Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.1021 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Anna Karsten ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Captain Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** CSO Mercedes McCarter is knocking back Long Island Iced Teas in the Lounge when CNS Logaan Woods finds her. This time her brother isn't on speaking terms with her because he believes she is in love with his enemy, CO Judah Gibbons, and a SFI agent (officially) cut loose from Intelligence has been made their OPS officer. Focusing on her disrupted relationship with her twin, Logaan advises her to be the "bigger person" by going to him and attempting reconciliation. She offers him a drink as a thank you and he finds himself staring at her, enthralled, until she catches him at it. After a hasty thanks-you-know-where-to-find-me-bye, Logaan dashes off to the safety of his quarters and his sister's company. The interrogation of the holographic duplicate of new OPS Tom Anderson's mind doesn't yield much. The duplicate does admit to being put aboard to discover as much as possible about the HAMILTON, but after triggering the defenses against this type of interrogation several times, CO Gibbons leaves the unlucky hologram in Mercedes' hands before erasure. The real Tom Anderson finds himself not only standing up but standing at attention when Gibbons gives him a bawling out that would warm the heart of any drill sergeant. The two main points the HAMILTON captain hits are: 1) Don't threaten me or mine 2) Limit your responses to 'yes, Sir,' 'no, Captain,' and the like when you have permission to speak at all. Gibbons then hands over the orders Anderson brought with him which state, clear as day, that he has been disavowed and should be considered a completely normal SF officer with a recommendation for advancement. After witnessing Anderson's "welcome," XO Miranda Sands brings in her findings about the mine's message logs quickly to let the SFI topic cool a bit. After hypothesizing about how genuine the messages as well as the two COMBINANCE commanders are, Sands carefully and diplomatically asks if Gibbons holds something in particular against SFI. Embarrassed but released, Anderson makes his way to his quarters where he finds the mess the disappointed Security team left after finding nothing incriminating in his personal effects. Another straw is laid on the camel when he discovers the captain has denied him replicator priviledges. His evening is made though when, as he is sleeping, an Admiral contacts him via a specialized cranial implant to reassure him that the disavowal is not real but only for Gibbons' sake. He warns Anderson that he will be working without the net of SFI's support, however, at least until his mission has been completed. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** CSciO Melody Cuen, while recovering in sickbay, lends CMO Bill Patton a helping hand with their latest patient: an unknown man who has just appeared aboard the ship. With the universal translator not picking up his language, investigating his situation isn't easy. Later, with the patient stabilized, Patton takes a break and hops over to OP108. He returns with an Authentic Stainless Steel Coffee Maker (TM), hoping to finally get a better cup than he's been getting from the replicators. During the staff meeting, the next day, Tergin promotes Bill Patton and OPS Blaze Starsinger to full Lieutenant for their excellent service to the Horizon and the Federation. More than the promotion itself, Patton appreciates the feelings of warmth and acceptance from his colleagues. By now, Starsinger seems to have fully recovered from his near-death during the recent mission. Oddly, though, his hair had lost its colours upon his return to the ship. After getting Ensign Luchrist Papalomos, a linguistic specialist, under way with CSciO Cuen to program the UT for the mysterious man in sickbay, FO Leyson Ayden joins Captain Tergin in welcoming two agents from Temporal Investigations aboard. As the FO leads them away from Tergin, who doesn't like one of the agents at all, a second shuttle arrives. Replacing CNS Darlene Houston, Bordaq has returned to the Horizon. After a mind-meld with the Horizon's former astCNS, Jay McMadeth, enabling the latter to destroy the Section 31 ship USS Infinity, Bordaq has lost all his engineering knowledge in favour of Jay's counselling techniques. In the meantime, over at the ship yards, a tall alien man is looking for the Horizon. As striking a figure as the man is, most people have never seen him before. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Grayham Tyler ******************************** Following after Lt. Qoensal(SF Intel), Halifax (CO) and the HERMES crew prepare for what they plan to do when they reach their destination. Colonel McKendrick comes up with an idea, who is advising Jynn and they come up with, firing a torpedo filled with rhodium-63 in front of the shuttle, which will shut down the shuttle, disabling the power systems, the CO agrees with these plans, and orders Foster(CSciO) to help McKendrick prepare the torpedo. Inside Qoensal's Runabout, the SF Intel Officer started to prepare the blue-cobalt device, which was already set. Just as Halifax ordered the crew to fire the torpedo in the direction of the runabout, Qoensal's released the blue-cobalt device and the runabout turned and set engines to warp, just as the SF Intel Officer left the scene. The torpedo suddenly hit the device causing a huge explosion. Leaving the USS HERMES in total darkness except for life-support, with the engines not responding, and some kind of substance appearing in gigantic quantities had already engulfed the runabout, they sent SOS messages to the USS MISSOURI but the communication systems were not working or the USS MISSOURI was not in the area anymore, but what ever the case is the HERMES couldn't do anything. How are they going to get out of this? Find out next week on USS HERMES. ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** Poynton and his team arrive in the City to rescue First Officer Fischer. Kersh and Dryden, instead of freeing Fischer, find themselves his prisoners. Captain Alyza becomes convinced that the residents of the Sphere are actually transplants from the other three worlds of the system. Speeder is transported back aboard the HIKARU with a dilithium crystal and CEO Tuvar begins repairs. Faced with a deadline from Fischer to turn over the HIKARU or see the captured crew killed one by one, Alyza makes plans to defend the ship from take-over. On the Sphere: Fischer (the Instrument) realizes the predicament he has gotten himself into. His Superiors, those controlling the Instrument part of Fischer, are displeased with his reluctance to execute the prisoners. The Superiors insist upon completion of the threat...and the Great Work. With Alyza watching on video-link, Fischer (now back in control of his mind and body, thanks to an agreement worked out with the Instrument portion of his mind) fired a phaser at Kersh. Struck with the phaser blast Kersh collapses. On the viewscreen, Alyza could see that Fischer had purposedly set the phase to 'stun'. In the City, a group of eleven natives gather. They are the leaders of the resistance movement, combating the senseless violence that the Great Work is fostering. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy ************************** No Report Submitted ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Lieutenant-Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith ********************************** No Report Submitted ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Activity has been reported in the Holack sector, despite the Veil's blockage of subspace communication. The USS HERMES has been sent to investigate. Reports of Talonid invasion into the Cocoon have been determined to be false. The USS JOHN GLENN has reportedly found debris from the destruction of the USS COCHRANE. Search for survivors continues, but none have been found at this time. ***************************************************** Amgine Sector and Andromeda Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
