Three Drunken Maidens

Also know as Three Bonnie Lassies.

There were three drunken maidens, come from the Isle of Wight
They'd drink from Monday morning nonstop til Saturday night
When Saturday night came, me boys, they would not then go out...
But these three drunken maidens, they pushed the jug about
These three drunken maidens, they pushed the jug about

Up comes bouncing Sally, her cheeks as red as the bloom
"Move up me jolly sisters and give young Sally room.
For I will be your equal before the evening's out!"
And these four drunken maidens, they pushed the jug about
These four drunken maidens, they pushed the jug about

There's peacock and there's pheasant
There's partridge and hare
There's all sorts of dainties, no scarcity was there
There's forty quarts of beer, me boys, they'd fairly drunk them out!
And these four drunken maidens, they pushed the jug about
These four drunken maidens, they pushed the jug about.

Then up comes the landlord, he's asking for his pay
It's a forty pound bill, me boys, that these girls got to pay
That's ten pounds apiece, me boys, but still they'd not go out
And these four drunken maidens, they pushed the jug about
These four drunken maidens, they pushed the jug about

Oh where are your feathered hats, your mantles rich and fine?
"They've all been swallowed up, me boys, in tankards of fine wine!"
And where are your maidenheads, you maidens brisk and gay?
"We left them in the ale-house, we drank 'em clean away
We left them in the ale-house, we drank 'em clean away."

The Digital Tradition Database has a tune and alternate lyrics for this. The tune is slightly variant from the one I know, and you'll have to repeat the last few bars of music to cover the extra refrain line I sing at the end of each verse.
