Half Octopus. Half Shark. All Killer.

The Sharktopus is a scourge of the sea attacking swimmers and ships with total fearlessness. They have the head and forebody of a prehistoric shark but the lower body of giant octopus. It is said that never stop growing as they age and that somewhere in the deep sea lies ancient sharktopus known as gigantus who destroy whole coastal cities with just one slap of it's tentacles. These are surely rumours, but perhaps...

Combat
The Sharktopus attacks with stunning force and savagery. If attacking a small or medium size ship the sharktopus will attempt to crush and bite it, then pick the survivors off the surface of the water. If the ship is very large the sharktopus will grab it roll, attempting to capsize the vessel. If this does not work it will then go for the sails and deck with its tentacles attempting to knock as many things in to the water as possible.

Beasts have low-light vision and darkvision with a range of 60 feet.

Improved Grab (ex): To use this ability the sharktopus must hit a Medium-size or smaller opponent with a tentacle rake attack. If it gets a hold it can use it's constrict or swallow whole attacks.

Constrict (ex): A Sharktopus deals 4D8 +12 damage against a Medium-size or smaller creatures with a succesfull grapple check.

Ink Cloud: A Sharktopus can emit a cloud of jet blakc ink 60 feet by 60 feet by 60 feet as a free action. The cloud provides total concealment which the sharktopus normally use to confuse and disorient their prey. Creatures within the cloud suffer the same effects as total darkness.

Jet: A Shorktopus can jet in any direction oce a round as a double action, at a speed of three hundred feet.

Keen Scent: A Sharktopus can notice creatures by scent in a three hundred foot radius a nd can smell blood from over five miles away.

Swallow Whole: A sharktopus can try to swallow a grabbed Medium-size or smaller creature by making a successful grapple check. The swallowed creature takes 3d8+ 12 crushing damge and 2d6 +2 acid damge per round. A swallowed creature can attempt to cut it's way out by inflicting more than fifty points of damage. Hole closes after, muscular yadda yadda. The gizzard can hold up four medium size creatures, or eight small, sixteen tiny, etc.

Society
o The Sharktopus is a viscious eating machine, an almost mindless killer. They are tirless trackers and once they smell blood they will pursue untill someone or something dies. They have been known to dog small ships for weeks, picking people off the deck at night, consuming boarding parties, yet always staying just out of sight. When a female sharktopus becomes pregnant she and the father will form a mated pair. The female becomes even more ravenously hungry than usual and the two will hunt together with great effectiveness. They will go much closer to shore than usual, attacking ferries, docks, and shipyards. They will rema ein together until lthe child is born two years later and then part ways as strangers. If they meet again no recognition is shown and they will fight for territory. The female sharktopus gives birth to a litter of three to six juvenile sharktopus' who are self sufficient from birth. Typically the two first born will team up to attack and consume their siblings, then swim off in opposite directions.
