Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.1202 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Anna Karsten ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Captain Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *Tired of trying to regain the shuttle, CO Judah Gibbons orders the vessel destroyed rather than leaving it intact in Jiev hands. After making sure the nacelles in particular were completely destroyed, Gibbons orders the HAMILTON into the atmosphere of the M-class moon harboring the guarded COMBINANCE. Just as he is about to order the allocation of the remaining power in the next step of his plan, he pauses uncharacteristically then orders the ship back into space and out of the system. FO Miranda Sands is perturbed by the sudden double-back and, from other signals becomes more and more suspicious of their captain as well as CEO William Johnson. To test her gut feeling, Miranda asks Johnson an Engineering question, then makes a light-hearted joke about his response. Her suspicions are confirmed when the fake engineer smiles and laughs lightly, definately --not-- what the real Johnson's response would be. Casually, Miranda asks CSO Mercedes McCarter for a private word in the Observation Lounge. In private, M & M agree that there is something fishy about their "captain" and "engineer." When queried, the computer maintains that Gibbons and Johnson are not about and, when questioned further, states that CNS Logaan Woods is gone too. The two women return to the bridge and take "Gibbons" and "Johnson" into custody rather easily. "Woods" kicks up a bit of a fuss, at one point in a Mexican Standoff with M & M's security team back-ups, but is bloodlessly taken into custody as well. Mercedes' interrogation of the impostors kicks off with her reassurance that their appearances will not keep her from slicing them to bits if they are uncooperative. At their continued defiance, Mercedes hands them PADDs containing summaries from her mental list of 1001 Ways to Die Painfully and Messily... so they can choose how they will go. They begin singing like canaries, spilling everything they know that might be useful. Meanwhile, the lost originals are planetside treking through tropical forest and looking for somewhere near drinkable water to spend the night. A small cabin near a spring all but sends them an engraved invitation and they thankfully begin gathering firewood and making preparations to hunt & gather a dinner for themselves. While Johnson is off gathering wood, Gibbons and Woods see a form almost solidify in front of them but become clear and then vanish before the transition is completed. Gibbons recognizes their almost-fourth as ex-FCO Tim Anderson, and they savor the hope that HAMILTON has already begun rescue attempts. Johnson's long absence worries them after Anderson nearly joins them, and they go looking for the Engineer. When they find their unconscious crewmate, his chewed hand and bitten ankle testify to what happened and they prepare to haul him back to the relative safety of the cabin. ************************** ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** Cady and Arkanis engage in a zero-G battle to celebrate the young officer's return. Either Advanced Tactical Training improved Cady's battle skills, or Ark was going easy on him, because the match end in a tie. Still, the large crowd had a good time, not in the least due to SpecOps Agent Wolf's commentary. Despite the safety protocols, though, Cady's shoulder ends up dislocated. While putting the limb back in place, CMO Bill Patton is rather distracted by Ensign Kathy Rhule, the woman he met in the turbolift the other day. On his way to dinner with the Captain and Or, Cady literally runs into FO Leyson Ayden. Although not known for his friendliness, Ayden can't hide the fact that he is glad to have the young man aboard. In the lounge, CNS Trinity Layne-Malaar has a talk with Triana, Ark's girlfriend. Although Triana has been with Ark for months now, she's never asked how he feels about her, afraid his answer would disappoint her. At the staff meeting, Arkanis hears the assignment for his SpecOps team consists of guarding the Malvedians' jippalomas, big elephant-like animals. Elsewhere, Galibda and Dedican, two young Malvedian zoologists, share the unpleasant duty of gathering jippaloma diarrhea for analysis. SpecOps Agent Luntas experiences a vivid nightmare about the death of her family. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Grayham Tyler ******************************** Coming straight from The Omega Space station, the two recentgraduates from the USS Destiny, noticed that the USS Hermes was engulfed by the some glassy goo, unable board the ship, they attempt to contact Comdr. Halifax, but with no success, as out going communication is down. Both Ensign Ss and Ensign Lafayette board the USS MISSOURI, and where Ens. Peranzules is also trying to figure out a way to get the USS Hermes free. Meanwhile the crew of both Hermes and the Missouri, are shocked to see that Qoensal is able to destroy the liquid, by using Omega particles, the crew and their CO, know that this is against the StarFleet Directives which could not only put Qoensal is danger but also the crew and the USS Hermes. ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** Ensign Goose checks in at Sickbay complaining of a neck ache. Doctor Poynton diagnoses muscle fatigue and tells him to take a couple of days off. Goose pays a visit to Capt Alyza to try and get her to release him back to duty. But Alyza stands by the CMO's orders. Before Goose can return to his quarters he is called to a bar to quell a minor disturbance caused by old acquaintance. Once he arrives at the bar he finds his friend, a Bolian named Ty. They hardly have time to exchange two words, before Ty passes out from the synthenol. Goose carries Ty to his quarters and nurses his friend's hangover. Capt Alyza begins a study of Earth history and asks Fischer what he thought was the most representative period. Fischer's opinion is that the Industrial Revolution was the most significant. Later, the remains of the molten Statue is carried to the Science Labs. The molten blob morphs in several different shapes. Ensign Perry lets his sense of humor get a bit out of hand with all this 'shape-shifting' and finds himself in hot water with the Captain. Alyza orders Perry to undergo counseling evaluation and medical examination.. Kersh, meanwhile, is anxious to see Katie once again and tries to sneak out of Sickbay. The Medical Staff puts that plan on the unsuccessful pile. Luckily Katie pays him a visit and they have a picnic in Sickbay. Kersh asks Katie to marry him... She says 'Yes!'. Ensign Mi'Ack, newly minted from the Academy, arrives to assume the duties of Chief Engineering Officer. Kris goes to Roberts' quarters and surprised at his friends condition. The neural program in Roberts' brain is slowly causing memory loss and will eventually, perhaps soon, kill him. Roberts asks Kris to take him to the LEGACY. There might be something on the LEGACY that would help. Kris takes the request to Capt Alyza, who give official permission. Doctor Poynton reviews the data from his recent exam of Roberts and spots the decrease in neural activity. He immediately contacts Roberts for a 'stat' re-examination. Foley's court-martial is cut short on orders from Starfleet command. Known to Starfleet, but unknown to Foley, is the fact that Foley is a 'communication conduit' with a race of beings that should arrive at DS 101 within the next six months. Because of this a full-fledged court-martial, imposing the punishment required by Foley's breach of regulations is not possible. In the Science Lab, study of the molten statue continues. Alyza vanishes while studying the artifact. At the same time all senior officers vanish from DS 101. They find themselves in a forest clearing on Earth, Wisconsin to be precise, apparently in the mid-19th Century. The find an abandoned log cabin to spend the night and set about finding water, wood, and food. Lt Fischer is attacked by a wolf, fortunately the injury is something that Dr Poynton can handle. They find a small amount of local money in the cabin. A list of desired equipment is made and Dr Poynton sets out to find the nearest 'shopping center'. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy ************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Lieutenant-Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith ********************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Activity has been reported in the Holack sector, despite the Veil's blockage of subspace communication. The USS HERMES has been sent to investigate. Reports of Talonid invasion into the Cocoon have been determined to be false. The USS JOHN GLENN has reportedly found debris from the destruction of the USS COCHRANE. Search for survivors continues, but none have been found at this time. ***************************************************** Amgine Sector and Andromeda Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
