MEDICAL REPORT

From the Sundragon Fleet CMO

The Medical Department will be regularly contributing to the Warriors Way. If any Medical Personal wish to contribute, please send it to either the CMO, ACMO or Capt. B’leth Pallara.

Well, I suppose that I should start with a bit about myself. I am the new Chief Medical Officer of the Sundragon Fleet, Lt. Nel’eH vestai-Z’naR M.A.D. I am the head of the House of Z’naR, Commander of the IKV Dragons Spirit & the Commander of the Happy Hour Sector. I have received 1 Fleet Commendation & 5 Battle Notches. Well, that’s all I’m going to tell you about myself, so I’ll tell you a bit about the Medical Department now…..

The KAG Aust Fleet Medical Department is currently undertaking several new projects. These include a Web page, Klingon First Aid Course, Redesigning the MAD award, Designing an award for the Klingon First Aid Course & Getting a Database up & running with all KAG Aust Medical Personnel onto it. I am sure that these projects will keep us busy for a while. If any warriors wish to contribute to any of these projects, just contact either myself or Master Sergeant Korg Kiln.

After some of these projects are finished, Fleet Medical will be organizing First Aid Courses in the hopes that we can get most of the Fleet certified M.A.D.!!!! Don’t forget, that to be certified M.A.D., you have to send a copy of your current First Aid certificate to the CMO. This includes Resuscitation updates.

Well, that’s all from me

Minutes of the Hydra Meeting

Saturday 23rd October 1999

2:48pm Krud Convenes meeting of the old hydra

Present: Steve Mortimer ( Krud), Jo Mortimer (B’leth), Scott Driscol ( Krg’ahN), Amy Ryland (Keh’lahr), Katrina Paez (B’Etor), Owen Lamb (LeDel), Trevor Wheate ( Koord), Patrick Earl ( Seng), Helen Christie (N’eleH) via ICQ, and Jeff Clark (Qorgh).

Temporarily Absent: Adrian Murphy (arrived later during the meeting)

Apologies: David Ronnert ( MolaH).

  1. First Order Of Business
Jo, as first order of business proposes we tape the hydra meeting. Proposal carried.

2. Steve's Opening Remarks

Krud presses the point that everyone needs to lift their game, and do whatever they have committed themselves to.

Steve hands the meeting over to Jo.

Meeting convened proper at 2:51pm

3. Re-Deployments

3.1 Koord stands down as Flaming Talon Quadrant Commander to concentrate on the Warrior Academy exclusively. (Good Hamster!)

3.2 VeqtaH stands down as editor after next issue of the Warrior's Way to concentrate on studies

3.3 B’Elos Dax steps down as head of the fleet staff department

3.4 Amy to be moved from the FS to the FT QC

3.5 Firestorm to have no QC, but 3 sector commanders (David Ronnet, Helen Christie, Peter Sigley)

3.6 Qorgh takes up the Head of the Fleet Staff Department

4. HYDRA

4.1 Proposed Models

HYDRA MEMBERS

Fleet Commander
|
       Adjutant (Staff)        Adjutant (Operations)
|
Flaming Talon QC  Fleet Staff CO   Engineers Dept CO   Marine Commander

Advisers
Fire Storm Sector CO  Commandants (Warriors Academy)
KAG JAG  Chief Medicat Officer

Since the Hydra has an even number of members the Fleet Commander gets casting vote, which he is honour bound to vote for the status quo.

The 10 member Hydra was voted in unanimously

4.2 Hydra meetings need 1-month notice

4.3 If a member of the Hydra cannot make a meeting they will NOT get a vote unless absence was for a REALLY GOOD reason! Ie: " I was at the movies" does NOT constitute a valid reason.

5. Raising the profile of KAG

5.1 Our profile outside of Queensland is currently at an all time low. Jo raises the need to raise our profile Australia wide. Ways to accomplish this are:

6. Praxis 2000

Praxis next year coincides with Romany (SCA). Even though some of members will be at Romany, it was decided to go ahead with Praxis over the Easter long weekend (5 days next year). Not everyone is expected to be there the entire time, but to attend as much as they can.

7. Monthly Events

7.1 Jo proposed that we set aside one weekend each month for a KAG event, possibly the last weekend of the weekend of each month.

7.2 Qorgh suggests the setting up of an Events Committee, and subsequently Katrina "volunteers" Qorgh for it, immediately after the entire hydra unanimously agreed.

7.3 Koord announces that the first weekend of each month for the first seven months will be the Warrior Academy. Sign on forms will be available for at the KAG Christmas Party. An official sign on day is being planned. Graduate Fighting days, suggested for once a month, possibly as part of the monthly event.

7.4 Suggestions for possible events were Lazer Force, Bowling, and Diabolo Online.

7.5 Bowling for the Sectors, to tie into the bi-annual Fleet Bowl, how and where to be worked out. Trophy to be made and awarded to winning ship every 3 months.

7.6 Scott volunteered to create fleet bandannas.

Trevor (Koord) Leaves.

8. International News

8.1 Krud points out that Marine Handbook updates are not required, but would be nice. Adrian agrees to update the IMSF handbook.

8.2 Steve & Jo & Scott & Adrian are on the Commandinformer list, representing Australia in KAG

8.3 The Thought Admiral has set up a KAG Council to advise the thought admiral. To advise and run KAG several members of the Sundragon Fleet have been asked to join.
Steve that he is extremely pleased with the Sundragon Fleet, and that we are the most active fleet in KAG at this time.

      1. New Ideas from the Commandinformer List
8.5.1 Smaller areas that have 1-4 members can now become fighters, outposts, or communication relays, up to the individuals on what they call them selves.

8.5.2 New ranks for proposals for non-commissioned officers are Master Sargent (Age 20+ active warrior without uniform) & Chief Petty Officer (Age 20+ very active warrior without uniform highest rank a non-Klingon officer can obtain. If uniformed normal ranks apply).

9. CD Project

Qorgh gave a brief run down of the Sundragon CD Project and a small discussion (see attachments). Included will be member details, how to make a uniform (special photos) and descriptions by the creator, and many contributions.

Rank Badges
Scott announces the beginning of constructing prototype Rank Badges, and casting them, also revamp of other decorations with the possibility of casting them in pewter is being investigated. They will be available at a small price around $2 for the rank and fleet badge set. When you advance in rank you can either pay the $2 again or simply trade in your rank pin.

11. Honour Guard

The Honour Guard has no connection with the Warrior Academy. It is a Marine project open to Marines only. A special award can be set up for the top graduate of the Academy instead.

  1. Dragon Star Momenta Trophies.
Knuckleths or small hand held versions of the Sword of Kahless, will be produced and given as something the winners of the Dragon Star Award may keep when they return the Big version.

13. ID Cards

ID Cards were raised again, getting the information from the Fleet database, which will be set up with crew manifests provided, by each ship. The ID cards will be available in 3 different backgrounds with the member’s photo on it.

14. Promotion certificates

New Promotion Certificate Contest has been set up where anyone can submit a certificate with the winner being decided at the next Hydra meeting.

15. Departments

15.1 Fleet Staff and Engineers announced that they would be working closer together on several projects.

15.2 The Warriors Way would be getting a new format after December 1999 issue. Jo will be taking over as the new editor and 2 or 3 assistants will be appointed, and several regular columnists will be added as well.

15.3 A call was put forward that all members of the hydra try to send 2 messages a week to the Kagaust coollist to re-stimulate conversation. Also, some people have requested no messages that have one sentence, and when replying to messages are sure to only include the relevant bits of the previous message not the entire message.

15.4 Final summing up of Departments.

17. Bloodsong

IKV BLOODSONG is dry docked and her crew are being transferred thusly:

18. Promotion
