..This issue brings you all sorts of info about Comets, Asteroids and Mars...and of course a whole lot more but since this is where the world's attention is focused...we won't let you down...we've got links galore (including MPEG movies for my webtv friends) and some absolutely amazing images from Mars...and a whole lot more....the latest controversy on the FACE..and who's who in the face circles...and links to their sites...plus the latest for Conspiracy Corner and as always..the Final Cut... I think we'll start off with a sound blast from the past....here's the 1961 recording of the OSCAR1 spacecraft (in morse code saying "HI" on Dec14th/61 as it orbited the earth.. .a momentous occasion in American space history....but very dull in comparison with what's to come in the very near future with space exploration.....!!

There are some other great places on the web to find space info outside of the mainstream including SPACEVIEWS and SPACECAST i enjoy visiting here every once in a while and suggest my readers do the same..
..it seems that movies are on everybody's minds and as
far as space goes...we have our share of science fiction
and documentaries on the tube these days...of course all of
these venues have their sites online too...
..so let's go with HBO ..we have the epic original series directed by Tom Hanks called From the Earth to the Moon...I just wish I had HBO to see this...it looks like a great series..I will be writing about it in future issues when I actually have something to write about it ..also at the movies now is SpeciesII..a film about the consenquences of mans first trip to Mars and what he brings back...you can read the storyline here

...while we're on the topic of Asteroids (and Comets)...I
think many of you have heard about the Asteroid 1997XF11 which will pass within a very near
distance to Earth in 2028...(this should be a spectacular
view by the way!!!)...initial reports had it possibly
colliding with us...we now know this will not happen...but
what about other asteroids.?? ...and to see a couple of movies of a very real
comet (Hyakutake)

...Well my friends...the Face on Mars was succesfully
re-imaged by Mars
Global Surveyor (MGS) on the 5th of April and at first
glance,
would appear to be nothing more than a natural rock
formation...HOWEVER...the jury's still out on Cydonia as a
whole and some would even say that NASA is conspiring to
keep the real data from the public...I disagree..I think
NASA did a
wonderful job hitting the face right on target and they put
the info online pretty quickly ..as NASA had publicly
committed to doing previously...(thanx to Stanley McDaniel
and Mark Carlotto; we might not even be talking about the
Face right now if it weren't for these two and their
efforts to get Cydonia re-imaged before the mapping phase

..NASA's JPL currently has
a mission to try to track down rogue Aster
oids using the
Hubble Space Telescope...you can read all about it HERE
...and what kind of damage could they do to us..??...here's

With minimal delay, the hi-resolution images of the Face
were put up on the web for the scientific community to
enhance and clarify and then come to their own
conclusions..you can see the first ones here
..I'm not so sure anymore that the FACE was a
face (badly eroded or not) but the fact is NASA promised us
HI-RES images and they produced (although not nearly as
HI-RES as previously released MGS images)...remember that
MGS will be
imaging the area two more times (on April 14th and 23rd)
and we can all expect some more incredible images from one
of the most controversial sites in space.
I can't talk
about Cydonia Mensae as well as the pros so instead I'll
give

can decide for yourself what the deal is with the Mars face
and Cydonia

...Is there any other conspiracy bigger than the Mars Face
Issue right now..??...probably not..the fact is that until
man actually sets foot on Mars and does some in depth long
term study of the red planets past, the conspiracies will
be alive... I, for one, believe
that Mars was once inhabited by some ancient race...it's
also possible that we are ancestors of these people....I
know this is a wild theory and pure conjecture at this
point but if you go to this site
and follow it through...it seems possible at the
least...Why would NASA conspire to cover this up???...I
don't know...the fact is there may be no coverup at
all..but after you read this you may agree that it just
doesn't add up...and the latest with the Mars Face
re-imaging seems to have added fuel to the controversy....
