Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.0715 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Anna Karsten ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Commander Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** CSO Mercedes McCarter sends a thoroughly unrepentant Lt Pike to the brig when she arrives on the scene of the attack on Engineer Paul Alday. After Lt Alday is taken into the custody of the medical staff, Mercedes makes a bee-line down to Security to bawl out her ex-aCSO, but he won't listen, convinced that he should have been CSO instead of her. The rebellious and resentful security officer doesn't have a long, boring stay in the brig, though, for the force-field on his cell somehow incinerates him. Security has not yet ascertained whether the incident was suicide, homicide, or sheer accident. During preparations for the McCarter family dinner/party, Mercedes' brother, Yossarian, sagely declares that CO Judah Gibbons' problem is that he doesn't have a girlfriend. Mercedes is skeptical, believing that the "problem" is all Yossarian's, but he has to leave for practice with his band before they can get into one of their "discussions." With Yossarian gone, Mercedes' mind goes back to how oddly CNS Logan Woods was behaving the night before and she asks for Sickbay to send someone to check up on him. The medical personnel find Counselor Woods less than lucid; disoriented, distressed, and aggressive by turns. With many cautious encouragements and non-confrontational urgings, they take him to Sickbay for a thorough examination. The numbers at the McCarter shindig begin to swell. OPS Zach Bentley arrives and is teased by Mercedes' father about having stolen his daughter's heart. CO Judah Gibbons arrives in the middle of the mock confrontation and is reassured by Mercedes. HAMILTON's captain innocently shares a beer from one of the two packages he brought with Mercedes' father Patrick, while her younger sister Jolie examines his, um... physique. Just after Judah's arrival, FO Miranda Sands and CSciO Jur Lehron make their entrance. Then, the darlings of the gathering arrive. Yossarian and his fiance Chandler T'krn land right in the middle of a curious bunch of McCarters who begin quizzing Chandler on her background. When the queries dip into the uncomfortable realm of her own parents' attendance of the wedding, Chandler makes a non-committal reply then distracts her interrogators by mixing Spiritual Blood Brandies for each of them. Just after they gulp what she describes as "not a drink that you sip," the announcement of dinner's readiness further redirects the attentions of those around the couple. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** CMO Patton returns to sickbay with CEO Dariale's scan results. Talking to Captain Tergin and Dr. T'Salek, it turns out the second Trasien (who incapacitated Dariale) impersonated Patton a few minutes ago, and is now loose on the ship. Tergin proceeds to talk with Captain Diak, who tells him how a Trasien infiltrated his ship and caused a warp core breach. Their conversation is interrupted by the red alert klaxons, and they hear a warp core breach is in progress. Ensign Bordak, who has just appeared from the past, is beamed aboard and brought up to speed on the situation. He heads to engineering, to help avert disaster. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Scott Bassitt ******************************** No Report Submitted ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** Capt Alyza contacts the virus. As she gets to feeling worse, she locks herself in her office. She collapses. Her distress is picked up telepathically/empathically by her father on Vulcan, aboard a Kenary ship, by Cmdr Hogan somewhere in the Cocoon. First Officer Lt Fischer's infection with the Flu/Achilles Virus takes a small turn for the worse and sends him to Sickbay. Dr Poynton soon has his condition stabilized. Fortunately the deadly Achilles portion of the virus remains dormant. Reports of others on DS 101 infected with the Flu continue to come in. To help combat the virus and determine it origin, natural or sabotage, Dr Poynton request help from the USS NIGHTINGALE, the Cocoon's medical ship docked at DS 101. A team headed by Lt McCuen, NIGHTINGALE's CMO, is soon on the station. Ens Goose, working on the sabotage theory of the virus's appearance, collapses at his station...victim of the virus or perhaps something else. Tune in next week to find out. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy GM: Adam West ************************** No Report Submitted ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Lieutenant-Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith (SitRep by Scott Bradley) ********************************** Hello again, folks. Well, now that things have settled down a bit here, we're back on track. So, this week you have a big ol' double scoop of quality SitRep products. Yum! As an outbreak of a mysterious flu begins to show its teeth on DS101, Stuart reflects on his crewmates and newfound position onboard the ship. Surprisingly, Mrell shows up in the midst of this reflection, and the two speak as civilly as possible for the somewhat abrasive Cardassian. Meanwhile, Ma'kauran approaches Paly'n with a sensitive medical problem, and the doctor, realizing the trust that he has earned, begins work on her unhealing burns. In the Swamp, the party continues. Thayer and Kel meet up with Ensign Hiroki and Susan deWinter, and Stuart arrives and mingles with the new crew as Molen again stirs the pot by approaching Captain Canon himself with his concerns. Canon, a bit annoyed, tells Stuart to deal with the situation, and Stuart does so in a friendly manner, courageously overcoming the urge to strangle the little whiner. On DS101, the situation with the virus is worsening, and Captain Alyza herself appears to be infected. The call is made for the Nightingale's assistance. Stuart coordinates the investigation between the Nightingale's Science and Medical staffs. After a brief discussion and the revelation that this virus may cause different reactions in different species, McCuen takes his team over to the station to begin their work. ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Activity has been reported in the Holack sector, despite the Veil's blockage of subspace communication. The USS HERMES has been sent to investigate. Reports of Talonid invasion into the Cocoon have been determined to be false. The USS JOHN GLENN has reportedly found debris from the destruction of the USS COCHRANE. Search for survivors continues, but none have been found at this time. ***************************************************** Amgine Sector and Andromeda Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly contstructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
