Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.06 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ********************************************************* Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Erin M. O'Connor ********************************************************* Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Anna Karsten ********************************************************* *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** (currently vacant) *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED *************************** USS HAMILTON CO: Commander Judah Gibbons GM: Janet Gist *************************** HAMILTON's cleanup activities in the Querts' home system are rapidly nearing completion. The projection for survival of the planet's ecosystems is reassuring and two potential sites for Quert resettlement are being discussed. One is an island off the ocean shore about 3000 kilometers from their current dwellings. The island has less exposure to radioactive contamination, but a paucity of arable land. The nearby coastal location also being considered has an abundance of farm-friendly plots and greater risk of significant impact through concentration of contaminants put off by the nuclear plants. Potentially, the Querts could be split between the two locations; young, mothers, and elder females to live on the island and workers, bachelors, and aged males to live in the coastal settlement. To help the Querts get started, the Science department has recommended that they give them a colony startup kit (custom configured, of course) and raw materials from the Ralvidan hulks in the system. Engineering has completely finished converting the GUANIAN for its more mundane roll as a passenger carrier. The weapons from the ex-fighter carrier are awaiting transport to the SF vessel under the watchful eyes of HAMILTON's security staff just as the Ralvidans retrieved from the crippled war ships are about to begin transferring aboard. Back aboard the HAMILTON, the engineers scatter, some to shower, some to catch up on shuteye, some to other relaxing pursuits. CEO Chandler T'krn has a bit more excitement left in her day, though, for Yossarian McCarter, her fiance, has planned a celebration of his release, complete with chili shaped like a bouquet of flowers by multiple forcefields. CSO Mercedes McCarter has some excitement of her own when an escalated version of her same old nightmare gives her a premonition of impending catastrophe. The feeling bears some fruit almost right away, too, in the form of a message from someone claiming to be her mother's killer and threatening to visit her in order to reclaim a valuable he believes is in her possession. The subject is sailed over CNS Logaan Woods' head in the McCarters' joint session via twinspeak until they settled down to describe their relationship as siblings in appropriately colorful terms. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED **************************** Beaver Squadron Commander **************************** Branch Admiral Cathal Aguiar **************************** ****************** USS HORIZON CO: Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser ****************** USS HORIZON Situation Report SD. 13.0624 Over a cup of coffee, CMO Bill Patton muses on the recent events. He hypothesizes that perhaps there's a Trasien infiltrant aboard, responsible for the simultaneous overload of all hand weapons in the ship's armoury. On the bridge, CSciO Melody Cuen uses the recently discovered ion trail and lifepod to trace back the last position of the USS Hudson. When the Horizon arrives on the scene, all they find is debris. CNS Darlene Houston comes to the bridge, hoping for a chance to talk with Ayden, Phryn and Blaze about the Nameless, only to find everyone is busy. ****************** USS ATHENE ****************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ******************************** USS HERMES CO: Commander Michael J. Halifax GM: Scott Bassitt ******************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ************************** Condor Squadron Commander ************************** Branch Admiral Aleksi Kara ************************** ***************** DS101 CO: Captain Alyza GM: Don Ratliff ***************** This week on Star Trek: DS 101 The party for Captain Alyza gets under way in Morwenna's Vulcan Coffee Shop. Harkon finds himself locked in his quarters because it is suspected he has come down with the flu. Dr. Poynton comes to his rescue and unlocks the door. So, Harkon gets to attend the party after all, but under doctor's orders to abstain from alcohol. Crew members from the USS NIGHTINGALE also attend the party. Ensigns Poynton, Thayer and Azin (from the NIGHTINGALE) have their own little reunion. This has been the first chance for the trio to get together since their time at the Academy. Ensign Foley, after deciding not to attend the party, discovers the cause of he power drain. Ensign JV Tel'drak discovers 'sensor spots' at the sites of the thefts previously discovered by the CSO. Goose and Tel'drak discuss the new findings, which points toward sabotage. ************************** USS JOHN GLENN CO: Captain Richard Murphy GM: Adam West ************************** CSO Greene manages to liberate Sickbay from the TogDrel with the help of a small team of security personnel. With Sickbay secured, she begins to form plans for retaking the rest of the ship. Meanwhile on the Bridge, Murphy is beginning to convince the TogDrel leader to hunt down the remaining Talonid when intruder alarms sound multiple beam-ins. The lifesigns indicate Talonid. Far Master Echinkal prepares to hunt down the insectoids, forgetting her anger at the JOHN GLENN crew momentarily. FO Horne takes that opportunity to inform Murphy that someone is tapping into the computer core remotely, although they can't tell who it is. In the deep of the remaining hidden Talonid ship, Galen Simms manages to escape his storage pod and hide from the investigating Talonid at the urgings of a telepathic girl who has witnessed his exodus. He vows to save her, even though he is unarmed, unclothed and unaccompanied. ********************************** USS NIGHTINGALE CO: Lieutenant-Commander Pol Canon GM: Mistie Smith (SitRep by Scott Bradley) ********************************** Hey out there, Greetings, fellow travelers. Until Mistie is able to take over the GM duties once again, I'll be filling in for her. So sit back, grab a quality beverage product, and join me as we cruise the spaceways... Okay, from the top, or whatever passes for the top these days. The NIGHTINGALE is docked at DS101. However, being dissatisfied with Stuart's performance on the Prophet's Tears CGT, Canon sets up a retest for him. A search and rescue mission to find the kidnapped Commander himself, the new scenario includes live participants this time. Ma'kauran, Paly'n, Alex, Kari, and Azin join Stuart as his team for the sim. Stuart's group, after discovering that these Romulans are likely the ones who were present at Canon's trial, plows its way through a guard house. After Alex rigs a tricorder to operate despite the interference, Stuart sees Canon's image on the device, surrounded by Romulans. The group gets into another skirmish with the enemy as they attempt to reach the Commander, who appears to have been drugged. Ma'kauran narrowly avoids a serious injury, and the team regroups. Devising a plan of action, Stuart leads his team fearlessly into battle. Phasers blazing and bodies flying, they overcome the Romulans and seek an escape route. Unfortunately requests for beam-up go unanswered and the team must face the last of the Romulans. As the team advances, the sim is changed and Stuart must face his nightmares. Facing his fears, Stuart courageously confronts the beast and the test abruptly ends, leaving him shaken. After the CGT, Paly'n, seeing Stuart shaken by what he has faced, stays behind. Although he didn't see the final confrontation, Paly'n understands the dynamics of this type of test and confides in Stuart, sharing a secret of his own. After years of service as an assassin, thinking he was avenging the deaths of his parents, Paly'n learned that his parents were nothing more than memory implants. He had been created in a lab as the perfect assassin. Rather than reject these implanted memories, Paly'n chose to embrace the memories of a family he never had. After the CGT, many of the NIGHTINGALE's senior staff attend a party for DS 101's Captain Alyza. LtCmdr Kelen, on OMEGA, carries out his plan to rid the threat to his daughter...the Romulan Officer Vask. While the TIRIX is being repaired, Vask keeps a paranoid eye on Kelen's actions. Enjoying the mental cat-and-mouse game, Kelen gives his tails the runaround, driving Vask into a frenzy of paranoia. Kelen's actions finally drive Vask to have a heart attack brought on by the strain and fear...with some help from a Romulan CMO (and friend of Kelen's). ***************************************************************** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Cmdr Seth Forster) ***************************************************************** UPDATED SD 13.0615 Na'stiu and Juun relations continue to be tense without progress from assigned diplomatic teams. Activity has been reported in the Holack sector, despite the Veil's blockage of subspace communication. The USS HERMES has been sent to investigate. Reports of Talonid invasion into the Cocoon have been determined to be false. The USS JOHN GLENN has reportedly found debris from the destruction of the USS COCHRANE. Search for survivors continues, but none have been found at this time. ***************************************************** Amgine Sector and Andromeda Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) ***************************************************** OP 108 activity has begun increasing with the completion of the orbital docking platform. Construction has begun on several new ships at the newly constructed shipyards there. In addition, the Andromeda wormhole has shown no signs of unusual behavior in recent months, causing a return of commerce to the area. Peaceful cooperation with races in the Amgine Sector continue to increase in the aftermath of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference. Terrorist attacks continue to plague Starfleet ships in the Andromeda Galaxy. Purist terrorist cells, devoted to ridding Andromeda of all Federation presence, have jeopardized the entrance of Trasior into the Federation. Negotiators on Trasior report that the Trasien council is considering withdrawing their application for membership, while various attacks and disappearances are being investigated both by Trasien Security and by Starfleet. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Recent troop movements along Cardassia's border with Breen space has sparked some interest in the Union's possible plans. With relations still cold from the war, no official inquiries have been made, and no investigation is planned. Betazoid Council chairman Beyard Mali and Alpha Centauran Council chairwoman Vhesha P'Nehbuddar have announced plans to begin a massive cultural exchange between their two peoples, including cultural centers on each of the two race's home planets. The cultural centers will be primarily devoted to exploration of similarities between the two cultures and will include expositions on the theoretical genetic links between Alpha Centaurans and Betazoids. Three suspected members of the Orion Syndicate were indicted today at a Federation Council hearing. Although the Orion Syndicate has been careful in the past to remain outside of Federation jurisdiction, the recent acceptance of Vermanda III into the UFP has expanded StarFleet presence into a previously unmoderated area, heavily used by Syndicate trafficking. StarFleet expects no retaliation, but also no more arrests, as the Syndicate has most likely changed their operations routes. **********************************************************
