COCOON FLEET SITUATION REPORT SD: 11.0907 ******* Antelope Squadron: Commodore Tara Cadoriet --- OUTPOST 108 There's a slight moment of tension among the crew as the Gryphon passes through the wormhole leading towards the Andromeda Galaxy. The CEO is convinced that he has been contacted by Wormhole Aliens. The CsciO tackles him on this theologically dubious piece of reasoning. The Gryphon arrives on the other side of the wormhole and begins to reconnoitre the area while waiting for the arrival of the COCHRANE. They find no trace of the Federation ship or M-class planets in the vicinity but do detect an Ion storm heading for the two ships. *** USS ARTEMIS Following the events in which Captain Marshall was abducted by a second alien vessel and it's subsequent escape. the acting CO, Lt. Cmdr.. Paul Simons, leaves the bridge to inform Cadet Janet Marshall of her brothers abduction. While there Simons assure the cadet he will be okay Later on that day the aCO returns to the bridge and learns that the saphusians have provided some information about the abducting alien. The information proves to be of little value as it is no more informative than the ARTEMIS's own sensor readings. Again the saphusians become suspect to doubt. Not soon afterwards a ship is detected and is closing at warp 1.5 and turns out to be the saphusians, who hail the USS ARTEMIS. Aboard the saphusian vessel, "Glorious Wind", is Regent Kamat and his entourage. the aCO is greeted by the regal form of Kamat and is invited over to the ARTEMIS for a private discussion on the matter of the captain's abduction by the second alien race. As soon as communications are closed a large explosion is detected on the planet to which an away team had been sent to recover more information on the saphus. Concern about the away team arises, but sensors readings indicate that the away team was well away from the explosion which turns out to have been from a charging weapon on the surface of the planet. The aCO leaves the bridge to greet the regent and his entourage. Making his way, Lt. Cmdr. Simons decides that the saphusians do in fact use "borrowed" technology, but rather than develop an understanding of the principles involved or the theory on which it is designed they simply replicate the technology and adapt it to their uses.... *** USS SAGAN Currently Drydocked. ****** Beaver Squadron: Commodore J.M.Power --- USS HORIZON Ambassador Or'Nonya, called back to the Meparchkan Embassy on Earth, leaves the ship, and consequently, leaves Captain Tergin. Meanwhile, the Tal virus continues to effect the crew in numerous ways. Crew continue to file into sickbay, with an almost unending list of complaints. Ens. Layne, the new ship's doctor, makes progress on the structure of the virus by taking a sample from Bordak, who is carrying an unmutated strain. However, before the doctor can make use of her discovery, she finds she is not immune to the virus herself. Her emotional states become amplified under the influence of the virus. Heading to the Ship's Edge where she meets with Lt. Canon, Lt. Malaar, and Dr. T'Salek. Malaar finds himself all too willing to assist the new doctor in any way possible. In a moment of relative calm, Pol is awarded the Shafer Star of Service. And Lt. Munro collapses into a catatonic state, in the middle of the bridge. Lt. Hamelin's previous, ultra-logical state is diagnosed as his human/vulcan hybrid mind's reaction to the virus. In an effort to save Hamelin from suffering a complete mind shutdown, Canon enters a "dreamscape", in which he can interact and help the Lieutenant. With the assistance of both Tergin, Suven, and Layne, Hamelin is saved. Upon awakening, Hamelin sets out to work on a solution to the problem at hand. He is joined by the captain, and the two of them pool their efforts. At the same time, the doctor's condition deteriorates from mild dizzy spells to a complete breakdown of her emotional state. T'Salek diagnoses her as suffering from the virus. Ens. Arkanis, noting the doctors state, and seeming unwillingness to deal with it, initiates a kind of treatment of his own, restricting her movements by planting a forcefeild around her ankles. Lt. Malaar, trying to make the best of the situation, decides to ask Layne out for dinner. The doctor accepts, though only on the condition that Malaar retrieve a personal possession for her. A stone which allows her to relax. Lt. Suven's state deteriorates, and she sluggishly makes her way to her quarters, barely able to stand straight. Before she collapses completely, entering a dream-like state, she calls for medical aid. Layne, now in possession of her family heirloom rock, is relaxed enough to be released from her invisible bonds. In a calmer state of mind, she is able to realize that the progress of the virus can be slowed, or even reversed by tinkering around with the Pheromone levels of the ship. *** USS ATHENE While doing a routine planetary survey in the Dungata System, the Athene discovers the trail of one Joseph Crenshaw, the villain responsible for destroying the original Athene. Disobeying orders to the contrary, Capt. Simms orders the Athene to follow after Crenshaw and finds him onboard what appears to be a Mercenary Ship. *** USS KATANA Though short a CEO, FCO, and CSO, the KATANA receives new orders directing them to act as intermediaries between the homeworld and mining colony of a race acquainted with the Hetgarot. The mission will have a distinctly First Contact flavor and Captain Thelek frets about especially about the lack of a CSO. On the tail of that thought, Lt Asil Kurii presents herself as the newly assigned CSO, to serve with Thelek as CO as she had previously served with him. Later, after having dropped off her belongings at her familiar old quarters, Kurii startles FO Takoth by reporting for duty on the bridge before word of her presence got out. When he had recovered slightly from his surprise and pleasure at seeing his old shipmate returned, Takoth dumped several waiting tasks on the newly assigned CSO with a lighthearted, "Oh, and did I mention, welcome back?" In a lull in the effort to return the KATANA's hull to normal, Ensign Krwn arrived to discuss their tactics in ridding the hull of its abnormal green. Krwn rejects the automated barion sweep Takoth proposes as ineffective and weakening to the ship's skin. Instead he suggests 58 teams of 2 individuals each to manually sweep the hull with isotone eliminators while under a .8 milliwatt stasis field. Takoth had been unaware, as had Krwn previously, of the presence of anti-mesons in the hull which would make the more arduous proceedure necessary. *** SB OMEGA No report submitted. ****** Condor Squadron: Commodore Wynton Spires --- USS COCHRANE No report submitted. *** DS 101 Nevil, Brax and Crystal awaited the clearance from the docking crew, as the stripped/decommissioned Constitution class ship was delivered by a Tellerite shipping consortium. When the three boarded the ship it was in a complete mess. They headed to engineering, Brax suggested a Ferengi warp core would be perfect, but Crystal reminded the Ferengi that the ship was the property of Roberts. Crystal and Nevil started to clean up the mess. Meanwhile, Brax was in his office and an old acquaintance turned up, Nancy. Back on the USS MANTA RAY, they arrived at the rendezvous point, initially no other craft in range. Out of the blue turned up a Galaxy Class ship and is identified as the missing vessel. Roberts with concern, advised the CO that two Degrad ship appear on the edge of Vurtedion space, along with a Vurtedion freighter. "Captain, I believe this whole rendezvous is a set-up." Hogan expands on his thought. Alyza hailed the Galaxy, but no reply is received. The Vulcan CO warned the approaching Federation ship, but again no reply. They had 20 mins until the Degrad Vessels arrived. Alyza authorised weapons free. The Galaxy fired off a volley of torps and Hogan responded with his own volley. The MANTA managed to evade the weapons, but the Galaxy sustained damage to the saucer/stardrive umbiblical and shields were down to 87%. Alyza ordered helm to put some distance between the MANTA and the Galaxy. The Galaxy fired off some more projectiles, but Hogan didn't recognise the objects. The MANTA managed to dodge the weapons again , but the crew realised that they were not intended to hit the SF vessel but they released metagenic compound. Hogan informed the captain that the projectiles were actually, Sentry drones. Whilst evasion was on the MANTA crew's minds the Galaxy had caught up with them and managed to release some phaser and torp shots, which hit the MANTA. She'd sustained multiple hull breaches and her shields were down to 64%. The sentries were now fully surrounding the ship and it was completely covered by a metagenic compound cloud, which would kill the crew if the shields failed.... *** USS CURIE As the away team is confined to the holding cells on the Dergrad ship, the Dergrad Lital, comes down and tells them that the Curie's computer is infected with multi-fragmented virus. He also arranges for the away team to have an escape opportunity by dimissing the guards for a shot period of time. Meanwhile, the ambassador and his groups wait in thier cells for somthing to happen. Somehow, Lt. Mike is able to contact the Curie and arrange for them to be beamed out, but the transporter is unable to distinguish which are the away team and which aren't, so they take them all. When they arrive, Lital in tow, the Captain gives permission for Lital to stay under Mike's care. The invisible Galia walks up to her double on the tran. pad and realizes that none of them can see her either. ******* Viper Squadron: Commodore Davis Dal Starian --- USS DURHAM No report submitted. *** USS IBUTHO No report submitted. *** USS KRIEGER No report submitted. *** USS ZAHAL No report submitted. ****** Cocoon Fleet Situation Intelligence Report: by Cmdr. Ilu A ceasefire exists between the Federation and the Na'Chem. The Juun have made no official comment. Several Officials sacked from the Juun government following the exposure of genocide committed against the Na'Chem by the Juun have attempted to lure the Federation into a war with the Na'Chem. Starfleet is investigating these allegations of Genocide against the Na'Chem heavily which may threaten the Juun's position in the Federation. Starfleet Intelligence Officers are on the scene and investigating the reports of Romulan influence in the matter. A small number of Na'Chem factions are refusing to acknowledge the ceasefire. Calling themselves the Na'stiu, they continue raids against the Juun. An area of space being dubbed the ‘Bermuda Triangle' has left Several Starfleet vessels missing. A ship has been sent to investigate. Amgine Sector Report: by Lt. Serin Erl Deep Space 101 has returned to it's previous location. The exact circumstances of it's disappearance have been divulged to Cocoon Fleet Headquarters. Outpost 108's construction proceeds on schedule, it's support vessel however has left on a joint mission with the Klingon vessel "Kahless' Blood". The USS CURIE has returned from the far end of the Cocoon. A new HAWKING class ship has arrived to replace the aging FEYNMAN. Beyond the Portal: by Lt. Michael Walters The Klingon Empire has established a Ceasefire with the Federation following the exposure of a conspiracy between the Klingon Houses in the former Occupied zone and the Cardassian Union. Peace Negotiations are proceeding slowly on Khitomer, several of the Federation's top ambassadors have been sent and recent reports say that the Negotiations are nearing an end. Fleet yards across the Federation are putting in extra effort to bring the fleets numbers back up to what they were before the war. What Starfleet lacks now is the personnel to staff those ships. Federation fleets are regrouping and rebuilding following the recent war. The eighth fleet, sixth and third fleets are the only fleets so far to regain their numbers to what they were before the war. The wormhole at DS 12 has finally sufficiently stabilized for traffic to resume to the Gamma Quadrant. Respectfully Submitted, Tom Doyle, Fleet GM for Holoworld
