Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.1216 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Anna Karsten ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Captain Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** At the top of the stairs revealed by the torch-lever, CO Judah Gibbons and CSO Mercedes McCarter find a giant door standing open into an ill-lit passageway. McCarter hears a rumbling and won't budge until she figures out where it is coming from, even when her captain continues forward a step. Gibbons stops when she freezes in her tracks and in that moment something flashes past the opening he was about to step through. When they look down after the object (for the passageway turns out to be a sloped, recessed chute) they see that it was an enormous boulder rolling at high speed. McCarter's wariness saved Gibbons from being crushed. The two use their torch-is-a-switch trick again to open the doors which released the big rock and head up the drop channel. Near the top of the pyramid, FO Miranda Sands and CNS Logaan Woods struggle toward the pinnacle. A short distance from the very top, Sands stops Woods from taking anotherstep and warns him that he was about to tumble through the tangle of vegetation that gave the illusion of solid temple wall and into the depths of the hollow structure. When he asks how they are going to safely get down inside, Sands directs her light between leaves and vines to examine the floor far below then replies that they won't be going all the way down. The chamber floor is covered with poisonous snakes. Leaning over to take a look, Woods pushes a stone which pivots under him. Another switch? Back aboard, CSciO Jur Lehron, left in charge of the ship, receives a report that a huge container of Caspian nuts has broken open in the cargo bay and zillions of the tough little treats are rolling around the floor. Lehron sends the grumbling Lieutenant at the Science station to gather volunteers and clean up the escapees. Meanwhile, Lehron takes over the Science station and gets close to sending a message to the Away Teams when he is interrupted by another attempted jail-break. The imitators of the CO, CEO, and FCO mix together the contents of capsules secreted on their persons to form a volatile goo which they smear on their cell wall. The brig duty officer manages to render them all unconscious before the side of the cells blows, though, so they are on their way to Sickbay (if anything is left of them) rather than headed to freedom. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** OPS Blaze Starsinger makes some suggestions to CMO Bill Patton about removing FO Leyson Ayden's implants. Although his ideas have potential, Ayden prefers to visit the Malvedians' advanced cybernetics laboratory. On his way there, he notices that he receives no stares at his cybernetics, something which happens all too often with other races. Even more, he comes across a shop offering "goods for the cybernetic enthusiast". After a talk with the owner, he agrees to come back if the ACL can't help him. Back on the ship, Nathan Cady is introduced to parenthood by Trinity Layne-Malaar. Although baby Zadie is "da pwettiest ittle ting" he's ever seen, changing her diaper isn't something he likes doing yet. CEO Dariale enters sickbay with what she calls a little cold, but is in fact an unfamiliar type of influenza. As Patton begins work on an antidote, another victim comes in. The Malvedian scientist investigating Ayden's cybernetics notices they're made of a material that, as far as the Malvedians, Federation and Hetgarot know, only exists on Malvedia. Combined with the fact that the cybernetics are far more advanced than what they can do now, this leads him to speculate Ayden got his implants from Malvedians who came from the future. Ensign Luchrist Papalamos, a linguistic specialist from OP108, continues to be interrupted in her work with Arwin Blackblade by the ship's anthropologist, Lt. Garret Yudel. She ends up pointing out his incompetence and is later called by CSciO Melody Cuen, presumably to answer for her insubordination. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Grayham Tyler ******************************** Qoensal, Ruby and Jynn head down to engineering to sort this Omega particle problem out once and for all. Jynn wasn't overly convinced that SF Intel officer could be trusted knew that Qoensal was needed. But before the three could do anything, they had to work a way to get the systems they needed back from Newton who had almost gained access to all of the ships systems, and seemed to be getting in the way, instead of being a help to the crew. Within minutes Newton had managed to regain communications. Every crew member knew that containing these Omega particles would be risky, as the two ships, the USS Hermes, and the USS Missouri, find themselves working on different ideas to contain the particles. As communications came through, they realized this, using the Missouri's plan as a back up, as they agreed to follow the plans of the Hermes. Everything seemed to be in place, as Ruby and Jynn, once again explained what the out come would be for Qoensal, if this plan of theirs didn't work. Within the allocated 10 minutes, they released the three billion Tachyon particles, which was hoped to leave the OMEGA particles dormant, but it had done more, in dissolved all of the remaining goo, and left a slight subspacial rift, and as the rift closed, the Particles disappeared with in it. But before any of the Hermes crew could relax, Captain Malfoy hailed them, seeing Qoensal and ordering his arrest, Rentarian Officer, was to be court martial, under general order # 21 sub Para 3.5.6- endangerment of SF crew, and then for MURDER. Know what he has done, and attempted to do, Cpt. Halifax, although feeling a little guilty, ordered Jynn to place the SF Intel Officer under arrest, surrendering his sidearm, he and Jynn headed to the Brig. Capt. Ardeous Brockman from the Omega Starbase, contacted the CO of the USS Hermes to inform his that there will be a ship sent out, also informing Cpt. Halifax that Commander Braxton Hicks, will be defending Lt. Qoensal the Intel Officer. ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** DS 101's Senior Staff is trapped in time. 1841. Earth. Wisconsin. United States of America. Doctor Poynton returns with the supplies from town. Once again the light, a satellite perhaps, is seen traversing the night sky. Kersh is anxious about his son, who is still on DS 101. The return of Poyntonand infusion of fresh supplies leads to a night of story-telling around the campfire. Roberts thinks that Trax, the time ship, might come looking for them. For the first time, Roberts opens up some. He express sorrow at his actions that resulted in the death of billions. He apologies to Alyza for failing her trust, but he cannot remember Alyza's name. Apparently the mental deterioration continues. Fischer studies the Statue. It has become hot to the touch, but does not melt the snow. As Fischer is holding it, the Stature slides off into the forest. Fischer follows. Led by the Statue he finds a tree with a push-button disguised on its trunk. Fischer summons the crew. After all had gathered, Fischer pushed the button and was reduced in to a size of about 20 cm. Meanwhile back on DS 101 Nonac searches for Ens Foley. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy ************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Lieutenant-Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith ********************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Activity has been reported in the Holack sector, despite the Veil's blockage of subspace communication. The USS HERMES has been sent to investigate. Reports of Talonid invasion into the Cocoon have been determined to be false. The USS JOHN GLENN has reportedly found debris from the destruction of the USS COCHRANE. Search for survivors continues, but none have been found at this time. ***************************************************** Amgine Sector and Andromeda Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
