These are some poems I wrote after the events that took place on April 20, 1999. These poems were inspired by what happened..I know it's taken me a long time to put them up here...sorry...My heart and prayers were and still are with all the people who suffered from this senseless display of violence...
Poem 1...
Why--even if you were different from any other would you wanna kill another human being--your brother... while on this side of the country today Kids went around discussing their frivolous "teenage holiday" Some young guys Who were different a bit, exacted their revenge by putting bullets through their classmates eyes... Why would you end someone's life so quick? WHYWHYWHYWHY? Would you want to make them die? Who knows, maybe they had pain in their lives too Though they never shared it with you It's a lesson to all about many things acceptance, and tolerance, love and talking instead fo fighting-time to think- before pushing others to the brink These kids were upset we know, bad they felt but who said no one else was--but delt with their problems and were content I hope those guys are happy with the biggest massacre on this continent To kill others--what high aspirations and dumb! You end their pain as well and pass more on to everyone! SELFISH! INSOLENT! SICK! BASTARDS! everyone has hard times! just b/c we don't announce them on placards Don't Ever Assume You're the Only One! and that it's fair to end the lives of others with a gun! Pain goes away... but life once gone doesn't stay A community forever changed because some kids got sick of being teased and made sure that Nothing would Ever be the Same...
God have mercy on their souls...
About the Trenchcoat Mafia...
To live your life plotting to kill low aspirations such as these make me ill so does senseless violence and talk of it All htese wannabe badass mother fuckers can shove it! It makes me so fuckin angry--the disrespect for life They've destroyed families forever and left them to deal with pain and strife... God gave us the gift of life--and free will buth how dare they take it away cuz they couldn't chill Everyone deals with mean kids and people they hate thing is--the rest of us learn to cope, relax, negotiate. So many of us are in pain twice that of you! But we've never thought picking up a fucking gun would have much to do with us feeling better or avenged or through we lived with our crap and unlike you didn't take it seriouslyWell since you were to fucking macho to ever cry Your only resort was to snap and cause so many innocent people to die...

He takes my cross
and carries me home again
God helps me bare my pain...
To the Trenchcoat Mafia:
so you think you're bad and People should be afraid think you've got power wrong-God is ruler of all and can punish you with a force worse than falling off the world trade tower He judges Not You!! And it's His decision as to When Human life is through!!!
My own personal thoughts on the way the press covered the tragedy at Columbine High School:
I've come to realize that no matter what, certain journalists are always going to sensationalize the most negative aspects of any event;nevertheless, I found it ridiculous that the press talked about the two shooters so much I don't know if they get it, but they've let the bad guys win Those kids wanted to be remembered and now everyone in America knows who they are..I don't think their names and pictures should have been released..and the name of the trenchcoat mafia should have never been brought into it...These people should have been left as Johnny and Tommy Nobody who hung out with a bunch of gun toting losers...Now, because everyone knows who they are and what they were about, we've got more psychos and copycats all over the country worshipping them, and terrorizing their own communities with claims that they too are part of the infamous trenchcoat mafia. Personally, if I ever become a journalist, I will try to focus on the positive...but I don't know if that profession even appeals to me. In our world today, it appears as if no journalist can be a success unless they delve into the realms of the most tragic, horrific topics. Our school suffered a horrible tragedy with the death of one of our most beloved student athletes...The press was camped out on our campus for days afterward...Strangely enough...they'd never shown up when anything good had happened at our school: they'd never come to cover student volunteers when they were honoured, or written articles about the achievements of many of our students...nope, the only thing that got wilton highschool on the front page of more than just our local newspapers was a tragedy...This says alot about human nature...It's seems kinda pathetic that nothing interests us any more unless it concerns a horrible misfortune that has befallen someone else...
