For hours on end she would sit out upon the balcony and watch the waves crash upon the beach outside the estate. Her life was tedious, One full of rules and responsibilites in which neither of her parents participated in. Isabel, her mother, was always busy with her social events and high society parties. While her father, Edward would be gone from the house for days at a time, Always thinking of some way to increas the families wealth. Because of this Artemis spent most of her time alone. Reading and dreaming while she hid from her other siblings. She was the youngest of the family, distant from all the others by several years.
As the years went by, Artemis became more and more distant from her family. It was always known that she was to marry into the Brigham family, one that was rich and powerful in East Oxfordshire. Artemis was raised with nannies, private schools, and fine etiquette teachers. Her beauty surpassed most, and she became hated by many of the girls in her school, along with her spiteful older sister. The more marriage was pressed upon her, the more she decided to get out on her own. She wished to see the world. At the age of 17, Artemis began sneaking out of the family estate, drifting into the city of London.
She watched most everything from afar, but she began to speak and mingle with the wealthy citizens in London. Artemis eventually started a co-owner business with a man dealing in transporting illegal goods across the country. Her business became very sucessful yet she hid everything from her family. When she was home, Artemis acted like the sweet innocent child she had always been treated as. Her lifestyle, in turn, became very destructive. She went to parties every night, became dependent on various stimulants and almost lost her company because of her spending binges. When she turned 24, Artemis was to marry Sir James Brigham. Sir James, who had done very well for himself over the years, may have been a worthy husband save for the fact that Artemis really knew nothing about him. They had never courted, so in essence, he was a complete stranger.
The wedding was intended for June 15, 1997, but the eve of June 14th, Artemis went out with her usual group of friends. After partying all night she was drunk, tired and weak. One of her so called friends pushed her into a dark street away from the tavern. He slammed her little body to the wall, and proceeded to grope and kiss her. Crying, Artemis begged to be released, but he wouldn't let her go. Pushing her skirt up, he pressed his body against her so firmly that it was keeping her suspended almost a foot off of the ground, then suddenly Artemis fell. The man who was trying to violate her was nothing but a heap on the floor of the alley. She looked up and saw a man standing over the body. Her eyes met with his and her heart sank. She had never seen eyes so blue, nor a face so handsome. Who was he? He then smiled mischieviously and grabbed her tiny hand, pulling her close to him. He kissed her firmly, setting her lips to burn and her body to tremble. He then spoke in a calm quiet voice.......

"Walk with me, my dear...my dear sweet Artemis, for I know everything of you. I know your hopes, your dreams, your soul, and you belong with me. I have watched and grown to love you from a distance, but now I am here, to give you the life you have always desired, always dreamed about. Starting back from the days on the beach, watching your mind slip into fantasies and fairytales as the waves crashed around you. And now I am here Artemis, I have come to take you there, my love."

Artemis felt her knees weaken at his words, and she knew right then that he spoke the truth. She knew in her heart that she was His, and that her life was about to change forever. That night Artemis was loved, caressed and embraced by Him. Her life now belonged to the Ventrue, and to this man. She looked up into His eyes as He cradled her, and whispered weakly.....

"I love you Cameron Smith..."
