DV-6PR Dervish


Overview:
    While the standard DV-6M Dervish served the role of mobile fire support well in the 1st Praxis ACR's fire sections, it was noted that the twin Federated 2-Shot SRM systems were of little or no use in this specialized role within a cavalry troop. In fact, most of the fire section pilots opted to go into battle with the SRM magazines empty to reduce the risk of ammo explosions. It was ultimately decided that this wasted tonnage would be better utilized to increase the long range hitting power of the mech by replacing the LRM-10 and SRM-2 launchers with twin Federated 15-shot Missile Systems.

Capabilities:
    The DV-6PR was developed for the specialized role as a mobile fire support and suppression platform within the Pale Rider's fire sections. These two-mech sections utilize the Dervish's speed and jump jets to avoid enemy fire while exploiting optimal positions for offensive and defensive fire support of their own.
    The twin Federated 15-shot LRM Missile Systems provide the offensive direct fire and inderect fire punch for the DV-6PR, while the twin ChrisComp 39 Medium Lasers are usually enough to discourage mechs fast enough to close with the Dervish until help can arrive.
    The main drawback to the variant is it's limited LRM ammunition. In protracted engagements, the pilot must be aware of his or her ammo supply.
