Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.0403 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ***************************************************** Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Fuchsia Tino ***************************************************** Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Elisabeth Davies ***************************************************** *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** ~ Vacant ~ *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ********************* USS HAMILTON Captain Antonio Leeds GM: Janet Gist ********************* After a quick debate about whether or not the Prime Directive applies in this case, CO Antonio Leeds oks FO Judah Gibbons' taking an Away Team down to investigate both the distress call itself and the disintigrated antimatter and nuclear devices that likely prompted the plea for help. Along the way to the source of the signal, it becomes clear that the nuclear installations were providing power for a warp drive test some distance away. Before they enter the control center, however, 100 primative-looking beings make their way over the same ridge the SF officers made their way down just moments before. The spokesperson, Harag, says they are the Querts. Examination of the Querts band reveals that their fur is trapping the radiation, exposing them to higher concentrations of the harmful energy. CNS Julianna Ward persuades them to shave off their fur to improve their chances of survival, but they refuse to leave their home. As time runs out on the surface, things become a bit more interesting in orbit as well when CSciO Sudak discovers an ion trail left by a less advanced craft that is using the planet to shield themselves from the HAMILTON's notice. When they hail the hiding ship, the angry alien captain demands that they leave immediately and gives them 5 mimuntes to extract the Away Team. Unimpressed, Leeds orders a course change that should bring them into sensor range and tells Lt Pike to standby for a tactical analysis of the other ship as soon as it comes in range. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ************************* Beaver Squadron Commander ************************* ~ Vacant ~ ************************* *************** USS HORIZON Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser *************** Captain Tergin and Or talk to An'Faldo, the Meparchkan they'd found on RS Arkon. He tells them he created the dark matter anomaly when an accident had caused his wife and child to be lost in a subspace void. CSO James Mauler carefully prepares his date with Melody (that is, with the person everyone believes is Melody). They are having a wonderful time in 1930s Paris, until he is called away to accompany the FO in his effort to get Kiaja back. CMO Bill Patton frees the real CSciO Melody Cuen. She says the person that is currently dating James, is actually one Mandella, who claims to be Melody's sister. Bill carries Melody to sickbay without anyone noticing them. Before waking up again, she has a vision of her foster mother who warns her of Mandella. Tergin's discussion with Trinity and Jarek is interrupted by a call from the FXO, Adm. Davies. She awards Tergin the Picard Medal of Honor for his service as CO. **************** USS ATHENE Commander Krwn GM Kathy Ruether **************** The CEO Shawn Day, and aCSO, Jouri Hollander, enter a small fight on their current situation before the illusion-Ian unlocks the door for them and tells them of the story of punching Pike to save them all. The Talosians decide to turn the villagers against the team. This becomes obvious when they start to come after the away team. The villagers' weapons are darts that they shoot at the fleeing team, who try to stay angry to defend themselves. Only one person is seriously harmed and that is the FO, Miranda Sands. The team contacts the ship and they are beamed back aboard with the away mission not looking like much of a success. While the team is fleeing, CO, Krwn, has a conversation with the Talosians. He is told the team has requested asylum and will not be turned over to the Federation until they have made their decision on whether or not to grant the asylum. The humans there are all the descendents of Captain Pike and his wife, Vina. Krwn makes the offer that he will transfer any of the humans there onto his ship. Somewhere in the underground caverns of Talos IV is the real Ian. After hours of being experimented on, the Talosians finally decided to give the CSO a break. There is no way out of the room they have put him in and so Ian decides that he might as well get some rest. A problem arises on how to remove the dart in Miranda's leg without doing more harm to it since it has extended in her leg in a radius of an inch. It seems that any magnetic device will set the dart off. The result of this detonation by one not in her leg shot out fire, leaving spots of the carpet and wall singed. If that's what it'd do to the carpet and wall, think of what it'd do to Miranda if it isn't taken out properly. **************************** USS HERMES Commander Michael J. Halifax GM Scott Bradley **************************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ************************* Condor Squadron Commander ************************* ~ Vacant ~ ************************* ************** DS 101 Captain Alyza GM Don Ratliff ************** The results of the Probe sent to the Xu'sorfian galaxy finally generated a preliminary report. All "weapons planets" were found to be low tech worlds, without any evidence of warp capable civilizations on them. The planet identified by the probe as being the Xu'sorfian's was also found to be at a space-age, pre-warp tech level. These findings were counter to what was actually known of Roberts' actions. With this new information, Captain Alyza (knowing that the new information and situation in the Xu'sorfian galaxy was probably due to the ORB) allowed Roberts to remain on DS 101, although stripped of any command privileges and instructed to act as a consultant only. As his first task Roberts is ordered to familiarize the Rachets with the Station, as well as "the rules all Federations citizens must abide by." Lt Aniketos receives his transfer orders. Joined by Mary (who wrangled a transfer to the same destination), he says his goodbyes and the two depart. Command Grade Training of Lt Fischer continued. The "Handcuff Experiment" involving Doctor Marta A'zura and Ens Caesar Juliard (both of the CNS Department) continued under Counselor Kersh's supervision. ************ USS COCHRANE ************ NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRYDOCKED **************** USS NIGHTINGALE LtCmdr Pol Canon GM Mistie Smith **************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ********************************************************************* Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Adm. Elisabeth Davies) ********************************************************************* UPDATED SD 13.0213 The Federation/Na'Chem Ceasefire is still in effect. The USS SELEYA's peace talks have reached an impasse, although efforts continue. The USS ZEUS and USS XERXES continue patrols and have managed to disable one hostile cell's activities. The SELEYA is currently attempting contact with another influential Na'Stiu cell. Diplomatic relations with the Juun are still considered to be in 'a tense period.' Talks have resulted in an effort to disclose many possible sentient rights transgressions by past Juun governments, although very little has been turned up to date. Actions to relegitimize SFIntel continue. Administration needs which have stalled much of the progress are being handled, allowing for a resurgence in these efforts. *************************************** Amgine Sector Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) *************************************** OP108 has completed installation of its orbital docking platform and commercial and Fleet activity continues to grow in the area. The USS HORIZON has been assigned to continue the COCHRANE's aborted mission and investigate disappearances near the wormhole. As a direct result of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade Conference, the Aldemiian race has been accepted as a probationary protectorate of the Federation, establishing an embassy on Earth. Two other races from that conference are still being considered for Federation membership. On a related note, the Federation might possibly become an intergalactic organization soon, as the Trasien race from the Andromeda galaxy has applied for Federation membership. Negotiations for evaluation will proceed soon. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** The Klingon/Federation Officer Exchange Program has shown some success and plans are in the works to expand the program. The Klingon Empire and the Federation have established a non-aggression pact that many consider the prelude to a new treaty between the two. Still no official comments from the Cardassian Union. Recent investigations into Tholian border activity have confirmed that there is no military objective. Fourteen new colonies have been established within two sector's distance from the neutral zone, and military presence on these colonies is considered very light. An official assurance of peaceful intentions has been received from the Tholians. Romulan Ambassador Tultia and Vulcan Ambassador Skarov continue talks of Unification. Talks are expected to last several more weeks, despite projections of failure. ********************************************************
