Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.0909 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Anna Karsten ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Commander Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** After receiving a message informing her of her almost- romantic-interest-definite-friend Lt Michael Pachuco's death by suicide, CSO Mercedes McCarter actually (porcine creatureszipping around in the air here) sought out CNS Logaan Woods to talk about it. Logaan does manage to comfort her somewhat before she snaps out of her trusting, vulnerable state and notices his spots. She takes him straight to Sickbay (after putting on some sunglasses to disguise her from the doctor and hide her puffy eyes) where her diagnosis of chicken pox is confirmed. FCO Tom Slater no sooner is excused from Sickbay after recovering from deadly injuries than he also contracts the disease and returns to Sickbay scratching all over. aCSO Chandler T'krn-McCarter and Yossarian McCarter come down with it as well, but manage to persuade Doctor Rogers to make house calls to their honeymoon cottage rather than subjecting them to the "horror" of Sickbay. CO Judah Gibbons is still being treated in Sickbay when Jolie McCarter comes for their promised dinner bringing a loaded picnic basket. As they eat, they discuss Jolie's always interesting family and her plans which reminds her to invite him to the party the McCarter twins are each giving the other. Judah's admission that Jolie might not get clearance to stay aboard leaves her very unsettled, but he promises to do what he can. Their basket emptied, a worried Jolie leaves the captain to his briefing with FO Miranda Sands. Sands reports all well with the ship, though they still have Slater's doppelganger to deal with and Gibbons decides they will request new orders from SF the day after Mercedes and Yossarian's party to give everyone a chance to slip back into the saddle gently. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** In An Alternate Time-Line: At SB Omega, the USS Sojourner-Truth gives everything she has, but the enemy is too strong. Along with her crew, she dies a hero's death. CSO James Mauler uses the information provided by his alleged father to increase phaser power. aCEO Bordak and SOO Arkanis enjoy their pre-war workout on the holodeck. Afterwards, Bordak ponders about his current situation. He decides that in times of war, you just have to forget everything around you and fight. FCO Phryn follows a hunch and looks up info about Ensign Drell, one of the junior officers in his department. He can't find anything to satisfy the feeling that he'd met Drell before coming aboard the Horizon. Then Phryn remembers he did indeed once know a man called Drell, but that was an Admiral. Later that day, the Federation fleet assumes formation around OP108 and prepares to engage the enemy. The USS Heracles has gone ahead and makes contact with the enemy well away from OP108. Their subspace weapons destroy dozens of ships, but with still a few hundred vessels remaining, it makes little difference. When the Herc is about to be overpowered, the USS Integrity decloaks and joins the battle. Destroying high numbers of enemy ships with ease, the top-secret ship paves the way for the Herc's retreat to OP108. However, even the Integrity can't take on 400 vessels on her own. After a final run, they cloak and head to OP108. In the meantime, OPS Blaze Starsinger is successful in infiltrating the Romulan computer system. The cyberpath begins his secret battle, hoping to strike some blows before the enemy reaches OP108. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Scott Bassitt ******************************** ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** Lt Fischer (FO), Ens Goose (CSO), Ens Poynton (CMO), and Ens Tel'drak (OPS) beam aboard the THREE RIVERS to aid the Yawetag vessel during the crisis. While they are away a tractor beam locks onto the HIKARU and begins pulling them toward the cave entrance. The THREE RIVERS attempts to fire a torpedo at the suspected source of the tractor beam. The resulting debris and dust disrupts the tractor beam for a couple of seconds, but it re-locks and pulls the HIKARU into the cavern. Fischer waits for the sound of HIKARU crashing, but it didn't come. The HIKARU crashes on the planet's surface, but not the planet of the THREE RIVER's crash site. Instead they are on the Fourth Planet of the Legend. HIKARU's dilithium crystals have vanished. In the distance, a burning city is visible. A civil war is underway. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy ************************** ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Lieutenant-Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith (SitRep by Scott Bradley) ********************************** In sickbay, Kel and Wral work on a captured Praq, studying the creature's ability to transform and the link to emotional responses. Stuart launches his plan to rescue the ship's psis from the Helnai camp, and split-second timing and impeccable planning save the day. The psis are beamed aboard, although Canon and some others remain comatose. Mrell, acting on his own, beams down to the planet and uses his considerable talents to rig a rain of destruction in the Helnai government house should the species take over the Nightingale. Upon his return, the Cardassian and the FO get into another heated discussion over Mrell's actions. Later, Stuart goes through Mrell's files, revealing that the natural deterioration of the species' dilithium crystal supply is wreaking havoc with their socioeconomic system, leading to a possible clue to the Helnai's interest in the Nightingale and her technology to regenerate the crystals. Meanwhile, Paly'n tells an awakened Kennala of her condition, which she responds to with considerable aplomb as the doctor copes with an inner struggle dealing with his past self, which seeks vengeance, and his current one, which sees no need for it. The Commander finally awakens from his coma and gets settled back into the rhythms of duty, calling Stuart and Mrell, with McCuen in tow, into his ready room to sort everything out. ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Activity has been reported in the Holack sector, despite the Veil's blockage of subspace communication. The USS HERMES has been sent to investigate. Reports of Talonid invasion into the Cocoon have been determined to be false. The USS JOHN GLENN has reportedly found debris from the destruction of the USS COCHRANE. Search for survivors continues, but none have been found at this time. ***************************************************** Amgine Sector and Andromeda Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
