Who What Why and When
So, you want to know about Tim? Well, there's not much to tell actually. TIM OGRE is an acronym. It stands for The Intermountain Matrix Of Gaming and Role-Playing Enthusiasts. I came up with the name during a brainstorming session with my friend Mike Webster while we were trying to organize a gaming club at the University of Utah. It took a bit of convincing, but Mike eventually saw things my way, mostly due to his very low brow sense of humor.
Well, the Ogre was out of the bag at that point. We had already started a newsletter, the Matrix, and we had hopes of turning it, and our club, into an international forum for gamers to get together. It never materialized and after 8 or 9 issues, The Matrix folded.
We've kept the thought going though, and some day we just may try again. But for now, that's where Tim came from.
And if you have a good Ogre picture that you'd like to share, please send it to me! I have not been able to find a suitable picture for Tim and I can't draw well enough to do him justice.
