Shadow of the Dragonclaws

A fine lit night, with moon riding high.
All silver glow and star patterned sky.
Road we travel and road we walk,
and eyes watch close like the hunting hawk.
Ho lads hush! Listen ye well.
For we venture along where dragons dwell...

Softly move and softly say,
else beasties find us where we lay.
Travel fast and far and deep,
else ye find a softer sleep.
Ho lads hush! Wander not,
else claws be tempted and ye are caught.

Watchful days and restless nights,
stolen thoughts of home’s delights.
Warrior ties knit close this band,
as lads and lasses cross bleak land.
Ho mates hush! Guard your back,
for you pass along the dragons’ track.

Let not the silence drag the pace,
slowing thought and spirit’s race.
Nor the rhythm of your feet,
lest ye fall to things that creep.
Ho mates hush! Though ye tire,
Call your courage and heart’s own fire.

Cast the burning brand on high,
light the path and dare the sky.
Kindle bravery and fan the flame,
of defiant races under dragons’ bane.
Ho lass no! Raise your voice.
Ring your song, your freedom's choice.

On we go and on we stand.
Fast together, hand in hand.
Sing out loud and long and sweet,
and turn again before we meet.
Ho lass laugh! Spite the cold.
We burn too bright for stone claws to hold.

A fine lit night, with moon riding high.
All silver glow and star patterned sky.
Road we travel and road we walk,
and eyes watch close like the hunting hawk.
Ho mates sing! Bright and well,
For we venture along where dragons dwell...
