The Kamael are humanoid chameleons.

They have a rounded bone crest atop their heads, independently focusable eyes, and thick curled tails. They have three fingers and one thumb on their hands and four toes, one of which points directly backwards. They have no finger nails or claws, and a bone ridge for teeth. They are a civilised race and can be found throughut the many free cities of the world.

Combat
Kamael's hate a fair fight. They will never initiate a confrontation unless they are sure they have some sort of advantage. They love a good ambush and will use their climbing skills to maximum effect if at all possible. Kameal's love ranged weapons and always try to get a few rounds off befoer combat really starts. They prefer smaller projectiles that be used two at a time such as darts, throwing knives, and of course the hand crossbow, which is so common among them that it has become a stereotype.

Cloaking: The Kamael changes it's skin pigmentation to a perfect copy of it's suroundings in real time. When it is holdign perfectly still the illusion is uncanny and the Chamael gains a +17 bonus to hide.

Independently Focusable Eyes: The Kamael can literaly look at two things at once. Among the many advantages of this is that they can target two subjects in ranged combat at NO penalty.

Society
Kamaels's a are typically a shifty, freewheeling race, who are highly pragmatic but still funloving. They originate from a series of secluded tropical islands and were pre-stone age tribes up till onyl a few hundred years ago. As such there are no Kamael cities or communities out side of said tropical islands. Indeed Kamael are without a culture and many times eggs are left behind buy impoverished mothers and the kamael must raise himself as an orphan. Kamael were never particularly social animals, even when living as tribes, and do not generally congregate in large groups by chance. It is estimated that over ninety percent of Kamael pursue proffesions that could be easily be described as Adventurer.

The Kamael's preferred classes are rogue, bard, and ranger.
