The X-Files vs. Inspector Gadget!

It is these guys against him.

Watching half a show of Inspector Gadget did a lot to remind me, Aniad, why I love The X-Files so much. I will for those not yet fully converted to The X-Files list the similarities and differences between the shows:

Disclaimer: This nibbet of homepage is wholly Aniad's doing and Xfileschick takes absolutely no responsibility for it.

The X-Files: The name alone is spiffen and can spawn infinite other spiffen words: X-Phile, X-Files X-po, and, in a very roundabout sort of way, zemx.
Inspector Gadget: The name is fully functional but not especially interesting, and the best gimmick anyone can come up with is to have Inspector Gadget on his head to be the "I" in Inspector.

The X-Files: The theme song alone is hypnotizing: eerie, haunting music. *Doo doo dee doo dee doo! Doo doo dee doo dee doo! Dee doo! Dee doo! Bumm!*
Inspector Gadget: The theme song gets stuck in your head very, very easily. *Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun, Inspector Gadget! Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun, Woo-hoo!*

The X-Files: The main characters are two partners, Mulder and Scully, who balance each other perfectly and create just a touch of sexual tension.
Inspector Gadget: The main characters are an inspector with lots of gadgets built into his body, a girl with a computer that will do the most unreasonable things, and a dog who can sort of talk and is constantly watching the inspector to keep him from getting in to trouble.

The X-Files: The cases are usually solved by hard investigative work and dramatic flashes of Mulder's intuition.
Inspector Gadget: The cases are solved by Inspector Gadget's luck, Inspector Gadget's gadgets, the dog's lack of luck, and the girl's computer.

The X-Files: Occasionally, there are dramatic, impressive explosions and other amazing visual effects.
Inspector Gadget: There is self-destructing note in every episode, and though the resulting explosion is occasionally funny, it is completely predictable and not very impressive.

The X-Files: As the credits roll, you stare at the screen until the last name passes your eyes, soaking in the music and pondering the deep concepts presented in the episode.
Inspector Gadget: As the credits roll, you shake yourself out of the stupor you have fallen into and turn off the television, glad that the episode is over.
