Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.0819 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Anna Karsten ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Commander Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** After bringing back a sample of the odd 'smelling' water, FO Miranda Sands and CSO Mercedes McCarter go on a second dive to more thoroughly investigate. The first thing they discover is the undertow Jolie McCarter, Judah's diving partner and Mercedes' sister, mentioned. As a matter of fact, they wind up caught in the undertow and swept into a mostly vertical cavern with an underwater enterance. When they swim up to the surface, they find themselves in the secret base of Basler and Tino Winston. The two ladies see Judah lying on the rocky cavern shore just moments before Basler discovers him as well and has Tino haul the unconscious HAMILTON captain away to a lab elsewhere in the facility. Once the beach was deserted, Miranda and Mercedes emerged from the water and stripped off the most cumbersome portions of their diving equipment and tracked the Winston twins to a door down the righthand tunnel. Basler answers a polite knock at the door only to find nothing but a comm badge, lying on the tunnel floor. Whenhe steps out of the lab to retrieve the device, though, Miranda and Mercedes trip him and Mercedes knocks him out. After running through the same routine with Tino, M & M tie the twins securely to each other in an out-of-sight alcove further down the tunnel. They then retrieve Judah from the lab and take him back to the cavern shore where they wash the strange gray-brown goo off of him. At the same time, the Winston twins reawaken and cooperatively lever themselves up off the floor. Basler then activates the retinal scanner that will open the door to the secondary control room the girls had left them in front of. Once inside, he switches on the bacterial defenses for the main cavern area and Miranda and Mercedes blackout. Fortunately, the HAMILTON had regained communications just moments before and OPS Zachary Bentley hailed them. When they fail to respond, the belleagured heroines and the captain are beamed straight to the HAMILTON Sickbay. The doctor has to protest when, upon awakening, Miranda and Mercedes both want to return immediately to the surface to bring the bad guys in, but a protest is all he gets, though they maintain a constant transporter lock and keep an open comm channel. M & M sneak up behind Basler and Tino back in the cavern and put a headlock on each before calling for beamout. That brings the total of people in the brig awaiting interrogation to three, with Chandler's 'father,' Kevala. Miranda and Mercedes then finally listen to their bodies' cries for sleep and return each to their own quarters. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** USS HORIZON Situation Report SD. 13.0715 - 13.0819 SOO Arkanis takes a shuttle to find out what has happened to Captain Diak. Bordak reports to engineering, where a warp core breach is about to occur. After the former CEO has explained his situation, FO Ayden places him in command of avoiding the breach. On the bridge, Captain Tergin gives the order to prepare for saucer seperation. OPS Starsinger interfaces with the computer to battle the virus that is apparently causing the core breach, but he's knocked out before he can report his findings to Ayden. As if there isn't enough to be concerned about, CSciO Melody Cuen experiences an identity crisis. She thinks she's a Q again, and is confused as to where her powers have gone. As it turns out, Ayden and Starsinger aren't able to stop the core breach. The ship separates, and the drive section jumps to warp to take the explosion away from the saucer. The core is ejected in mid-warp, and the ensuing explosion hurls the drive section into a nebula. As the surviving crew soon discover, they have sustained extensive damage, including propulsion and main power. In sickbay, CMO Patton has his hands full with the numerous casualties. Among them is Cmdr. Ayden, whose abdomen has been cut to pieces by a part of a console. The injuries are too severe for Patton to do something, but fortunately the FO's cybernetics seem to be doing a good repairing job. When he awakes some time later, he immediately wants to return to work. Despite the good doctor's efforts to convince him otherwise, he pushes through and leaves sickbay. On the battle bridge, CSO Mauler gives him a report of the situation. About the only systems working are short range sensors, the viewscreen, and life support. Bordak has reported the ship as being unsalvageable. All over the ship, the fighting spirit soon makes place for a feeling of defeat. In the meanwhile, the saucer has picked up all escape pods and sets a course to find the drive section. Suddenly, the USS Mauritania appears, and opens fire without warning. After a brief exchange of fire, a shuttle departs from the ship, carrying two Trasiens and a human. At the same time, the Mauritania stops firing. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Scott Bassitt ******************************** ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** This week on Star Trek: DS 101: The HIKARU sets out to investigate the sudden appearance of three stars, where there were none. Lt Fischer searches the data bases for any previous information. He is particularly interested in previous Hetgarot descriptions of the area. asst CSci Ens Perrin Jones goes to the holodeck seeking to satisfy his coursity about what would happen if he 'blew-up' DS 101. Cmdr Roberts, ordered aboard the HIKARU, expresses his dismay to Capt Alyza about why, after all this time, she chooses him for official duty on the mission. Alyza explains that she is dissatisfied with Roberts only doing things that appeal to him, avoiding every official assignment.. Despite his past actions, Roberts is still a member of Star Fleet and he will contribute The Yawetag rehabilitation vessel THREE RIVERS also experiences the after-effects of the star's sudden appearance. One of it's passengers, Htide (being treated for Eintocin addiction), has a very vivid dream foretelling the event. The THREE RIVERS finds itself in orbit around one of the newly appeared planets. It 'crashes' and the occupants finds the ship embedded inside a giant cave. Htide makes contact, of sorts, with an intelligence. He is asked to find 'the sphere', just what that is...he is unsure. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy GM: Adam West ************************** ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Lieutenant-Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith (SitRep by Scott Bradley) ********************************** The USS Nightingale: what it was, what it is, what it will be. This week, the crew finally meets up with the Helnai and the Praq, who demand that the Nightingale leave their system. After a confrontation with the commander, they back down and agree to escort the Nightingale to their planet, and Paly'n observes a shift in the biology of the two species that may indicate that the Helnai and the Praq are one and the same: a schizophrenic race. As Stuart prepares to lead an away team, he bumps into Mrell, and the two get into another verbal scuffle, this one over the risks involved on the Nightingale. As they wrap up their little tiff, Stuart is surprised to see that Mrell will join him on the away team that is to report to the Helnai homeworld. Also joining the away team are Ensign Thayer and Ensign Kennala. Ensign Kel is told to remain aboard the Nightingale in order to work on a solution to the Helnai-Praq's schizophrenia. In his ready room, Commander Canon sees a vision of his lost love, Abigail, which shakes him enough to snap at Stuart. Later, Dr. McCuen checks in on him and offers a listening ear whenever Pol may need it. Paly'n then leaves the Commander to meet Lieutenant Melani Wral, the Nightingale's new Ship's Counselor. The pair discuss the situation between the Helnai and the Praq, and Melani joins the away team before she even has time to unpack. ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Activity has been reported in the Holack sector, despite the Veil's blockage of subspace communication. The USS HERMES has been sent to investigate. Reports of Talonid invasion into the Cocoon have been determined to be false. The USS JOHN GLENN has reportedly found debris from the destruction of the USS COCHRANE. Search for survivors continues, but none have been found at this time. ***************************************************** Amgine Sector and Andromeda Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
