The Contentment Series:
Disclaimer: People, people okay, I do not own these lovely people that Joss has created. B or A, G, W, O, X, C, S, or D. Natasha, Jake, the other guy's name I don't remember, Vicky, Steve and their children belong to me.
Rating: PG A little violence/a little innuendo (nothing pornish)/mild oaths (really mild)
Okay so this story I actually wrote way back like 97 or 98. Whenever Becoming was. It was to get over the acid trip that Joss made everyone take. In my world Buffy and Angel are as one. Teh way it should be. In my world they can live the vida loca without actually experienceing the affects of the vida loca 'tude. So take the ride with me to La La Land where everything is just Feelin' Groovy.
Prologue
Spike was majorly pissed. They weren't dying and that was something that he wasn't taking too well. He had killed them as a warning to the Slayer and Angelus and yet they all continued to live happily. He knew that something was up but if he could just put his hand on it. He wanted more than revenge, he was to avenge the new found sickness in Dru. He called it Angel Sickness.
For four whole months, Angelus was back again. It was like old times. They were death. Coming around everyone's door. Mercilessly stealing the lives out of victim's bodies. Causing terror and heartache to the Slayer her self. Slowly destroying her world until it was a little black ball of nothingness. Amorphous in every way.
This vicarious nature was naturally welcomed at first. Angel was his sire after all. He was his man. He taught him everything he knew. But the years of his loss to the good side had taken it's toll. Oh he was bad again, but Spike knew deep down he still had a thing for the Slayer. Call it love or obsession. Fact is, he wouldn't kill the bloody thing when he had the chance. And that made Spike impatient.
The minute Angel came back onto the scene he started to taking over the works. Something that Spike had been doing for a while and it was taking to his liking much. Not only did Angel want complete control, but he wanted something else too. He wanted something that Spike would never give up without a fight. Drusilla. The key to his heart. Angel just wanted her because he knew he could have her. She was always in love with Angel. She belonged to Angel first but, since he had strayed, Dru was now Spike's. Angelus comes back and Dru forgets Spike, obviously enjoying playing Spike against his "father." And it was working a little too well, for Dru was now madly in love with Angel and thought nothing but of him all day and night.
Spike had tried to comfort her in every way that he could but it wasn't working. He needed to think of something good and fast before he lost Dru to a dream forever. *Bleak him! This is all him and that mucky Slayer's fault. If they could have just kept off of each others stock, then all of this wouldn't have happened. But no. He just had to have her. She just had to have him. Doesn't anyone think about the consequences anymore?*
Just as he was thinking this Dru came out and whimpered lightly. "Spike. . .I miss him. I miss Angel. I want him back Spike. Don't you?"
Spike turned around immediately to face his love. "No ducks, I can't say that I do. But I can make you happy Dru. Forget about him. He's nothing but a softy. Whipped. You don't need him."
Dru smiled and then cried out again. She spun around and landed on the floor gently. "Don't you wish you could fix things Spike? Hmmm? The way Angel could? He was good with his hands. Nice and smooth like Ms. Edith's silk sheets." A playful smile replaced her sullen one and she looked directly at her lover. She knew what she was doing. She was crazy but she wasn't stupid. Spike was so blinded by love that he didn't realize it. He just saw her as vulnerable and weak.
At this point both passion and anger was building up inside of him like hot on top of cold. He growled and pushed her into the wall causing her to cry. "Spike! You're hurtin' me." She became soft spoken again. Almost feeble. Spike regretted the way he had acted at once. He kissed her passionately. She responded back with all of her strength.
"I'm sorry pet. Its just that Angel hurt you. Don't you see that I would never hurt you the way Angel did? He left you for another girl. A younger one. The Slayer of all people. Do you think that I would ever, could ever, do that to you?" She paused one moment weighing her options. She kissed him gently and he immediately released his grip when she started to squirm.
Not answering his question she changed the subject abruptly. "Spike do you like what my visions tell you?" He wasn't done with her yet but he let it slide. He would deal with it later. Right now he knew that Dru was getting something.
"Oh yes pet. Are you getting something?"
"Yes. The moon is whispering gently to the wind. The wind is telling the tree something. The tree is telling the water. The ripples echoing what they hear. They're spreading out trying to reach each other and tell this bit of juicy meat," she said in a trance like state.
Spike walked near one of the windows. "And what are they saying love?"
Dru smiled naughtily. "I want more dolls Spike. Miss Edith has been asking for playmates since the bad Slayer burnt her old ones all up at the factory. She's quite lonely. Drinking all that tea alone."
Spike came back over to her with a smile on his face. "How 'bout I strike you up a deal pet? I'll get you as many dolls as you want if you give me what I want." She whirled around the room he bouncy curls going in different directions.
"That would be lovely. Then Miss Edith wouldn't want me to play with her all the time. Instead, I could play with you," she replied in a playful and almost husky voice.
Spike picked her up and kissed her again. He remembered what he needed to know and he put her down reluctantly. "Yeah and that too. Now tell me."
She placed her fingers over his chest and let them crawl down towards his stomach. "It speaks of The Slayer and her friends. She has some new ones. . .two. Oh!. . .but Angel knows them well. They are old friends of his. Very old friends of his. And wait. . .the only way you can kill all of them. . .is if you bring me their heads."
Spike took in this new piece of information. "So that's what they are. They're immortal for crying out loud. Well," he said grunting, "why didn't they just tell me then? I would have understood. They let me just waste my energy."
All of the sudden a sharp screech came from Drusilla. Spike immediately dropped to the floor with her. "Dru! What's wrong love?" She was shaking terribly. Her eyes rolled in the back of her head and then came back in the front.
"He has forsaken us Spike. He left me." Dru rolled over and then back again. Digging her nails into the cement ground. Spike looked at her worried. He had a feeling it had something do with Angel. Everything had these days.
"Dru, darling, talk to me. What else do you see?" Spike said calmly trying not to show his excitement. The last time Dru acted like this was when the wanker lost his soul.
She cried. Tears running down her face. "Mother Earth says that a babe shall be born unto someone. It's the Slayer's. Daddy has hurt me a lot now." She laughed through her tears. Slowly then more louder and cynically. "Spike? Bring me their heads. All of them. Will you do that for me? Will you do that for the princess?"
Spike and picked her up from off the floor and carried her to the bed. He laid her down gently and tucked her in. "I'll do that pet. I'll do it all for you." He kissed her on her nose. "Now get some sleep. I'll join you in a little bit." She nodded and then closed her eyes. He went back into the living room area and snapped his finger. "Peter, Jake, Natasha. I want you to keep a close watch on the Slayer, Angel, and their Wannabes. We're gonna have a little fun this week. Watch closely and learn."
