Sailor Moon R is composed
oftwo halves The first half being the Doom Tree Saga involving the two
aliens Known as Ali and Ann/ Ann and Alan and the Scouts recovering there
lost memories from the first seson. This particular half
of Sailor Moon R never appeared in the original manga and is almost strictly
an Anime creation. The Alien brother and sister combo Ali (Alan) and Ann
(Ann), are hunting for energy to support the dying tree known as the Doom
Tree,though they are constantly thwarted by Sailor Moon and a mysterious
hero known as the Moonlight Knight. Tuxedo mask does not appear in this
part of R at all. The alien's decend upon an unspsecting earth, sailor moon and her crew are totally clueless because well they don't remember anything that happend in season one^.^**. when the first of the new enemy's attack Luna declaires that she and aetimis can handle it alone, she doesn't want to destroy Usagi's/Serena's and the other senshi's newfound happiness "they deserve to be normal girls" she say's at one point. So they go in for the attack, and unfortunatly get they're cute little kitty butt's handed to them medieval style. Lucky for the the monster decide's to attack every SM villian's favorite chewtoy Naru/Molly. Usagi/Serena just happens to be coming over to drop off a volleyball and see's some monster snacking on her friends energy. (Naru/Molly's Mom pass's out right next to usagi btw) So She does the only thing she can, she chucks the volleyball and does that ever classic SM "I will Right wrongs and triumph over evil!" pose...But she doesn't know why. The Monster of course lay's the smackdown on a powerless Usagi/Serena but Luna comes in and save's the day by restoring Usagi's memories of her life as Sailor Moon. Of course she kick's the monster's ass and a tender moment between Luna and SM take's place, Sailor Moon is sorry she's not a normal girl anymore and Luna is sorry she had to reawaken her. I'd like to point
out that was the very first episode of Sailor Moon i'd ever seen and i
was thoroughly hooked on Sailor Moon and anime thereafter. As par the
sailor moon usuall, romance hijink's ensue everyone falls in love with
everyone else (hence some of theRomance in Sailor moon R.) Even though
it's a corporate creation this alf of R is excedingly fun harkening back
to the original series of energy sucking baddies taking on our lovable
Senshi. Another fun thing about this series is everyone get's anew attack!
Which they NEVER EVER EVER use again. Like Jupiter thunder Dragon (a very
nice piece of animation there) Mars Firebird ec. they never pop in the
series again but hey it's fun to watch in the first half of R. My Suggestion,
watch the series in english then rewatch it in Japanese both have something
to offer like the slight changes in Ali's (Alan's) flute song.
The Second Half of R Now this was on highly romantic idealized season of Sailor Moon, and
we actually get to see glimpses of the Senshi's future lives, meet some
extremely evil technical relatives of the Moon Kingdom, say hello to a
Pink haired kid named Chibiusa (Reni) and get a glimpse of the ever mysterious
Sailor Pluto. The evil Dark Moon Family comes to earth from the future
in hopes of taking over Crystal Tokyo which they can't claim because of
the Mysterious fighters known as the Sailor Senshi (Sailor Scouts). Once
there they find that the problems of the future are also the problems
of the past. The Senshi (Scouts) aren't gonna let no corrupting evil baddies
take over the world! It all starts when Mamoru/Darien and Usagi/Serena are at the park, you
can almost see the shoujo dripping off these two as they after the pains
of forgetting each other (mamoru didn't regain his memories till the very
end of that arc) draw close, and kiss in one of the worlds most sappy
moments, luckily Naoko had a sense of humor and while they kiss a ball
resembling a certain black cat's head falls from the sky and bop's them
on the head. They're kind of oblivious till a small child also drops from
the sky knocking them apart, usagi regains her composure and looks up
to see the newcomer has her lips on mamoru who just looks toughly shocked.
Usagi yell's at the kid wanting to know who she was and what did she think
she was doing with her boyfriend(and her hairstyle as well). The little
kid glares at her and whips out a pistol putting it Usagi's head and demanding
the Imperium silver crystal. Usagi stutters and freaks as does Mamoru.
Then the little girl pulls the trigger and usagi falls backwards...Mamoru
rush's to her side to see a plastic sticky bullet stuck to her head. He
turns around to chastise the little girl...but she's had mysteriously
disappeared. Later when usagi's recounting her tale of woe and outrage
to the senshi as they head to her house, lo and behold the pink haired
little witch is sitting on her couch eating cake with her mother like
they're old buddies! This Season is where Sailor Moon debates really begin Almost everyone
can agree that the original Sailor Moon series is bitchen but all the
other series after that meet with debate and arguments, some people Like
R better because it stays with traditional SM lighthearted romance with
a little evil for spice. the Other Seasons Tended to stray from this criteria
but heck it was fun nonetheless! yet again I am not giving away the ending
you can catch this season on TV or you could go out and hunt and gather
the Subtitled Episodes (Subs are good Dubs are bad mmmkay?). Now though
thank's to the marvels digital age you can now buy the Sailor Moon DVD's
which include the episodes subtitles and dubbed and est of all uncut no
longer must one quest for ancient VKILL fansub's nay say i thou can buy
SM DVD's at cool places like amazon.com. Why not go and check this out
and see if you can get yourself a decent copy of this series. |
Yet
again another SM Series the Sports 4 generals (Koan/Catsy, Pettsu/Prisma,
Karaberasu/Avery. Beruchie/Birdy) but also 1 high commander (Rubies, oh
you evil stud you), A person over him (Esmeraude/Emerald), a younger Prince
over her (Sapphiro/Sapphire) and a Prince over him (Prince Diamand/Diamond
drool Drool! god he's sexy!!) Talk about Your confusing Situations!
Usagi starts's screaming and yelling at the girl again but this time her
mother chastises's her "Is that anyway to greet your cousin Usagi???"
Of course usagi is surprised and so are the Inners, but after the little
girl show's pictures of herself and usagi together they all agree that
usagi just has a horrible memory. Usagi swear's she doesn't know this
kid and that she's never seen her before. But the photo's are right there
in front of them all, and Usagi's family seem's to know and acknowledge
that the girl who we learn is named Chibiusa/Renie, is indeed her cousin.
Just what's going on here? Usagi's memory can't be that bad can it? And
just who is this girl and where did she come from? Gotta love those Sailor
Moon obvious mystery's don't ya ^.^.
