Insomnia

Delithita

Sitting inside of her executioner, she worked on the computer systems, tweaking and redesigning the systems. Having recently gotten GOOD with computers she now found herself infatuated with their workings.

The HERC bay was empty at this hour. Partly because it was early morning partly because she had entered in an incredibly sour mood.

She had just finished her latest mod, and closed the casing to the computer when she heard a noise. Stopping she hopped out of her HERC. Looking around she heard the noise again. A child in the HERC bay. Getting annoyed because the HERC bay was restricted to children she started searching for it. Laughter, always just around the next turn. Finally she wound up in the middle of the HERC bay again just beside a fuel storage tank. Scratching her head she shrugged, no longer hearing the child she started back before her HERC.

Something was behind her. Spinning she threw a punch that would have winded an adult, and knocked a child out she came into contact with a very solidly built person. Looking she saw blackness. Taking a step back she regarded the figure. All black, with deep red eyes. Terror clutched her heart with an icy grip. This had to be the thing attacking everyone, which had attacked Maria.

The thought of Maria flung her back to her senses. This thing had attacked Maria! Rage replaced fear. With a feral scream she flew into an attack.

Mission: destroy. Target: shade

----

A scream carried down the hall. A scream filled with anger absolute. The sound of emotionally filled rage was more terrifying than that of fright, because anyone who heard this scream knew it's owner. Del was pissed. And some unfortunate soul was being flayed alive. Altas came strolling down the hall to the HERC bay, where he surmised the sound had come from. Delithita had spent a lot of time here of late. Maria had chastised her for hovering near-by in the med-bay, so Del had found something else to do with her sleep-less nights. Upon entering the bay he saw a sight that he would never have expected to see. Delithita was bleeding, everywhere. She lay limply on the floor near her HERC. Her blood was literally everywhere. All over the HERC bay. All over her HERC. Del's hands were but ribbons of flesh. Pieces of her bone showing at the knuckles. She was sprawled face down on the floor, the focal point of the blood was not Del, but about ten feet away not too far from the fuel storage tank. Grimacing at the scene he knelt down and checked Del's pulse. Immediately she reacted, up on her feet she performed a spin kick, that under normal conditions would of seriously injured the 'brid. However, this time, it lacked any real power. Her foot struck Altas's ear and she hit the ground heavily, panting, a faint trace of terror in her eyes. She looked at Altas, or more 'through' him. A second later her eyes rolled up into her head, and she fainted.

----

"It is weird. Del is comatose, Maria recovering."

"Yes, I found her in the HERC bay. I figured some poor tech was getting lit-into. I was glad I thought better of that and investigated. Whatever she was attacking, is gone. No signs. But her blood is everywhere. No one will enter there now. They figure if Del's fury can be conquered, than they have no chance."

"Hmmm... yes, she does have a bit of spunk that one."

"Well, I don't see why she just didn't run."

"Ko'ah, you obviously have not been using your brain. Or have you forgotten how she muscled you around so easily? That was not the low G, that was Del's fury. Something that not even Maria herself tests. It is not in Delithita's nature to run or hide. I do not think she understands the word. When we had to flee the colony, she had to be bodily dragged away. Never mind the fact that her HERC was inoperable, or the fact that she was trying to take out Cybrid HERCs with rocks and a candlegun. Yes, now I see you understand our little Del."

"That is not important Xeno, we need to figure out what it was she fought to the edge of her body's limit. I've never seen her so exhausted, not even after tossing us around. I've seen her move guns with less exertion. She didn't even make me twitch when she hit me."

"Yeah, but whatever this is Altas, we need to get it figured out soon. We have both of our queens out of the game, and this king sure don't like being in check, if you dig?"

"Yes, Fantasma cannot afford to lose you Icey, as well as Del and Maria."
