Soulless
Fog blanketed the entire field, hiding everything in a dark gray haze. Bird cries echoed and died throughout the low valley, creating a nightmarish overtone of loneliness and despair. Perfect fighting conditions for the likes of Angelseed. He turned to his daughter Valkyire standing next to him.
"Now pay attention Val." He began. "Psychological warfare is just as important as physical. If you can make the enemy think that he is defeated before the battle starts, you've already won. What you need to do is search their feelings, find something you can use against them. Exploit it to its full advantage." Angelseed stopped a moment, taking in a deep breath. He turned his attention once more to his daughter. "Watch me Val. Not just with your eyes, but with your soul. Feel what I feel, see what I see, think what I think."
The two began walking, slowly forward, searching for their enemy. "How will we find him in this mess?" Val asked. "We can barely see five feet in front of us."
"I can feel him. His heart is full of compassion, light. It's a nauseating feeling, very easy to track." Angelseed continued forward until he came to a large boulder. "We must be in the middle of the valley. Val, get ready."
Angelseed ignited the golden blade of his light saber, standing in a fighting pose waiting for his enemy to show. "Come on, I don't have all day lightsider."
The Jedi Knight leaped down from the boulder, purple light saber ignited and ready to fight. "I am Tilian. Ninth son of Diliin. Eighth generation…"
"Shut up will you? I don't want to hear your entire forsaken family tree. I came here to execute you and I want to get back home before dinner." Angelseed tightened his hold on his saber. "Bring it."
The gold saber hummed and crackled through the air as Angelseed sprinted full force towards Tilian. The two sabers collided, hissing at each other. Angelseed's golden eyes burned into Tilian causing him to stop thinking for just a second, giving AS an opportunity to break the stalemate.
Angelseed back stepped, crouched, then spun to the right, bringing his saber around to attack Tilian's torso. The Jedi Knight jumped backwards, just missing AS' energy blade, then brought his own weapon down hard on Angelseed's shoulder. The blade cut through the collarbone, stopping just inches of AS' heart by the golden saber. Boiling blood sizzled down Angelseed's back and chest. Grunts of pain and swearing escaped his lips as he forced the purple blade out of his burning flesh.
The sudden push sent Tilian stumbling back, tripping over his own feet and landing hard on his face. AS looked at his shoulder then at Tilian. "I'm gonna make you suffer." Dozens of tendrils escaped from Angelseed's back, drooling and hissing like rabid vipers. "No more fair play."
Tilian stood up shaking his head at the sight. "What the?" Before he could finish his thought, the tendrils strike. The first couple where easily disarmed by his lightsaber, sliced off and twitching on the ground. But the more tendrils Tilian severed, the more sprung forth from Angelseed's back, biting and wrapping around his flesh.
Blood rushed from Tilian's arms, soaking his garments in crimson gore and chunks of meat. Pain squealed from his throat like a pig to be butchered. "Damn you! Fight with honor." Tilian screamed through clenched teeth.
"Incase you haven't noticed, I'm not the honorable type." Angelseed recoil his tendrils into his back, making his way to weary Tilian. "But as your final request, might as well get some exercise."
Tilian charged Angelseed, his lightsaber high over his head, sprinting with all his might towards his attacker. AS bowed his head, side stepping to the left, flipping his saber around so the blade pointed to the bottom of his hand. Tilian missed his target, slamming his blade into the ground. Before Tilian could react he found a gold blade jutting through his belly, cooking the flesh.
In a deep whisper Angelseed muttered to himself. "Gift to Apocalypse, dark God of salvation and anarchy. Take this pathetic soul so I may be healed." With that, Angelseed pulled his saber free, rotating on his left heel to bring the saber around, cutting neatly through the base of Tilian's neck. A slight spurt of blood, and the body fell, the decapitated head rolling along the flat ground.
Angelseed looked at his shoulder, which had already begun to heal due to his bionet armor and genetic hybrid. When he got back to the lair he'd have to spend some time in the bacta tank, unless he wanted to wait a few days for such a nasty wound to remedy.
"Did you get that Val?" Angelseed asked to his daughter standing just a few feet from where the battle occurred.
"Yeah. Do you always get the slag kicked out of you like that?"
"Depends on the opponent, but usually. I allow them to think that they have the upper edge, but then I just use their overconfidence against them and…" He motioned to the headless corpse lying next to his feet.
"If that blade had gone any deeper you would be in his place." Valkyire walked closer to her father, smelling the fried meat of his wounds.
"I know. But it didn't so there's no point in worrying about it." Angelseed knelt next to the body of his fallen enemy, snapping off the Jedi's left hand.
"Uk. Why do you do that Angel?" Valkyire grew slightly nauseated.
"It's a hobby. Some people collect rocks, others collect animals. I collect the body parts of fallen warriors and add them to my throne. There's nothing wrong with that."
"Nothing wrong with that? You're the only one in the entire EH that does that! It's weird."
Angelseed looked at his daughter slightly agitated. "Let's just get back home before this thing decomposes anymore." AS pressed the commlink on his shoulder. "Fallen Saint, pick up."
The small ship hovered above AS and Valkyrie's heads extending it's gain-way. With a slight push, Angelseed shoved Val into the gut of the Saint then took off for home.
