The young security officer's sober evaluation of the situation succeeds in persuading the captain, in fact, he becomes determined to lead the second team himself! With McCarters, CMO Jill Landon-Leeds, CNS Julianna Ward, CEO Chandler T'krn, an engineering team, and a security detail, they once again make planetfall and manage to obtain permission to examine both the injured Empiricals and the Querts' own starships. Jill is escourted to the injured via an elevator ride and a quick radiation decontamination treatment. Back on the surface, the security contingent discusses low-tech combat with the Querts and the remainder of the team tries to decide who will inspect their hosts' vessels and who will watch the shuttle. Meanwhile, Captain Tralan of the Empirical flagship SPADA has hailed HAMILTON in a bit of a tizzy at their failure to acknowledge his order to remove themselves from the general vicinity. FO Judah Gibbons is not terribly impressed by Tralan's conduct and, when SPADA fires first three thermonuclear missiles at the planet then two at HAMILTON itself, he loses patience with the self-centered fellow, has the missiles intercepted and destroyed with photon torpedoes, and neutralizes SPADA's missile launch capacity with a direct phaser hit. Cowed by the power and speed of HAMILTON's response, Tralan has a probe launched which Gibbons allows to leave through a previously undetected trans-warp conduit nearby. The probe was likely carrying a request for reinforcements for, after the launch, Tralan becomes smugly unhelpful, willing to play a waiting game with the SF crew. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ************************* Beaver Squadron Commander ************************* ~ Vacant ~ ************************* *************** USS HORIZON Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser *************** CMO Bill Patton and CSciO Melody Cuen discuss the situation concerning Mandella, who is still impersonating Melody. They don't really know what to do. FO Leyson Ayden captures Kiaja's shuttle and she is brought to the brig. FCO/2O Jarek Malaar and his wife, CNS Trinity Layne-Malaar, can't persuade her to give the body she's is using back to Trinity. When Kiaja throws herself against the forcefield, thus rendering herself unconscious, Trinity slips back to where she belongs. Working together, Kiaja and Trinity manage to survive, rescuing the baby in the process. Later, Jarek and Trinity have a lengthy talk about their future. They decide to leave the Horizon to raise their child on Earth. Mandella tries to use her seductive powers on the FO. She is close to succeeding, but a call from the Captain interrupts her advances. Ayden reports to the CO in sickbay to find the real Melody Cuen. CEO Dariale is lying unconscious in her bed due to the sedatives Mandella had given her. A call from engineering - because she's later for her shift - wakes her. She too reports to sickbay, where CSO James Mauler has arrived as well. Cmdr. Ayden goes for a talk with special OPS officer Arkanis, to call in his team's help. Meanwhile, Melody loses consciousness again. Some sort of neural program is activated, showing her the image of her mother. The program warns her again about Mandella, but gives no concrete information. When she regains consciousness, Bill takes a look at the program. He discovers that Melody has been genetically programmed to be like she is today. He also finds that her endorphin glands have been overstimulated, meaning she is very attractive to any man. The remaining senior staff makes up a plan of action. After coming up with something to block Mandella's endorphins, Patton calls an old Marine friend in the hopes of finding out who was responsible for creating Melody. In the meantime, Mandella continues her advances to Cmdr. Ayden, this time apparently with more success. The two of them go to his quarters, but instead of returning her loving intentions, Ayden captures her inside a forcefield. Before security can properly detain her, she beams away to an unknown location, where she is quickly spotted by the special OPS team. H'llstam and Dariale shapeshift into the appearance of Melody, and together with the real Melody go to Mandella's location to capture her. **************** USS ATHENE Commander Krwn GM Kathy Ruether **************** Illusions from the Talosians seem to be plaguing most of the individuals of the Athene away team. FCO, Tyler Jorden awakes to find herself in the room where CSO, Ian Hollander is being kept. Thinking that she has been kissed by Ian, Tyler slaps the CSO, who has no idea why she has done so since all he has done is greeted her. Ian asks her if she could eavesdrop on the Talosians, but before Tyler can answer a Melkot that is not Krwn appears in the window. In another room Jur and Miranda are being held. Miranda sees the illusion of Will while she thinks she is in sickbay, but knowing that it is truly an illusion since Will is back at Omega, the illusion goes away and her real surroundings appear. After the illusion disappears another appears of a man named Riley. He disappears as she struggles with making closure with him. She is able to get to Jur when this illusion is gone, they find a way to keep the Talosians and their illusions at bay for a length of time. This is done by linking their minds together though Miranda is not a telepath. Meanwhile in a different reality that others are experiencing, Jouri, illusion-Ian, and Shawn examine the probe that was orbiting the planet. It is not of Federation design and quite possibly could be Melkotian in design. The probe's temporal signature doesn't seem to match the time that it is supposed to be sent. The time has been pinpointed that it will be sent in three days and sent from outside Talosian space towards Starbase 11. **************************** USS HERMES Commander Michael J. Halifax GM Scott Bradley **************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ************************* Condor Squadron Commander ************************* ~ Vacant ~ ************************* ************** DS 101 Captain Alyza GM Don Ratliff ************** DS 101 receives a "May Day" signal from near the border with Dergrad Space. The HIKARU, along with O'brady, Goose, Foley, one of the Rachets, and Rommel is dispatched to investigate. LtCmdr Roberts gives the Rachets a tour of the Station, however, he tires before it is completed. As he rests, Roberts gets a flash of memory of himself in a bar in Prescott on Earth. The medical department performed a checkup on Roberts and found that the neural program was continuing to cause his health to deteriorate and will eventually kill him. The Rachet Speeder informs the doctor and Roberts that he can deactivate the neural program. Roberts refuses, because the neural program is also causing some long lost memories to resurface. Roberts chooses, against medical advice, to retain the neural program until those memories are recovered. Lt Kersh drops by Roberts' quarters shortly thereafter. Julliard and Marta continue their forced "handcuff" therapy, which appears to be encouraging more teamwork and tolerance between the two members of the CNS staff. Ensign Goose, the Bolian CSO, meets Ensign Mookat, a fellow Bolian, from OPS. They start things off with a 'bang'... to their heads. Unfortunately Goose must leave on the HIKARU, before the conversation could be continued any further. Morwenna, the Deyhui Storyteller, continued to tell his stories. Command Grade Training for First Officer Lt Fischer continues. ************ USS COCHRANE ************ NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRYDOCKED **************** USS NIGHTINGALE LtCmdr Pol Canon GM Mistie Smith **************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ********************************************************************* Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Adm. Elisabeth Davies) ********************************************************************* UPDATED SD 13.0313 The Federation/Na'Chem Ceasefire is still in effect. The USS SELEYA's peace talks have reached an impasse, although efforts continue. The USS ZEUS and USS XERXES continue patrols and have managed to disable one hostile cell's activities. The SELEYA is currently attempting contact with another influential Na'Stiu cell. Diplomatic relations with the Juun are still considered to be in 'a tense period.' Talks have resulted in an effort to disclose many possible sentient rights transgressions by past Juun governments, although very little has been turned up to date. Actions to relegitimize SFIntel continue. Administration needs which have stalled much of the progress are being handled, allowing for a resurgence in these efforts. *************************************** Amgine Sector Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) *************************************** OP108 has completed installation of its orbital docking platform and commercial and Fleet activity continues to grow in the area. The USS HORIZON has been assigned to continue the COCHRANE's aborted mission and investigate disappearances near the wormhole. As a direct result of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference, the Aldemiian race has been accepted as a probationary protectorate of the Federation, establishing an embassy on Earth. Two other races from that conference are still being considered for Federation membership. On a related note, the Federation might possibly become an intergalactic organization soon, as the Trasien race from the Andromeda galaxy has applied for Federation membership. Negotiations for evaluation will proceed soon. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** The Klingon/Federation Officer Exchange Program has shown some success and plans are in the works to expand the program. The Klingon Empire and the Federation have established a non-aggression pact that many consider the prelude to a new treaty between the two. Still no official comments from the Cardassian Union. Recent investigations into Tholian border activity have confirmed that there is no military objective. Fourteen new colonies have been established within two sector's distance from the neutral zone, and military presence on these colonies is considered very light. An official assurance of peaceful intentions has been received from the Tholians. Romulan Ambassador Tultia and Vulcan Ambassador Skarov continue talks of Unification. Talks are expected to last several more weeks, despite projections of failure. ********************************************************
