brilliant and very detailed writer, as well as prolific. It was her
book "Deryni Rising" which introduced me to the genre. Her
Deryni books are a wonderful mix of a believable fantasy land
and a medieval setting. People with magical ability battle
against the controlling church for the right to exist freely and
the innocent non-magical people are smack in the middle. It's
also a battle of good against evil, fear against knowledge,
and
has all the shadings between black and white. With superbly
written characters to care about and intricate plotlines, they are
books that you can easily climb into and forget your own world
for awhile!! Give them a try! You'll be enchanted!!!
