I've always been somewhat interested in Ufo's and Aliens and stuff, but there's never been anything on tv to peak my interest in it until a series called Dark Skies came along. Just simply, a superbly written series, as I will describe below.
Dark Skies originally aired on NBC in 1997 but was cancelled before the end of it's first season.
Now it's back..!!
The Visitor was a pleasant fill in for the void left by the Dark Skies cancellation, but it too was cancelled after only one season by Fox.
...and now they are both back on tv as reruns for the first time, back to back on The Sci-Fi Channel
...as a fan of both shows, I'm glad they're both back on tv and I hope enough ratings are generated to warrant Dark Skies revival..!!
Here's my take on both shows...
...As every episode of THE VISITOR ended,
I found
myself thinking
about Dark
Skies more
and more. While I have yet to see any of the
same actors in both shows, I have noticed many other
things are
very similar, and as many conspiracy theorists
applauded Dark
Skies for revealing many untruths, well maybe they
should be
looking at the VISITOR too...
THE VISITOR is about an Air Force pilot who, in 1947, dissappears over the Bermuda Triangle only to reappear, 50 years later, piloting a UFO that he apparently stole from his abductors of the past 50 years, of course, the 1997 Air Force doesn't know this and shoots him down, however, he escapes capture and now the manhunt is on.
Enter Colonel Vise
who works for a secret
NSA branch
to
track down aliens and keep things quiet. FRANK BACH
had the same
job in Dark Skies, what stands out as a similarity between both shows is Majestic 12.
ADAM McArthur (we all knew him as
the zany DJ on
Northern Exposure) plays the escaped alien abductee who returns to earth to save mankind .Back alone to save the
world from Alien
threats, John Loengard had the same mission in Dark
Skies. The
general public has absolutely no idea what's really
happening,
true in both shows and how about tie-ins to actual
events?? Dark
Skies was full of them and it seems that THE VISITOR
is following
suit on this Halloween's (1997) episode with a spin on
H.G.Wells 'WAR OF
THE WORLDS' and a couple of episodes ago they did a
take on
CONTACT. But here's the worst co~incidence of all,
both shows were
doomed to a 8:00 o'clock timeslot on a weekend night,
a time when
their target audience is everywhere except in front
of a TV screen.
Is this too, a conspiracy¿¿¿
