Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.0826 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Anna Karsten ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Commander Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** Rescued from toxic sludge and the Winston brothers, CO Judah Gibbons now has to survive Jolie McCarter's bedside vigil over him. Weakened and ashen-skinned from the ooze he encountered during their dive, he gets nothing but shushes from Jolie and none of the medical staff seem available to come to the rescue. aCSO Chandler McCarter however does come to the rescue of the Treehouse Lounge staff, rescuing them from her husband's drunken caterwauling. After surreptitiously injecting him with something to sober him up, Chandler lets Yossarian know that his nemesis, the captain, was recovered alive, but he refuses to let that get him down, commenting that they are still on their honeymoon and that's plenty to celebrate. The next day, FO Miranda Sands makes a discovery worth celebrating. Having snuck into Tino Winston's office, she hacks into his and his brother's messages, finding evidence that the twins are raking in the dough by illegally dumping toxic chemicals for an out-of-system company. Feeling a bit under the weather from her progressing bacterial infection, Miranda goes to the HAMILTON lounge to order a particular drink from her uncle (the bartender) that tends to make her feel better. CSO Mercedes McCarter is there, feeling the affects of the same affliction, and the FO asks her uncle for two doses of the restorative. They wind up making their order to go though, when the doctor arrives, chasing the two "medicophobes" from their haven to a new hiding place in the quarters of Mercedes' Texan friend, Carter Gillespie, who is still planet-side. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** The heavily damaged drive section launches a probe to attract the saucer's attention. aCEO Bordak comes up with the idea to use the combined warp power from the shuttles to tow the drive section from the nebula. However, as the aCSciO finds, it would take them over six months to escape that way. Preferring to be home sooner than that, FO Ayden decides to pack the remaining crew in a shuttle and a runabout. After setting ten torpedoes to destroy the ship, the two crafts leave. Hours later, they are picked up by the saucer. What none of the crew knows, however, is that the drive section has been saved from destruction by their adversary Thylassa Korian. CEO Dariale escapes her kidnappers and returns to the Horizon. When the SpecOps team has also arrived back aboard, the journey home begins. The USS Mauritania sets course for the wormhole connecting the Andromeda and Milky Way galaxies, the Horizon's saucer in tow behind her. As things settle down a bit, Bordak discusses his situation with Captain Tergin. The CO tells him he has to forget about his counterpart, and live his own life. In the lounge, Ayden and Captain Diak have a talk about losing crew under your command, and the need for everyone to have company. The FO ends up inviting Diak to join him for a holodeck exercise the next morning, and the Andorian captain gladly agrees. Shortly later, the saucer exits the wormhole, and the crew is back in the Cocoon. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Scott Bassitt ******************************** ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** Kersh and Dryden find references to the Three Stars in Hetgarot fiction, a tale of star-crossed lovers. The story hints to the presence of a fourth star, as yet unfound. Somewhere else in the universe a being awakens from his stasis unit. This being, who calls himself 'The Instrument', awakens now because the 'One' has been found. He begins his subspace voyage to the area of the Three Stars. As his ship emerges from subspace, it collides with the HIKARU, breaks in half. One half falls back into subspace, the other breaks apart. The Instrument is rescued by the HIKARU. Although severely injuried, he response to Dr Poynton's treatment and relates his engimatic tale to all. He relates no that 'The One' has been found, the 'Great Work' will be completed. He, himself, does not know where 'The One' is, nor what the 'Great Work' will be. Not knowing quiet what to make of the Story, Fischer agrees that 'The Instrument' may accompany the HIKARU on their investigation of the Three Stars. A Security escort is provided and 'The Instrument' is shown about the ship. Capt Alyza and Cmdr Tuvar are injured in the collision. Alyza fortunately has only a mild concussion and is soon up and about. Tuvar remains in Sickbay, stable but unconscious. Roberts and the Ratchets begin repair damages sustained in the collision. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy GM: Adam West ************************** ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Lieutenant-Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith (SitRep by Scott Bradley) ********************************** The away team, consisting of Stuart, Thayer, Mrell, Wral, Kennala, and redshirt Boman (which I believe is ancient Greek for "cannon fodder" - or would that be "Canon fodder?"), arrives on the planet. Unknown to them, the Helnai president has alterior motives, and has set some kind of mysterious plot into motion against the Nightingale and her crew. Mrell, in search of information, vanishes and reappears minutes later, in search of "the lavatory." Hmm. I didn't know Cardassians did that sort of thing. Anyways, the rest of the away team, uneasily assessing the situation, conclude that something is amiss with the Helnai. Mrell returns, and the negotiations commence with little progress. Back on board the Nightingale, McCuen discovers that the psis onboard the ship have been afflicted with visions that they believe are the ghosts of loved ones lost. These visions seem to accompany a fatigue in those afflicted, which include Commander Canon. Pol, told by Paly'n to rest, does so and gives Paly'n the bridge. Stuart and the away team, convinced that the Helnai are stalling, report the negotiations' status to the Nightingale, and Stuart plans some late-night reconnaissance planetside. Heh, heh. Ensign Kel, working on a cure for the Helnai's schizophrenia, comes across what seems to be a meeting of the ship's psis, who appear to have been transformed physically, and are planning an attack on the ship. The "darkling" Canon attacks Kel, and the CSciO seals the psis in as he is struck by a phaser. After awakening in sickbay, he and Paly'n discuss the situation, and Kel, in Astrometrics, discovers that the Nightingale may be trapped in a spiderweb ot sorts. He discovers that the Helnai have telepathic abilities, and discovers what he believes to be a cloaked array concealed behind a nearby planet. McCuen tells him to take a shuttle to the planet, as the away team may be in some sort of danger. ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Activity has been reported in the Holack sector, despite the Veil's blockage of subspace communication. The USS HERMES has been sent to investigate. Reports of Talonid invasion into the Cocoon have been determined to be false. The USS JOHN GLENN has reportedly found debris from the destruction of the USS COCHRANE. Search for survivors continues, but none have been found at this time. ***************************************************** Amgine Sector and Andromeda Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
