Boxes were stacked and shoved into corners to make little aisles and passages through the rooms and hallways in Buffy and Angel's new home. Everything had turned out as planned except for Jena's premature delivery due to a fight gone bad between a vampire while on a patrol that she should have never been on in the first place. "It was supposed to be a quiet night and it was suppose d to be a quick sweep." Were her words to defend her actions after being lectured by Angel. He had fear for the safety of Buffy since he laid eyes on her. From the moment he was given the glorious news Buffy wasn't permitted to go on patrol. And if she did it was only in certain circumstances and that she was to be with someone at all times. Angel was given everything all at once and didn't want to lose it all in one night either. He looked forward to the idea of watching his child grow up and marry someone-suitable of course.

The paint was freshly layered on the walls of the interior and the smell was that of newly replaced carpet and not of someone else's scent. Although Angel had become human he still carried the abilities that of a vampire. Hence; the ability to smell people especially Buffy. Buffy had the most intense aroma to her. Of soft vanilla and Ivory soap, just like a-

She passed by him as he sat on the only piece of furniture in the bedroom, the bed. He could automatically sense her mood. She had thought about this for months and it was finally becoming real and she wasn't about let it all just pass her by. Everyone believed that she was crazy that she would get married, have a baby and move into a new house by the end of spring. It was finally summer and the days were perfect to spend with your little bundle of joy and the father of that little bundle of joy, her husband. Buffy knew that she would adjust excellently.

He watched her move about the room and sort things out from the boxes and suitcases, trying to get a descent outfit to wear in all the mess they were living in at the moment. She stopped, knelt down, hovering over a cardboard box and looked at him. "You know...I would love you even more if you called the movers to see what was keeping them so long." Giving her best smile she made her way over to him.

"What time did you say they were supposed to be here?" As she came closer he set his hands on her waists and looked up at her.

"8 o'clock." Putting her hands on his shoulders. He looked down at his watch and read it.

"It's only 8:30, Buffy. Are you really that anxious? We have all day." She gave him a "are you crazy?" stare. He looked around the room from her "response" and noticed that she had a point when he took a mental note on how many boxes were in their room alone. "I see your point...." He sat up, just enough to reach her face and lightly kissed her lips. "I'll make the call."

"They said that they were going to be here in about an hour." Angel came into the living room where he saw Buffy holding Jena, while she sat in a folding chair, making her best of it since she was missing her rocker for the time being. Angel's heart leaped as he watched his wife feed their daughter. Jena slept well at night, that was a blessing since they didn't get very much of it as it was anyway, but she didn't like being left alone. She wasn't too picky on who it was, just as long as it was someone she knew and would stay with her.

Buffy watched her little girl's lips suck on her breast and couldn't help but wonder how she had gotten so lucky. Jena had inherited her mother's facial features except for the color of her eyes and hair. Those belonged to Angel, her father. She carried deep chocolate eyes as well as soft hair. Her build was almost identical to that of Buffy's, besides the difference in size, and Buffy still had feelings in her at times when she got too caught up with Jena's adorable features that she almost asked herself who's baby this belonged to? She was still letting everything sink in.

"Did you want to go and get something to eat?" Angel walked hovered over Buffy as she remained seated.

"Sure....Just let me button up?" She looked to him as she eased Jena away from her chest and handed her to Angel. Once she had finished recovering herself she and Angel secured Jena into her car seat and drove to the nearest restaurant.

After about thirty minutes they thought that it was about time that they leave and make it back for the movers to arrive. It was a quick meal. Angel and Buffy weren't really picky at the moment. Everything else was so difficult around them, therefore a sense of what they ate just, simply, wasn't.

As Angel waited for a green light just a few blocks from their home, Buffy sat with Jena in the back-seat and continued to try and calm the fussing baby down. She wasn't really crying aloud, but she was making it known that she needed attention, or at least she wasn't comfortable. "Shhh....Its okay baby....We're almost home." Buffy lightly rubbed her small tummy. She was able to relax, just enough to ease her face into a small scowl and looked at her mother. As if Buffy had put a trance on the child. She was calm and yet she still wanted to be paid attention to.

Angel's green light had finally came and replaced his foot on the gas. As soon as they reached the middle on the intersection something else hit them with emense force. They both reacted in different ways. Angel tried to control the car as he, too, tried to protect himself from getting hurt. The rear was bounced forward, pushing the rest of the car up further as the shock had continued to rain through. Finally, Angel was able to completely stop the car after a few seconds of composing a dance of manurers on the steering wheel. Once the car had stopped the only sound that Angel could hear was that of his frightened and crying baby. Panicked, Angel turned around immediately and looked at Buffy. She had her hand firmly on Jena's body, giving more support from the lash of impact. Buffy was, although completely aware, still in shock and looked dead on into Angel's face in confusion. "Buffy?" She continued to look at him. He took off his seat belt non hesitantly and got out of the car. He quickly made his way around to her door and swung it open. "Are you alright?" Buffy snapped out of it as Angel put his hands on her shoulders.

"Yeah," she breathed.

"Jena?" He looked around her body and released Buffy as they both tried to unbuckle her as well and take her out of the car-seat. Buffy placed the tiny body on her lap, while she still cried, and held her head. Angel scanned his daughter's body with his hands for any cuts or bruises and concluded that they were both safe and well. At least, besides the shock.

He plucked Jena from Buffy's arms and enveloped her into his much larger chest and started to get out of the car with Buffy following closely behind. People rushed to the three of them beside the damaged car and began to asked ask them constant questions of their health. Jena only fussed with being overwhelmed. Angel knew from the pit of his stomach that she was scared. Perhaps even more than he of her. She didn't like not knowing what was going on around her and he knew that very well of his daughter. For, neither did he. Her father adjusted her so that her body laid vertical against his chest as if they were laying down. Each night she slept with her parents for at least part of the night in her usual spot on his chest. She took much comfort to the sounds of his voice as he talked to Buffy and the movements and rhythm that was conducted by his breathing. Jena balled up closely to his chest and relaxed her body completely into his hands. When she had finally stopped rasping for breath from the loss of it while she cried, he positioned his left hand just so on her back and bottom that he held her with the one hand. The other wrapped tightly around Buffy's waist and replayed the whole event in his mind.

Coming to realization that he was again lucky to have been alive. For the third time. First to be with Buffy again on the Day That Wasn't, second; when he was reborn with humanity and soul as well as mortality, third; that day. To be able to live at watch his daughter grow up. And to be with Buffy and grow old with her as well. He was blessed with every wish that he had ever spoke or dreamed upon. He knew then that he will forever thank and be in debt to what ever Power's That Be that exist.

Angel and Buffy had called for a ride home from Willow as their car was taken to the shop to get fixed. Angel opened the front door with Jena in his open hand, Buffy towed behind him with her hands clenching and holding on to his butt pockets on his jeans. She was a bit nervous from everything that had happened on the way back from breakfast but she was ok in the long run. She had been in a few car accidents before, she just never had a scare that her daughter might have been hurt in one at the same time. And Angel, Angel was shaken by the fact that he knew that he could handle the crash, he has been in worse scenerios. But his heart skipped a few beats as well as his lungs were deprived of a few gasping breaths of air from the thoughts that his wife, his soul mate would be injured, or worse, killed along with his daughter. And in the same day non the less. Angel felt sick with the thought.

"Angel? Why don't we put Jena down and go take a nap?" She leaned her body on his back with her head pressed just below his shoulder blades.

"Are you sure you're ok, Baby?" Angel stopped next to the in table set by the couch and the hallway to the rooms. His hands were unconsciously rubbing the sensitive back of his daughter's.

"Emmm hmm." He felt her head move her head from side to side as she still kept her forehead on his back. Buffy was feeling weak. To the knees and to the rest of her body's muscles. To keep her stance she removed her hands from his pockets to the tops of her shoulders.

Angel was worried now. He could feel her hands shake as she migrated her hands on his body. He knew that Buffy was ok physically, but she was sick inside. She wasn't taking this too well. He walked, with Buffy still trailing behind him, to the nursery and placed Jena in the crib. He was hesitant to make sure if she was going to stay peaceful with her seperation from his body. Buffy came around and stood infront of him with her body's faith on his chest. Buffy watched as her baby lightly suckled on her fist and made smiles in her sleep. Buffy remembered something that her grandmother had once told her about babies and sleeping. "The smiles that appear on their faces as they sleep are from those that they are making at the angels that appear in their dreams." Buffy smiled herself at replaying those words in her head. Then realising that she still felt nausous, she turned around and-

Angel was right on top of it. He knew exactly what to do and why. As soon as Buffy had turned around he placed his hands on her waist and picked her up, wrapping her legs around his hips. His hand held her weight at her butt and the other caressed her back. He walked her back to their room and sat down on the bed. Laying down, he took her with him. He easily unbuttoned her shirt and slid it off of her shoulders and layed it to the side on the bed and moved to her jeans. He sat up after he had undone her jeans and removed her shoes and socks and began to lightly pull at the legs of her pants, setting them with the rest of her cloths on the bed. He replaced himself under her so that she could relax against his chest once more. "Just relax. Everything is fine. You're safe. Jena's safe. Relax. Please." He knew exactly why she was feeling sick. Not because of a virus, that was just sort of hard for a Slayer to catch but because she was scared out of her skin for a moment today by something that she had no control or defense over. This wasn't something demonic that had "attacked" them. It was something out of her hands. And thats what scared her. That there still were things that she could not protect herself against. Things that she still had thanks for to those who still permitted her to live.
