Stories Featuring Zade and Blaymore

 
The basic ideas for the setting for Pedigree Of The Gladiators and the basics for some of the background characters were, at least in part, provided or inspired by Marc Washington.  Those characters and ideas provided by Marc came from the pasts of two of his characters, Zade and Blaymore.   You can read about Zade and Blaymore, after they left the kingdom where Pedigree is set, in the stories listed below.

Nathaniel Ellis is only about 6 years older than Zade and Blaymore.  He had not yet been acknowleged by his father and was the alchemist's young assistant during the period when Zade and Blaymore escaped the kingdom where Pedigree is set.  Nathaniel Jackson, The bastard son of Slave Master Matthew Ellis, was later acknowledged as Nathaniel Ellis when his father's legitimate heirs died tragically.
