Finding Truth:
Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the characters. They belong to Joss Whedon and the WB network.
Authors Notes:This is the Second part of the Series Finding Truth. Also, Thanks again Cindy and Kristen.
Scene 1:
(At the dorm)
Willow: So, is Angel going back to LA?
Buffy: I don’t even know what he’s even doing here.
Willow: Maybe he missed you.
Buffy: Will, I think it has to do with our common denominator, demons.
Willow: How do you know? Did you ask him.
Buffy: What am I going to say? I have nothing to say.
Willow: Except the fact that you get all mushy when you see him.
Buffy: You know I had a wonderful crush on a boy who turns out to be Mr. Army Guy and then, my old vampire boyfriend comes back to town for reasons I don’t know of. Will, what am I suppose to do?
Willow: Buffy, It’s time to ask yourself some serious questions. Do you like the vampire or the human.
Buffy: You know I wish Angel was human. That would make things a lot easier.
Willow: Would it? Even if he was you were still the slayer.
Buffy: Now I wish another slayer would take my place preferably not evil like Faith.
Willow: Her name still makes me feel queasy.
Buffy: Is it warm in here or is it me.
Willow: It’s warm.
Buffy: I’ll open the window.
(Buffy goes to the window and feels the sensation of Angel watching her. Buffy sighed and tucked herself into bed and shut the light off.)
(Outside)
Cordelia: OK, may I ask what we’re doing here.
Angel: Hunting demons.
Cordelia: How fun. You know someone else would definitely be better than this besides me. Maybe, a girl we both know that’s a vampire slayer. Little miss Buffy.
Angel: Cordelia.
Cordelia: Sorry, this just isn’t my scene. Sure, fine, office work, memos, calls, I can handle but, this.
Angel: Cordelia, all you do is put the pointy end of the stake in the heart. You think you can handle that.
Cordelia: Hey, I’m not helpless. I’ve slayed a few vamps in my time Mister.
Angel: It’s late. You can go home.
Cordelia: Thank you. Hey, Angel when are we going back to LA?
Angel: When I find out what I want.
Cordelia: Fine. Bye.
(Angel stopped and turned to the half opened window in the Stevenson Dorm and sighed)
Angel: Sleep tight Buffy.
Scene 2:
(Next morning at Giles’ house)
Buffy: So, Giles we know about the Comandos and Professor Walsh. What’s next?
Giles: How about the end of the world.
Buffy: Again.
Willow: Great. There goes wicke class.
Xander: Still trying to master that flying pencil thing, Will.
Willow: Thanks for the void of confidence.
Buffy: Change of subject here. What’s going on.
Giles: Tomorrow night. It’s the 2nd blue moon in a month which is extremely strange.
Willow: I’ll say.
Buffy: So, what do the vamps do on this night.
Xander: Wait don’t tell me. Open the Hellmouth.
Buffy: You know the day I was going to go to a party is the day the demons come. This slayer thing really takes away from my social time.
Willow: Buffy the party starts at seven. I think you can juggle both.
Giles: Actually, you can.
Buffy: Really. I can.
Giles: This doesn’t start until twelve midnight.
Buffy: Thank you. I can actually have the end of the world party.
Xander: Yeah.
Willow: Should we tell Cordelia and Angel now that they’re in town.
Buffy: I’ll do it.
Giles: Good. Well, tea anyone?
Scene 3:
(The mansion)
Cordelia: Hey Angel I’m gonna go get a bight to eat since all you got in here is blood, K?
Angel: Fine
Cordelia: Later.
(As Cordelia left Buffy walked into the mansion. She was nervous even to approach him about demons and the world ending which she thought was strange of her. She made her way in and saw Angel reading a book by the fire place. She always had a safe feeling around her when she saw Angel. She missed it.)
Buffy: Hey stranger.
Angel: Buffy. I wasn’t expecting you.
Buffy: I know. I need your help.
Angel: What is it?
Buffy: Hellmouth, demons. The norm.
Angel: Oh. When?
Buffy: Tonight. It suppose to take place at twelve.
Angel: Never a dull moment on the Hellmouth.
Buffy: True.
Angel: I’ll come around sunset to the Library.
Buffy: It’s not really a Library anymore. It’s more of a pile of rubble.
Angel: I remember.
Buffy: Oh, I won’t be at the Library until ten.
Angel: Why ten.
Buffy: Our dorm is just holding a party to celebrate the blue moon. It’s no big deal.
Angel: Yeah.
Buffy: Well, I’ll see you later.
Angel: OK.
Buffy: Bye.
Angel: Bye.
Scene 4:
(At Stevenson Dorm. The Blue Moon Party)
Willow: So, you like the party?
Buffy: Time of my life.
Willow: You hate it.
Buffy: Life sucks. Wasn’t there a time last year that we both had boyfriends that we loved and now look at us Will. We are both single.
Willow: Oh, Well.
Buffy: How can you be so happy about this.
Willow: I don’t know. I guess you gotta concentrate on other stuff.
Buffy: I can do that. I can do homework and slay demons.
Willow: That might do it.
Buffy: Yeah.
Willow: Army alert.
Buffy: Grrrrrr.
Riley: Hey Buffy.
Buffy: Riley.
Riley: Do you want to dance?
Buffy: I thought you don’t dance.
Riley: I don’t.
Buffy: Then why do something you don’t want to do?
Riley: The same reason you do.
Buffy: What is that suppose to mean?
Riley: You go around fighting vampires and other demons and you don’t want to do it?
Buffy: No.
Riley: See, I don’t understand that.
Buffy: You wouldn’t. It’s not a privilege like you think it is. It’s a burden. It always has been on me. It’s not like I see a demon and I say yeah. Things have happened while I was the slayer you wouldn’t imagine. You wouldn’t understand.
Riley: Explain it to me.
Buffy: It’s a long story.
Riley: I have time.
Buffy: I don’t.
Riley: I don’t get you Buffy.
Buffy: No one does except for one person.
(At that moment Buffy walked away from Riley and went to join Willow and Xander.)
Buffy: I hate life.
Xander: Likewise.
(Then, the song Buffy and Angel danced to in the prom came on)
Willow: Buffy. Turn around.
(Buffy turned around and saw Angel holding a rose in his hands. Buffy felt her heart skip a beat as Angel approached. She then walked a few steps to meet with him.)
Buffy: What are you doing here?
Angel: Living in the now. I learned from the master.
Buffy: That would be me right.
Angel: That would be correct. Dance with me.
Buffy: I’m getting a slight case of Day Sha Voo.
(They danced just like they did at the Prom)
Scene 5:
(At the burned down Library)
Willow: Wow. Look at the damage.
Buffy: You know it’s ironic. Every school I went to I burned it to the grown.
Xander: Funny.
Spike: Dam slayer you are the destructive one are a. You even burned down me and Dru’s home.
Buffy: That was the only building I wanted to burn down.
Giles: Shall we.
Angel: This is going to be fun.
Buffy: May I ask where Cordelia is?
Angel: She didn’t want to break a nail.
Buffy: Still the same old Cordelia.
(The gang entered the burned down Library and saw that it was 5 minutes until 12 am.)
Riley: So, this is where you guys hang out.
Buffy: Riley, what the hell are you doing here? Never mind that. Leave. You have to leave.
Angel: She’s right. You should go.
Riley: I don’t have to listen to you.
Angel: I’m just trying to protect you.
Riley: You’re trying to steal Buffy away from me.
Angel: She was never yours to begin with.
(Angel turned into his vampire face at that moment)
Riley: You’re a demon.
(Angel was about to hit him when Riley pulled out his elecrto gun and electrified Angel. Angel wasn’t getting up.)
Buffy: Angel! What did you do?
(As the earth began to shake the Hellmouth opened and the demons came to party.)
Buffy: Spike, move Angel.
(Buffy saw an old pip leaking with water and grabbed Riley’s new tech gun and shot it on the puddle of water and the demons were electrified.)
Buffy: Can we go home now.
Xander: That’s it. We’re done.
Giles: Well done Buffy.
Buffy: Thank you.
Riley: Buffy I...
Buffy: I suggest you leave.
(Riley left and Buffy went to Angel)
Buffy: Giles, will he be OK?
Giles: Yeah, just sore for a few days.
(Angel opened his eyes and admitted he was sore by trying to get up but, failed the process.)
Buffy: Let’s go.
Scene 6
Buffy: So, you glad to be back on the Hellmouth.
Angel: It depends on how you look at it.
Buffy: I guess so. Are you feeling OK?
Angel: Your boyfriends got good aim.
Buffy: He’s not my boyfriend.
Angel: Buffy, I wanted to tell you why I came back to Sunnnydale. But, then I realized I shouldn’t.
Buffy: Why?
Angel: Because, you have your own life here without me. It would just make things more complicated.
Buffy: Who said life was easy.
Angel: It hurts. Us.
Buffy: I know but, it also puts a smile on my face. Every time you walk into a room I smile and it feels real. Not fake but, you can’t see it.
Angel: I’m scared to.
Buffy: Well, until you conquer that fear your gonna wined up very lonely.
Angel: Stay in college Buffy. You’re very smart.
Buffy: I’ll see you tomorrow Angel. Another day, another demon.
Angel: Always on the Hellmouth.
Buffy: Bye.
