Fleet Sitrep for SD 13.0220 Cocoon Fleet News Service www.holoworld-startrek.org ***************************************************** Fleet Commanding Officer ~ Fleet Admiral Fuchsia Tino ***************************************************** Fleet Executive Officer ~ Admiral Elisabeth Davies ***************************************************** *************************** Antelope Squadron Commander *************************** ~ Vacant ~ *************************** *********** USS ARTEMIS *********** NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ********************* USS HAMILTON Captain Antonio Leeds GM: Janet Gist ********************* After venting to CSO Mercedes McCarter about her "father," CEO Chandler T'krn manages to keep Kevala-nightmares out of her mind long enough to get 2 hours rest before the pre-dinner meeting. As they discuss the coming mission and ship/personnel preparedness, FCO Zac Bentley shares his concern that the Malandrous Nebula in the Balorr Sector, which they will be passing close by, might be a Nu'Tsui hiding place, CNS Jo Carters hypothesizes a connection between nearby extant civilizations and the extinct one they are being sent to investigate, and CSO Mercedes McCarter reveals a Security work-in-progress, namely a weapon prototype that Specialist Teven likely will complete before they arrive in the Seltika Sector. The much awaited CGT results are doled out the next day. CO Antonio Leeds commends Carters for having no trouble sending those under her into danger (as the simulation required) and informs her that he has recommended her for Starship Command. He cautions his wife and CMO, Jill Landon-Leeds, about her hesitation on the same point, then lets her know he has recommended her for a post as an executive officer. When CSciO Sudak reports for his eval, Leeds expresses his admiration of the Vulcan officer's performance and informs him that he has been recommended for immediate placement as an OPS/FO as his next step along the command career path. ********* USS SAGAN ********* NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRY-DOCKED ************************* Beaver Squadron Commander ************************* ~ Vacant ~ ************************* *************** USS HORIZON Captain Tergin GM: Ruud Visser *************** (The Horizon is currently investigating a dark matter anomaly in the Katarian sector.) The Horizon is still deep inside the nebula where it has finally made visual contact with Research Station Arkon. The dark matter seems to be holding the station in its grip. A survey/evac team is formed to board the station, which doesn't answer any hails. CNS Jay McMadeth knows he has to go along to save the trans-dimensional Maggy. The Dakota is nearby as well, but isn't able to contact the Horizon. Cmdr. Leyson Ayden beams over to the station with a team as well in order to meet with the Horizon's crew. **************** USS ATHENE Commander Krwn GM Kathy Ruether **************** >From the suggestion of a "Trojan pie" inspired by the Trojan horse by the CSO, Ian Hollander come many other suggestions from the crew of the ATHENE. Inside of this pie spy equipment would be placed to monitor the Talosians' telepathic abilites and find out where the humans are or precieve themselves to be if it were to fall into their hands. He also states that the Talosians should still be peaceful towards the Federation since they were when contact was last made and maybe there is a good reason for the distress call then. FO, Miranda Sands suggests that the humans and Melkot won't be in a small group and the Talosians might be trading with this group to get what they want from the group and the group gets what they need from the Talosians. The crew could hold some kind of a "bake sale" and plant the devices in the money that they use. A way to get in and undetected is still a problem. For a way to show up on the plant, CNS, Jur Lehron, says that they should act like they need assistance so that they will learn more that way then if they were feared. CEO suggests a crash landing of a unmarked shuttle will get the Talosians or the humans to come help and contact the crew. ******************* USS HERMES Captain India Baker GM Scott Bradley ******************* NO REPORT SUBMITTED ************************* Condor Squadron Commander ************************* ~ Vacant ~ ************************* ************** DS 101 Captain Alyza GM Don Ratliff ************** On Cichoka III: Dr. Villeray was kidnapped from a meeting with the planet's medical authorities. Her whereabouts are still unknown. The ships that attacked the HIKARU and subsequently apparently self-destructed, turned out to have been destroyed by an official Gortu vessel. After conversation with the Gortu President Akamai, it was decided that the HIKARU would attempt to replace the methane in the atmosphere as a gesture of the Federation good intentions. It was hoped that this action would deflect some of the more violent reactions to Federation presence on Cichoka III. After study by the Science Department a plan to replace ninety-five percent of the methane with nitrogen was devised. On DS-101: Jel'ar and Rouge beam aboard the Ferengi trade vessel. A deal for all Jel'ar wants, along with a method to smuggle the illegal arms aboard DS-101, is concluded. Movement of the shipment begins. ************ USS COCHRANE ************ NO REPORT SUBMITTED/CURRENTLY DRYDOCKED **************** USS NIGHTINGALE LtCmdr Pol Canon GM Mistie Smith **************** NO REPORT SUBMITTED ********************************************************************* Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report (by Adm. Elisabeth Davies) ********************************************************************* UPDATED SD 13.0213 The Federation/Na'Chem Ceasefire is still in effect. Although, the Na'Stiu faction continues with efforts to upset the Ceasefire. The USS SELEYA has met with leaders of one cell of the Na'Stiu and continue to negotiate for a peaceful arrangement, despite Na'Stiu attacks continuing from other cells. The USS ZEUS came under fire during a recent patrol, but the attackers were repelled with no casualties on the ZEUS. Na'Stiu vessels have avoided conflict with the USS XERXES. Diplomatic relations with the Juun are still considered to be in 'a tense period' and talks have been initiated to resolve the situation. Captain Mara Nemec has been somewhat successful in establishing a working dialogue with leaders of anti-Federation factions. Progress is slow but noticeable. Official reports on the temporal anomalies in the Cocoon have been released to upper administration, but remain highly classified. No further information will be presented on this matter. Actions to relegitimize SFIntel are proceeding. Recent rogue SFIntel activity aboard the USS HAMILTON has been contained, and investigations will continue on all levels of SFIntel. *************************************** Amgine Sector Report (by Lt. Alac Nond) *************************************** OP108 has completed installation of its orbital docking platform and commercial and Fleet activity continues to grow in the area. Due to extenuating circumstances, the USS COCHRANE has been recalled from its mission to investigate missing ships in the area of the wormhole. Fleet Administration is currently evaluating the situation and a new mission to investigate will begin soon. Results of the Noo'Ach Peace and Trade conference are showing measurable effects as the Federation is currently considering three new civilization's applications to the UFP. Continuous trade routes have been established with the Malvedians and the Zillimese. Members of the Sori'arian race have set up commercial outlets on DS101 and are still negotiating for a more active trade with the Federation. ***************************************** Beyond the Portal (by LtCmdr. Eli Meyman) ***************************************** Relations with the Klingon Empire continue to improve, with the reactivation of the officer exchange program. Primarily medical, science and engineering officers have been exchanged, including one officer on the USS HORIZON. Still no official comments from the Cardassian Union. The new Tecumseh-class battle cruiser, the USS ATHENE, has entered the primary stage of its mission and all communication has ceased, as per orders, since leaving StarBase 11. The mission is expected to last three weeks. Activity on the Tholian border has increased, and StarFleet is sending more ships to investigate. No conflict is expected, but the Tholians have refused to answer diplomatic overtures and maintain contact silence. Most recent reports indicate that the activity is primarily colonial and commercial. Romulan Ambassador Tultia has arrived on Bajor to meet with Vulcan leaders. The subject is unification, although Tultia is widely known to be adamantly against the unification movement and no progress is expected, according to the Diplomatic Corps. Vulcan Ambassador Skarov has stated that he will do everything possible to work with Ambassador Tultia and her staff to progress toward a satisfactory result. ********************************************************
