More Sixties Era Trolls
These 3" Uneeda Wishniks are known as Groovees. They have rhinestone eyes and mohair. Their clothes are one-piece and have silly sayings on them. Only one of these outfits is original...can you guess which one? It's the one in the center...I painted the other two. The original is valued at $15-$20*. These are fairly hard to find.
This unmarked 14" troll has red rooted saran hair! I've never seen one this size with rooted hair before, so I have to assume the aren't common. Her outfit looks homemade, but fairly old. This troll with mohair(nude) is worth $65-$100*...I have no idea how much it's worth with the rooted hair.
This 8" troll is a Royalty Designs Hobo Bank. He has long yellow mohair and plastic eyes. His outfit is all original. His value is $35-$45*.
This 3" black troll is made from the same mold as the Dam eskimo troll. He has red rhinestone eyes and white rabbit fur hair. He is marked "Made in Hong Kong" on the back. He is wearing orginal clothing. The value is $20*.
Thomas Dam tailed trolls are some of the most desirable to collectors. This is the 6 1/2" size. They also made a 3" and a 2 1/2". The large one(pictured here)has extremely detailed finger- and toe-nails and very pointy ears. I thought I would probably never be able to afford one because even the nude ones range in price from $95-$115. I eded up getting this one as a throw-in to make up the difference in price in a trade with someone. He had lost his tail, and the person I was trading with knew that I had used polymer clay on some of my trolls, so I figured I could fix him up. They were right! He looks almost as good as new! I also made him the outfit, modeled after the original. He seems pretty happy!
These three trolls are nodders. The one on the left is "Lucky". He is made of a chalk-like composition, which breaks easily. His head is chipped on the back. He has long white synthetic hair and plastic eyes. His value is $25-$35*. The other two nodders are also made of a chalk-like substance. They have rabbitfur hair and glass eyes. They wear glued-on briefs and hold sporting equipment. The golfer still has his original tag on the bottom of his foot which reads "Wales Reg. US Pat. Off. Made in Japan". I am unsure of their value.
