the boot prints at the bottom of the stairs they descended. The discovery of the prints' owner is quite unwelcome, though, when the Gorn scientist and his companions attack the SF officers. Gibbons manages to phaser down all but one of the Gorn and this one bites into his shoulder when McCarter stabs it in the eye. In response to its attack on her captain, McCarter begins hacking at the creature's knee with a fallen sword and it finally falls. The Gorn bruisingly grabs her leg before death relaxes his grip. The Gorn operation center contains several weapons, some medical supplies, a monitor on the remainder of the Away Team, and a globe holding a green light. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** After the Malvedian colonists have been taken aboard, Captain Tergin has made up his log, and FO Leyson Ayden has returned to the ship, the Horizon sets course for the colony. Ayden, whose cybernetic mouth piece has been removed by Malvedian doctors, visits Sickbay for a check-up byCMO Bill Patton. When he sees Sasha Kali, he takes the opportunity to use his lips for something else than talking and smiling, and kisses her passionately. Later, he stops by the Captain. Tergin is very pleased to see his FO in such a good mood now that he has his mouth back. The CO asks Ayden to head the investigation about last night's strange events. CEO Dariale, recovering in sickbay from her flu, is amazed by the sudden changes in Cmdr. Ayden. When Sasha asks her about her own dating plans, she says she's never felt the need for a partner. Dr. Patton sets aside his reluctance about working together with Ensign Kathy Rhule, and asks her to help him treat some injuries caused by the jippalomas being spacesick. Although he probably doesn't realize so himself, their cooperation is another step towards a romantic relationship. After a talk with FCO Jarek Malaar and another appearance of Jay McMadeth, CNS Bordaq expresses his wish to become a father to his fiancee, Amy DeSantos. She wants to have children as well. The investigation of Jay's appearance doesn't yield any results, and Bordaq believes they're created by nothing more than his own mind. When discussing the matter with the Captain, Tergin draws a parallel with the voices guiding him, and advices Bordaq to seek this out by himself. After enjoying each other's body on a holographic beach, Jarek has a talk with his wife about their marriage. Their talk with Bordaq has got him thinking, but Trinity reassures him that she's happy with the way things are going. Just when their bodies join a second time, Jarek disappears. Almost five hours later, he reappears, without any memory of having disappeared. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Grayham Tyler ******************************** With the arrival of Lt.jg Nadine Schmidt, the CSciO, Ens. Ss was working hard to find the cause of the attack, on the USS TYNE, with a lot of evidence giving him the conclusion that the Energy Weapon that was used had Klingon signatures written all over it. Although some of the crew of the USS Hermes disagree with the findings, the CsciO and his team, determine that it would be near impossible to copy the signature, they continue to figure out who the attacked the ship, and if it was an assassination, killing the Defence Lawyer, Comdr. Hicks. Hearing the news that the Comdr. was killed, Lt. Adex Ganston the Special Prosecuting Attorney, didn't feel much remorse as he felt that it would make his case a little easier to win. But as the Court Marshall draws closer, Qoensals Defence lawyer starts preparing her case, and all the inconsistencies that she has begun to notice, as to Qoensals motives for committing the crimes he is being court marshaled for. Find out next week what happens to the Star Fleet Intel officer next on the USS Hermes. ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** DS 101's Senior Staff is trapped in time. 1841. Earth. Wisconsin. United States of America. FO Fischer and the Queen of the Cingi discuss the situation. The Cingi have a ship in Earth orbit, but no way to communicate with it. Unfortunately the Star Fleet communicators still have not been repaired. If they could be repaired they could be used to establish communication with the orbiting vessel and bring it in for a landing nearby. After making initial plans, Fischer is returned to his normal size and re-joins his crewmates. The blizzard continued. A need for new supplies arises. Mi'Ack and Fischer work on the COMM Badges. The Cingi provide a few coins toward the purchase of new supplies. The snow buildup causes the roof of the cabin to partially collapse. Captain Alyza feels something is not quiet right about the Cingi story of themselves. Meanwhile back on DS 101, Katie, Bel Jackson and Nurse Jacki Liles talk about the Senior Staff's disappearance. Nonac takes her first solo foray about the station. The time-ship, Trax, is able to locate themissing Senior Staff. Attempts at communication fail. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy ************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith (SitRep by Paul Cannon) ********************************** The Starship NIGHTINGALE continues to mediate discussions between the Helnai and Praq, in orbit of the Helnai home world. V'Vorn Choksha, the NIGHTINGALE's new Security Chief, continues to search for Sej, a member of the Praq delegation now missing. The Andorian/Betazoid introduces the idea of a honor "duel" to the Helnai and Praq, a foreign concept to the war mongering race. About 30 ships launch from Helnai, fighter heading for the NIGHTINGALE. The Medical Frigate is no match for the fighters, and the situation is worsened when the fighters activate a warp dampening field, rendering the NIGHTINGALE's warp drive ineffective. FO Stuart continues to speak with various delegates. President Horth announces his planned retirement to Stuart. Receiving word of the fighters' launch, the CO, FO, and President Horth and Tilira join the other senior staff on the Bridge. President Horth and Tilira share what they know of the situation and the NIGHTINGALE crew consider their options. Commander Canon decides to move the NIGHTINGALE as far away as possible. Choksha decides to take several runabouts out to draw fire away from the NIGHTINGALE and to destroy as many of the fighters as possible. Included in the flight crew is Lt. Commander Marcol Narai, who visits Dr. McCuen prior to the flight due to blackouts he has experienced during his re-training. The flight teams are Ensigns Perr and Novak; T'Cao, flying with V'Vorn Choksha; and Dr. McCuen, flying with Marcol Narai. While the flight crews prepare for departure, engineering is having a hard time keeping the shields from failing. In addition, the NIGHTINGALE's new Chief Science Officer, a Vulcan named T'Mal, is knocked unconscious when the main bridge science console explodes in his face. The runabouts depart the NIGHTINGALE and engage the enemy fighters. Several fighters are destroyed, but the NIGHTINGALE is still being hammered hard. Mrell departs in his own shuttle as well, reaching Helnai without major incident. With shields near failure, Ops Officer Ensign Alex Thayer recommends a bold course of action - initiation of an EM pulse. This would knock out all ships in the area... includingM the NIGHTINGALE. Hopefully, the NIGHTIGALE's restart sequence would be faster than that of the fighters. Without warning, the EM pulse is delivered. The NIGHTINGALE, runabouts, and fighters are all disabled. Unfortunately, a group of fighters is still near to the NIGHTINGALE. Admiring the daring plan, and without other apparent options, Choksha attempts to jump to warp, hoping the concentration of subspace 'pollution' inhibiting warp drive is low enough for a quick micro-jump into the fighters. Having left the runabout in an escape pod, Choksha wonders if his tactic worked. ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Activity has been reported in the Holack sector, despite the Veil's blockage of subspacE communication. The USS HERMES has been sent to investigate. Reports of Talonid invasion into the Cocoon have been determined to be false. The USS JOHN GLENN has reportedly found debris from the destruction of the USS COCHRANE. Search for survivors continues, but none have been found at this time. ***************************************************** Amgine Sector and Andromeda Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly constructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
