"I'm gonna whoop your ass," Leslie said.
"You don't have a chance in Hell," replied Kenshi.
"You just don't believe that a girl can beat you."
"I just know that you can't." Kenshi laughed a little.
"Well if you don't hurry up, the bowling alley will be closed."
"Well I'm ready; I've been ready. I'm waiting for you." He smirked a little.
Leslie narrowed her eyes. "Waiting for me to do what? I've been sitting here waiting for 15 minutes now."
Kenshi smirked even more. "I'm waiting for you to get in the car, so quit sitting here."
Leslie gave Kenshi a frustrated look and stood up. She headed for the door and Kenshi followed. They both exited the house, locking the door behind them, and approached the car.
Kenshi asked, "Would you like to drive this time?"
Leslie smiled. "Well... I don't know."
Kenshi smirked again. "Alright, if you don't want to..."
Leslie held out an open hand. "You talked me into it."
Kenshi laughed and gave her the keys. She took them and ran happily to the driver's door. Kenshi walked to the passenger's door which felt strange to him. They both entered the car and shut the door.
Leslie humorously asked, "Now how do you start this thing?"
Kenshi's eyes widened as a worried expression appeared on his face.
Leslie laughed. "I'm just joking," she said as she started the car. She piloted the car smoothly through the driveway and turned onto the highway.
After they had traveled some distance down the road, Kenshi said "Not bad."
"Of course. I wouldn't have a driver's license if I didn't know how to drive."
Kenshi smirked. "Even so, these women drivers nowadays..."
Leslie's eyes narrowed as she retorted, "What's that supposed to mean?"
Kenshi showed his false face of worry. "It means you smell good?"
Leslie laughed. "Haven't we been through that before?"
"I just can't compliment your scent enough."
She narrowed her eyes. "You only do it when you're in trouble."
The two continued talking for the remainder of the trip. After a while, they finally reached their destination and Leslie pulled into the parking lot of the bowling alley.
As they were looking for a parking space, Kenshi pointed out, "Hey. There's Tanso's car. Wonder what he's up to."
Leslie grew disappointed. "I don't know."
Tanso happened to be in his car and jumped out to stop Kenshi. Leslie stopped and Tanso walked up to Kenshi's window.
"Kenshi, I'm not surprised to see you here," Tanso started.
Leslie looked angrily at Kenshi as if he had done something wrong.
"You mean you knew about our date?" Kenshi said to Tanso.
Tanso looked surprised. "Date? I figured you came to kill the centra that threatened to come here and start trouble."
Kenshi started, "I hadn't even..." but stopped in the middle of his sentence as he saw someone peek out from around the corner of the building and jump back behind it. Leslie and Tanso looked confused but Kenshi opened the door to his car. Tanso stepped back and Kenshi started running toward where he saw the man. Leslie killed the car, pulled out the keys, and ran after him leaving the car in the middle of an isle. Tanso was quick to follow.
Kenshi met the man behind the building. He confirmed him to be a centra, likely the one that Tanso had mentioned. Kenshi was the first to speak. "Are you the one that threatened to start trouble here?"
The man smirked and laughed a little. "What's it to you?" he asked.
Kenshi's eyes narrowed. "Because if you are, I'll see to it that it doesn't happen."
The man laughed again and looked behind Kenshi. "I see you've brought your girlfriend and friend. How cute. They'll get to watch the slaying of the almighty Kenshi.
Kenshi produced his yellow sword in his hand and took his fighting stance. "I don't think that will be happening. I cannot be defeated."
The other man produced his sword which was also yellow. "You're overconfident. I'll have to fix that. By the way, my name is Kiras, although you won't be alive long enough to remember it."
Kenshi lunged at his opponent with his sword over his shoulder. As he neared his target, he swung his sword down at Kiras's head. Kiras blocked the attack with his sword and swung it toward Kenshi's side. Kenshi blocked the shot and swung back at his opponent's head. Kiras dodged the shot by ducking and started charging a megaflare between his hands. Kenshi didn't realize what he was doing for a second, but then swing his sword back down at Kiras's head again. But he was too slow; Kiras threw the megaflare into Kenshi's abdomen, causing him to fly back several feet and fall to the ground. Kiras was also knocked back from the close range but got back up without difficulty while Kenshi continued laying.
Leslie ran to Kenshi worriedly. Tanso watched with amazement. As Leslie checked on her loved one, Kiras approached both of them. Leslie stayed with Kenshi, ignoring Kiras. When Kiras got next to the two of them, he grabbed Leslie's shirt and threw her off of Kenshi. He turned to her and started walking toward her. Tanso started to approach but he saw Kenshi stand back up angrily.
Kiras turned back and laughed. "Ha ha, so Kenshi wants to play some more huh?"
Kenshi's fists were clenched tightly and his veins and muscles were more protrusive than usual. Kiras started to feel the ground vibrate as a worried expression came over his face. Kenshi started baring his teeth as a dog does to his enemies. A small glow formed around Kenshi as his arms shook from anger. The glowing dragon prince stared at his enemy. Kiras stared back but couldn't hide the worried expression from his face.
Finally Kenshi said to Leslie in a low tone, "Get away from him."
Leslie slowly moved away from Kiras, who still stood in amazement and fear. Finally she started running and ran to Kenshi, wrapping her arms around him.
Kenshi didn't move, but just continued staring angrily and spoke to her again, "Get back."
She looked up at Kenshi's face and saw an anger that she had never seen on him before. She decided to obey him and returned to where Tanso still stood.
Kenshi yelled out a battle cry as he ran toward his enemy. He swung his sword toward Kiras at superhuman speed, who managed to block the swing but was knocked back several feet by the force. Before Kiras could regain his balance, Kenshi came in with another attack. Kiras blocked once more but was knocked to the ground this time. Kenshi reached down and grabbed him by the neck. Then he pulled him up and threw him about 20 feet into the wall of the building. Kenshi then lunged at Kiras and stabbed his sword through the chest of his victim. Kiras's eyes widened one last time before he fell limp on Kenshi's sword. Kenshi continued staring at his victim breathing heavily.
Leslie cried out, "Kenshi!" but he didn't move as if in a trance. She ran up to him and said, "Kenshi, he's dead," but Kenshi still didn't move. Finally she put her hand in front of his eyes to obstruct his view from the corpse. Kenshi blinked a few times and then looked at her. She asked worriedly, "Are you alright?"
He responded, "Yeah," but his tone suggested that he was still somewhat out of it.
In her doubt, she asked, "Are you sure?"
He started listing the events that had just occurred. "I came back here to fight that guy... He knocked me down and you ran to me, but then he smacked you..."
Leslie watched as his eyes slowly closed and he fell to the ground unconscious. Leslie kneeled down above the fallen centra to try to see what was wrong.
Tanso ran up next to them. "He's probably just very tired from that display he just showed."
Leslie stayed kneeled beside Kenshi and Tanso stood nearby. After a minute or two, Kenshi finally opened his eyes. He looked up at Leslie's face as she smiled.
"Where are we?" he asked.
"We're behind the bowling alley, remember?" she replied.
"Oh yeah. And I came back here to fight that guy. I guess I lost."
Tanso laughed. "You didn't lose at all. I was a bit worried at first but when you started glowing, I knew it was all over."
Kenshi looked at him confused. "What the hell are you talking about? Are you trying to mess with my mind?"
Leslie jumped in, "You mean you don't remember?"
"No. I just remember fighting him but I can't remember how it ended." Kenshi slowly rose to his feet. Leslie tried to help but she couldn't do much with his weight. He continued, "I think it's time to go bowl now. But I'm feeling funky so you may have an advantage."
Leslie laughed and all three started walking around the building. Obviously no one had known the scene had happened or they didn't care to stay and watch.
