COCOON FLEET SITUATION REPORT SD: 11.0928 ******* Antelope Squadron: Commodore Tara Cadoriet --- OUTPOST 108 Outpost 108's scout ship the USS GRYPHON is still on a joint mission of exploration in the Andromeda galaxy with the USS COCHRANE. Following the possession of the CEO and CMO the acting chief medical officer and the chief security officer endeavor to strengthen the security measures in the sickbay. As the Gryphon follows the Cochrane to a mysterious planet the recovering CEO has a dream in which he enters into contact with aliens. *** USS ARTEMIS Following the previous events aboard the USS Artemis aCO Paul Simmons is contacted by Fleet Admiral Wynton Spires and is both informed of his promotion to regular commander of the Artemis and the pending arrival of the new first officer. One Lt. Foster Ryan, formally of the USS MONTANA and the 6th Fleet. An away team is sent down to the surface of the planet in which the Artemis and a saphusian vessel are orbiting. The away team is assigned the task of examining an Ikata hulk which was discovred on the planets surface. Unfortunately the away team is captured by camouflaged saphusians who take the team captive. Upon discovering the presence of the away team and their capture a pompous Regent Kamat contacts Commander Simons aboard the Artemis and informs him that under Saphusian law, the saphusians having first landed on the planet lay claim to it and any other saphusians there are trespassing. As the commander and the regent discuss the matter, Kamat indicates there is some legal parity with the federations own code of justice. Regent Kamat informs Commander Simmons that a plea bargain could be accepted for the return of the away team. The regent asks for the detailed plans and theory behind transporter technology. Commander Simons bluffs the regent and informs him he will have to seek higher authority. Meanwhile aFO Ryan makes his rounds about the ship. Down on the surface of the planet an automated defense system aboard the Ikata vessel manages to kill and injure several members of the saphusian guard allowing one of the away team members to attempt contact with the Artemis. After his rounds and while on the bridge aFO Ryan discovers the S.O.S. While this is occurring a captured Ikata vessel approaches the planet, aboard which is an elite saphusian force. And finally Regent Kamat talking to one of his subordinates indicates that they have captured the original transmission from the Admiral to Simmons. Kamat as soon as he is able to plans to bypass Commander Simmons and the crew of the Artemis in hopes of obtaining better results from the admiral of the fleet. *** USS SAGAN Currently Drydocked. ****** Beaver Squadron: Commodore J.M.Power --- USS HORIZON The HORIZON's StarDrive section confronts the space pirate Cassius' ship. There is a brief battle, ending with the mercenary vessel crash landed on the surface of Vagra 3. As the StarDrive and Saucer reconnect, a away team is sent to a research station on Vagra 3, to investigate a series of distress signals. *** USS ATHENE After Simms' victory over Crenshaw and the return of his adopted son the Athene returns to Omega in a pensive mood. Upon arrival Demi is summoned before the admiral where he finds that he is to be coutmartialed for disobeying orders, the theft of the Athene and the Murder of Joseph Crenshaw. He also learns that his XO Kuvak is to be replaced and that he is to be "observed" by Mae McFlannery, the wild daughter of an ambassador. On the Athene, the new XO Boris Pisarev shows up on the bridge taking the crew by surprise. Av'ern is understandably sceptical and has the officer assigned quarters until his assignment can be clarified by Simms. Meanwhile, on the station Simms and McFlannery decide to have "some fun" but end up being chased down by a pack of angry Tellurites. The chase leads Demi back to the Athene where it is decided that the crew should make no attempt to "fix" their testimonies for the upcoming trial. *** USS KATANA The majority of the KATANA crew begins settling back into the preoccupation afforded by the arrival of orders for the vessel's next mission. The few still astir from the Inquiry's revelations, Chaela Kqrin and Treyena Bra'an especially, are left simmering with resentment and feelings of betrayal over the completeness of the illegally obtained surveillance reports of Bra'an's time at the Academy. From the thoroughness of the coverage, it is obvious that everyone, from roomates to teachers on down to the Bloc gardener, were involved in the 'Orion Watch'. *** SB OMEGA No report submitted. ****** Condor Squadron: Commodore Wynton Spires --- USS COCHRANE No report submitted. *** DS 101 Alyza when contacted by the Commander of the Second Degrad ship, tries in vain to explain what had happened, but the Degrad does not believe her and remanates on what the MANTA RAY was doing on the edge of Degrad space in the vicinity of the Vurtedion Ships and the galaxy class. Again Alyza explains that they came under attack from the others and he could find out by scanning the ship for metagenic compounds, fired by the Vurtedion attacking vessels. The CO turned to her CNS for his opinion on the commander. He advised that he would be in an unstable situation and that the ship take up a defensive position, INCASE. Down in engineering, Fewsome was struggling to make ends meet in respect of getting the deflector make up and running fully. She ordered teams to set up the relevant systems that she needs to rig up a temporary shielding array. She informed Alyza that it would be 14 minutes till the deflector power would be back, and requested someone to come and operate the deflector control. *** USS CURIE Lt. Mike sends a message to Starfleet headquarters asking for any information that would help him find his past. Afterwords, as he is relaxing alone in his quarters, Clair stops by with a bottle of alien wine to toast a successful first mission together. The tow say thier goodbyes to each other for Clair tells mike that she is heading back to Earth once they reach DS101. Capt. A'Dark gives orders to get underway to DS101 after a few parting words with the Dergrad. He is then called to sickbay to help with S'Keth. In sickbay, S'keth is in a healing trance and gets an telepathic message from someone on the ship. Knowing that it isn't coming from anyone he knows helps him to narrow down his search for the sender. He also realizes that the message is also a plea for help and understands there is some urgancy to it. Forcing himself to come out of his trance early to take care of this plea for help, he awakes and tries to get to a terminal. Dr. Landon and the Capt. help him to one, and he starts his search. After a few minutes, S'keth determines that there are two Galias on the ship, one with strong signal, and the other one is very weak. This discovery comes just as the invis. Galia makes her way into the sickbay and over to S'keth and the rest. Dr. Landon calls for the Betazed Nurse Ford hoping her empathic skills could help in this matter. ******* Viper Squadron: Commodore Davis Dal Starian --- USS DURHAM No report submitted. *** USS IBUTHO No report submitted. *** USS KRIEGER No report submitted. *** USS ZAHAL No report submitted. ****** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report: by Cmdr. Ilu A ceasefire exists between the Federation and the Na'Chem. Starfleet is still investigating allegations of Genocide against the Na'Chem. A small number of Na'Chem factions are refusing to acknowledge the ceasefire. Calling themselves the Na'stiu, they continue raids against the Juun. Diplomatic relations with the Juun are officially considered to be undergoing 'a tense period' and talks have been initiated to resolve the situation. There has been no official statement about what items are under discussion but it is believed that any progress to date has been negligible. After the recent uncovering of mass infiltration into the Starfleet cocoon command, the vast majority of suspects have either fled, committed suicide or been brought into custody. The clean-up operation has been able to remain relatively low-key as to avoid unsettling the political waters of the cocoon. Amgine Sector Report: by Lt. Serin Erl Deep Space 101 has seen much activity as its engineering capability's are undergoing a major upgrading. Also facility's for accommodating its new role as a secondary command centre in the event of catastrophe befalling OMEGA SB are in the process of being added. OP108 is also being upgraded in the form of an orbital docking platform being sent there, enabling the base to cater for and repair/service even the largest of the federations ships. The base has seen its status raised as a direct result of the stable wormhole to the Andromeda galaxy being discovered in the area. The platform will take some time to arrive as towing such a large structure is a slow business. These moves have, as expected, raised some tension with the races in the area, though the Hetgarot seem satisfied that there is no threat involved and remain on the same friendly footing as previous. Beyond the Portal: by Lt. Michael Walters The Klingon Empire maintains in Ceasefire with the Federation following the exposure of a conspiracy between the Klingon Houses in the former Occupied zone and the Cardassian Union. Peace Negotiations are proceeding slowly on Khitomer, several of the Federation's top ambassadors have been sent and recent reports say that the Negotiations are nearing an end. Given the length of time that this has been claimed, it is obvious that the party's involved have still several major sticking points to address, though for as long as dialog continues, the hope of peace still remains attainable. Fleet yards across the Federation are putting in extra effort to bring the fleets numbers back up to what they were before the war. What Starfleet lacks now is the personnel to staff those ships. Federation fleets are regrouping and rebuilding following the recent war. The eighth fleet, sixth and third fleets are the only fleets so far to regain their numbers to what they were before the war.
